Under One Person: The Taoist Priest Descends the Mountain
Chapter 236 You Wet Your Pants
The next chapter is even more exciting: Chapter 233 You Wet Your Pants, looking forward to your visit.
In the next room, Liu Yunwei was sitting with his legs crossed in a chair. When he saw Gao Lian enter, he immediately sat up straight and put on a smile: "Mr. Gao, you're here again?"
Gao Lian pulled up a chair and sat down: "Liu Yunwei, you say it was a coincidence, then explain yourself first. How did you happen to set up an array nearby and kill dozens of Japanese people?"
Liu Yunwei chuckled: "President Gao, I set up that formation there a long time ago. It's my escape point. You know my skills; formations are the only thing I can show off. With so many Japanese devils, that's the only place I could lure them."
Gao Lian rubbed his temples.
Liu Yunwei is a tough nut to crack; he'll tell you anything, but he'll never tell the truth.
Lin Rufeng, however, was a man of few words and refused to explain anything.
A deputy manager leaned over and whispered, just in time for the others in the room to hear: "President Gao, shouldn't we just use some methods? What these two did is enough to warrant the minimum penalty."
Liu Yunwei immediately panicked: "No, it's no use for you guys to use your methods. I'm just here for the fun, I don't know anything."
Gao Lian nodded: "Indeed."
Liu Yunwei breathed a sigh of relief—he knew Gao Lian's character; since he said he wouldn't use underhanded tactics, then…
Gao Lian said to the deputy manager, "Arrange for him and Lin Rufeng to share a room."
The deputy manager was taken aback: "Huh?"
"Let's use our methods on Liu Yunwei right in front of Lin Rufeng." Gao Lian's lips curled up slightly. "I want to see if Lin Rufeng can stand by and watch his brother die."
Liu Yunwei, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, gasped again, his voice trembling: "No! President Gao! You can't do this! You know Lin Rufeng's temper; he wouldn't say a word even if he chopped me up!"
Gao Lian stood up and patted the wrinkles on his pants: "Really? I don't believe it."
Liu Yunwei's face turned pale.
Staff immediately came in and pulled Liu Yunwei up from the chair.
Liu Yunwei struggled a few times before being carried out by two burly men, still shouting, "President Gao! President Gao! You can't do this! I'm easily frightened!"
No one cares about him.
This interrogation room was much larger than the detention room. There was a chair in the middle with wires attached to the armrests. Next to the chair was a control panel with a row of knobs and buttons, and a row of tools whose purpose was unknown.
The chair was made of iron, with leather straps on the armrests and legs. Several wires were attached to the back of the chair, connecting to a box with a knob.
The sight of all the torture instruments in the room made Liu Yunwei's eyelids twitch.
The staff held him down in a chair, restraining his hands and feet with straps, making him unable to move.
Liu Yunwei's eyelids twitched, and his voice began to tremble: "President Gao... this... this doesn't quite fit our glorious and righteous image."
He can't even speak properly anymore.
Gao Lian stood to the side, arms crossed, without saying a word.
The staff connected the wires, reset the knob to zero, and then put a rubber gag in Liu Yunwei's mouth.
Liu Yunwei made "uh-uh-uh" noises, his eyes wide open.
At that moment, the door opened, and Lin Rufeng was escorted in by two staff members.
His hands were cuffed in front of him, and he wore shackles on his feet. The chains dragged on the ground as he walked, making a clanging sound.
Upon seeing Lin Rufeng, Liu Yunwei immediately straightened his back. Although his mouth was stuffed with something and he couldn't speak coherently, he still managed to make sounds: "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!"
The translation roughly means, "Old Lin, I didn't say anything!"
Lin Rufeng looked at him and suddenly laughed: "You don't know anything, what can you say?"
Liu Yunwei: "..."
The staff escorted Lin Rufeng to a corner of the interrogation room and made him stand there, facing Liu Yunwei.
Gao Lian walked up to Lin Rufeng and said calmly, "Lin Rufeng, I'll ask you one more time, are you going to talk or not?"
Lin Rufeng looked at Liu Yunwei without saying a word.
Gao Lian raised his hand and waved it downwards.
The staff member turned the knob.
hum-
The electrotherapy chair starts immediately at the fifth gear.
The moment the current was switched on, Liu Yunwei tensed up abruptly, the veins on his neck bulged, his eyes widened, and he almost bit the gag in his mouth to pieces.
