Under One Person: The Taoist Priest Descends the Mountain

Chapter 234 You Can't Get Away with This Debt

Gao Dazhuang led them to a restaurant and they had lunch there.

After the meal, the three men leaned back in their chairs, the tall, burly man looking satisfied, patting his belly, and asked, "What are your plans for the rest of the day?"

"We bought a car, and it will be a few days before we can pick it up," Xia He said.

"That's perfect." Gao Dazhuang slammed his hand on the table. "I'll show you around for a few days. There are so many fun places in Harbin. You two would definitely get lost if you tried to explore on your own."

Xia He immediately agreed, "Okay!"

Over the next few days, Gao Dazhuang led the two of them around the entire city of Harbin.

On the first day, I strolled along Central Street, walking from one end to the other, stepping on the cobblestones all the way, looking at the old buildings on both sides, eating Madier ice cream, and buying rye bread and red sausage.

The next day, we went to Sun Island, walked along the Songhua River, saw the remains of a snow sculpture, took a cable car, and circled half of the island. We were freezing!

On the third day, we went to the polar aquarium and watched the beluga whale show. Gao Dazhuang said that the girl who trained the whales was really amazing. Xia He said that the beluga whales were especially cute. Cheng Mo said that the heating inside was too strong and he almost caught a cold when he came out.

On the fourth day, we went to the old site of the Ice and Snow World. Although the ice sculptures had all melted, Gao Dazhuang insisted on going to see them, saying, "Since we're already here."

The three of them took a group photo in front of several piles of melting ice, laughing like idiots.

On the afternoon of the fifth day, the 4S store called to say that the car was ready.

After Xia He finished the call, she turned to Gao Dazhuang and told him.

Gao Dazhuang grabbed her arm: "Come on, come on! This is our friend's first car, I have to see it!"

Cheng Mo said casually, "She didn't buy it herself; she used her dad's card."

Xia He was stunned for a moment, then realized, "...We made money before, I'm just used to swiping cards!"

Gao Dazhuang leaned closer with interest: "What did you two do? Did you earn over ten thousand?"

Xia He looked around and, seeing no taxis, walked and waited, explaining to Da Zhuang, "A big real estate tycoon I knew before had some trouble at a construction site, so we introduced him to Deng Youcai, and he paid me for it."

She didn't mention the fact that the two of them practiced martial arts with Wang Weiguo—such things are best left unsaid, much less publicized.

Gao Dazhuang clicked his tongue twice: "That Youcai guy, he's lucky. But if you guys had handled it yourselves, you might have made even more."

Xia He waved her hand: "Hey, we're not in this business. This is, after all, the territory of the shamanic lineage, and we know Youcai. There's no need to steal his business."

Cheng Mo suddenly asked Da Zhuang, "Youcai said he's still driving a taxi, did you know about that?"

Gao Dazhuang said matter-of-factly, "How could I not know? Back in Fengtian, I often rode in his car, and he never charged us."

Cheng Mo clicked his tongue twice: "You guys are just greedy for small gains."

"This doesn't count as taking advantage," Gao Dazhuang argued. "Youcai doesn't make a living from this; he just drives around for fun. Proper taxi drivers work two shifts a day, twelve hours a day non-stop. If Youcai can manage to drive five hours in three days, he's already considered diligent."

Just then, an empty taxi turned the corner, and Gao Dazhuang waved it down.

The three people got into the car and gave the address of the 4S store.

Upon arrival, the shop assistants greeted us very warmly and even put on a welcoming ceremony, hanging a red ribbon and setting off a string of small firecrackers.

Gao Dazhuang was the most enthusiastic one, shouting "Change the pose!" and "One more picture!" as if she were the one picking up a new car.

After the ceremony, the three got into the car.

Cheng Mo drove, Xia He sat in the passenger seat, and Gao Dazhuang was in the back, giving them directions.

I ran around the ice city, from north of the river to south of the river, from east to west.

Finally, the car stopped in front of the school where Gao Dazhuang was.

The time for parting finally came.

Gao Dazhuang got out of the car, patted the roof, and said in a cheerful voice, "Alright, that's enough for now. Drive carefully on the road, and send me a message when you get there."

Xia He nodded, wanting to say something, but her mouth opened without saying anything.