Lin Rufeng's face instantly darkened, veins bulged at the corners of his eyes, and his fists clenched so tightly they cracked.
Gao Lian walked up to him, each word clear and distinct: "Liu Yunwei is no good in any way, but he has been incredibly kind to you. He even tried to take you away in that situation."
He raised his hand.
The staff member turned the knob.
Six gears.
Seven gears.
Eight gears.
Liu Yunwei's body began to convulse violently, as if an invisible whip was lashing him. He bounced violently in the chair, the straps squeaking loudly. White foam began to come out of the corners of his mouth, and his eyes rolled upwards, revealing only the whites. The area under the chair was wet.
Lin Rufeng suddenly turned his head, his eyes bloodshot: "Enough!"
Gao Lian remained unmoved, and the electrotherapy device continued to operate.
Lin Rufeng's voice changed: "I'll tell you! I'll tell you anything you want to know!"
Gao Lian then lowered his hand.
The staff turned off the power, and Liu Yunwei slumped in the chair, panting heavily, white foam still dripping from the corners of his mouth, his body still twitching slightly involuntarily.
Gao Lian pulled up a chair and sat down opposite Lin Rufeng: "Zhou Wu was the one who orchestrated all of this, wasn't he?"
Lin Rufeng was silent for two seconds: "Yes."
"What's your relationship?"
Lin Rufeng's lips twitched slightly, as if he were smiling, yet also mocking himself: "Father and son... master and disciple? Both, and neither."
Gao Lian frowned: "You are a successor of the Flowing Cloud Sword Sect, how did you become master and disciple?"
Lin Rufeng leaned back in his chair, stared at the ceiling for a few seconds, and then slowly spoke.
"Zhou Wu came from a family of actors and singers. In 1940, he assassinated a Japanese officer on stage and died on the spot. All eight members of the Zhou family died at the hands of the Japanese devils."
He paused, then continued, "Only he survived. Because he rebelled in his youth and ran away from home."
Gao Lian nodded: "I know that."
Lin Rufeng looked at him, a half-smile on his face: "Then do you know what he studied after leaving home?"
Gao Lian remained silent.
"He sought out cultivation techniques everywhere, learning all sorts of random things." Lin Rufeng spoke calmly, as if recounting someone else's story. "Later, by chance, he obtained the inheritance of a sorcerer."
Gao Lian pressed further, "And how did you meet him?"
"Me?" Lin Rufeng smiled. "He picked me up. He found me on the roadside, like picking up a dog."
"He taught me to read and write, taught me martial arts, and taught me the principles of being a good person. Later, he felt that the Flowing Cloud Sword Sect's techniques suited me, so he used his connections to send me there to become his disciple. In those years, he never contacted me, and I acted as if he never existed."
Lin Rufeng's voice grew softer and softer: "Until a few years ago, he found me and said he had found the Demon Blade."
Gao Lian put down his pen and calmly asked, "When he came to you, did he already have the knife?"
Lin Rufeng looked at Gao Lian. "He said he wanted revenge. To kill all those traitors hiding in the Northeast, to kill all those damned Japanese devils. He said he wouldn't live much longer and asked me to help him one last time."
"You agreed?"
"He gave me my life," Lin Rufeng said matter-of-factly. "I'll just give it back to him."
Gao Lian was silent for a few seconds: "What about the Tang Clan? Did he also tell you about Zhou Weiren?"
Lin Rufeng nodded: "His father died at the hands of the Tang Clan, and he has always held a grudge against them."
Gao Lian was silent for a moment: "How much does Liu Yunwei know?"
"He doesn't know anything." Lin Rufeng glanced at Liu Yunwei, who was still panting in the chair. "I just asked him to help set up a few formations and run a few errands. He's a simple-minded person; he does whatever he's told to do and never asks why."
Gao Lian stood up, walked up to Lin Rufeng, and looked down at him: "You never intended to escape from the beginning, did you?"
Lin Rufeng remained silent.
"You wanted Liu Yunwei to leave, but he came back to save you." Gao Lian patted him on the shoulder. "You have a good brother."
Lin Rufeng closed his eyes and suddenly spoke: "President Gao."
He opened his eyes and looked at Gao Lian with a half-smile: "I never thought that the righteous and upright President Gao would have this side to him."
Liu Yunwei slowly woke up at this moment, and looked up groggily: "What's going on? Ugh, my pockets feel so cool."