Gao Dazhuang slapped her on the shoulder: "Don't do those sentimental things, I can't stand them."

Xia He laughed: "Who wants to get sentimental with you?"

I highly recommend "Under One Person: The Taoist Priest Descends the Mountain"! It's super exciting!

"That's right." Gao Dazhuang patted the roof of the car again. "I'll come to Shaanxi to visit you guys after summer vacation. You'll have to take care of my food and lodging."

Xia He pulled Cheng Mo along, saying, "We'll have the little Taoist priest cook for you then, you can eat whatever you want!"

"Alright, it's settled then." Gao Dazhuang grinned, then turned to Cheng Mo: "Take good care of my sisters, or I'll take Erzhuang and storm Zhongnan Mountain."

Cheng Mo smiled and said, "Okay."

Gao Dazhuang took two steps back, waved to them, turned around and walked into the school gate, taking big strides, his ponytail swinging behind him.

After walking a few steps, she turned back and called out, "Remember to text me when you get there!"

Xia He stretched her hand out of the car window and waved vigorously.

Gao Dazhuang waved, turned and entered the school gate, disappearing around the corner.

Cheng Mo stepped on the gas, and the car slowly drove off.

He drove two blocks, parked the car on the side of the road, took out his phone, found Xia Liuqing's number, and dialed it.

Beep beep beep—Connection complete.

"Hey, Cheng, are you guys getting ready to head back?" Xia Liuqing's voice came through the receiver.

"Where is the old man?" Cheng Mo asked.

"It's a hotel right next to the train station. Call me when you get there."

"OK."

Cheng Mo hung up the phone and restarted the car.

Xia He asked curiously, "Why did Grandpa Xia want to see you?"

"He scratched our motorcycle, didn't he?" Cheng Mo drove the car out of the parking lot. "He's probably thinking about paying for it."

Xia He nodded: "That's right, he should pay for a new one."

We drove to a parking lot near the train station and parked the car.

Cheng Mo called Xia Liuqing again, told her his location, and the two of them got out of the car and waited by the roadside.

A moment later, Xia Liuqing strolled over.

The old man was supporting his aching back, limping, taking three steps and then stopping, looking as if he was about to fall apart.

Cheng Mo leaned close to Xia He's ear and whispered, "The old man is just pretending to be pitiful. I knew my limits with that kick; it definitely won't break any bones. Don't let him get in the way later."

Xia He gave him a look, and the corners of her mouth slightly turned up. "Don't worry, that's our first motorcycle."

Xia Liuqing walked up to him, steadied herself by holding onto the station, and took a couple of breaths: "Didn't you buy a car? Let's get in and talk, it's still cold outside."

The three of them got into the car.

Cheng Mo turned on the air conditioner, turned around and asked, "Grandpa, you broke my motorcycle. You promised to buy me a new one."

Xia Liuqing sneered inwardly: I knew you had this trick up your sleeve.

He clutched his back, looking old and frail, and said, "Young Cheng, that motorcycle just has some paint chipped off, it won't cost much. Besides, you kicked me, my back still hurts..."

As he spoke, he hissed and grimaced.

Cheng Mo wasn't buying it. He took out his phone, opened the calculator, and started typing away.

"I bought the motorcycle for 32,000 yuan, and now the same model costs 35,000 yuan. Including modification fees, registration fees, and insurance, I'll round it down to 40,000 yuan."

Xia Liuqing paused, her hand on her lower back twitching slightly. "...You actually did it?"

"Of course," Cheng Mo said seriously. "Even close brothers keep clear accounts, let alone you, who aren't my grandfather."

Xia Liuqing choked for a moment, then turned to look at Xia He: "Little He Miao, aren't you going to do anything about him?"

Xia He smiled, her eyes crinkling: "Grandpa Xia, I think the little Taoist priest is right. That motorcycle was our first car, it's so meaningful, and now you've ridden it like that..."

Xia Liuqing clutched her lower back and cried out, "Ouch, my old back hurts so much! That brat Cheng doesn't even know how to respect his elders!"

Xia He reached out and slapped Xia Liuqing on the shoulder: "Grandpa Xia, stop pretending. With your physique, even if that little Taoist priest kicked you ten times, you would be fine in two days."
