Chapter 60 Barbecue Party

Xie Xiaoxia and Xie Zhiyuan both came back. One had been deceived, and the other had suffered some hardships working at a hot pot restaurant. They were brothers in misfortune.

In the evening, a late-arriving barbecue party to welcome Xu Hongdou was held in the courtyard.

Lin Yang specially took Xu Hongdou to town in advance to buy ingredients. Master Ma and Da Mai also went along. Xie Xiaochun specially brought the champagne that Xie Zhiyao had asked him to bring. They started preparing in the evening.

As the party was about to begin, Xie Zhiyao brought his younger brother, A Yuan, along, clearly wanting A Yuan to come and adjust his mood.

As soon as Xie Zhiyao and Xie Zhiyuan arrived, Hu Youyu couldn't help but jokingly say, "You two brothers really know how to pick your timing! The meat is just cooked, and you've already arrived."

Xie Zhiyao smiled and asked Xie Xiaochun, who was busy working, "Where's Xiaxia?"

"He went to his master's place, we don't need to worry about him," Xie Xiaochun said casually.

"Once Xiaxia comes back, we won't have to worry about manpower when we start doing live streams at the wood carving workshop," Lin Yang said.

"Lin Yang, I heard from Uncle Heshun that you're going to do live-streaming e-commerce to sell wood carvings?" Xie Zhiyao became interested: "If it goes well, could you also help us promote our agricultural products?"

"I charge a lot for selling products," Lin Yang said with a smile.

Xie Zhiyao laughed and said, "If it sells well, I'll give you a share. Or, you can invest, and I'll give you shares, how about that?"

"Have you made any money yet? Why are you asking me to invest?" Lin Yang chuckled.

"If I were making money, I wouldn't need your investment! You should know that we're a tourist hotspot with high-quality agricultural products. Rural tourism, online stores, and live-streaming e-commerce are all very promising," Xie Zhiyao said.

Lin Yang shook his head and smiled: "Don't give me empty promises. Let's be realistic and talk about commission directly. I don't know when I'll be leaving, so I prefer making quick money."

"Hey Lin Yang, Mr. Xie, we're having a party! Why are you two talking business?" Nana couldn't help but ask.

"Yes, a party needs a party atmosphere. We can talk about the rest later," Xie Zhiyao said, then hurried off to open the champagne.

"Hey, don't make a mess everywhere!" Xu Hongdou said instinctively, raising her hand to dodge.

Xie Zhiyao, who had skillfully opened the champagne, noticed a bouquet of flowers in a vase on the table next to her and couldn't help but ask with a smile, "Who bought these flowers?"

"I..." Nana responded, and Xie Zhiyao gave her a thumbs up and laughed, "Good taste!"

"I'll arrange for you to listen to my original song 'Lonely Man' in a little while. Original songs go best with drinks with friends," Hu Youyu said.

Upon hearing this, Master Ma immediately showed a look of disgust, and the others around him also joined in the commotion.

Xie Zhiyao had already brought over glasses of champagne, and Lin Yang, who got up to help, specially handed a glass of champagne to Xu Hongdou.

Seeing Xie Zhiyao also hand over a glass of champagne, Xu Hongdou paused for a moment, then gestured to Xie Zhiyuan, "For the younger brother."

Seeing Xu Hongdou casually accept the champagne Lin Yang offered, Xie Zhiyao laughed and said, "Little brother can't drink it, have some cola instead!"

Xie Zhiyao handed Xie Zhiyuan a can of Coke and sat down next to him.

"Come on, let's have a drink," Xie Zhiyao said with a smile after sitting down.

"Wait a minute, before we toast, let's say a few words of blessing," Xie Xiaochun quickly said, "Starting with me, I wish everyone here good health, peace and happiness."

Nana followed up, saying, "May our friendship last forever."

Next up was Barley: "Wishing us happiness every day."

Master Ma also quoted in a literary style: "There will be times when the wind and waves will be broken, and the sails will be hoisted to cross the vast sea."

Hu Youyu then laughed and said, "I wish us all could make a fortune."

"May all your wishes come true," Xie Zhiyao continued.

Lin Yang laughed and said, "No regrets!"

Upon hearing this, Xu Hongdou's beautiful eyes flickered slightly as she glanced at Lin Yang, then she smiled and said, "May our motherland prosper and flourish!"

"Best of the night, another drink as a reward!" Xie Xiaochun chimed in.

Xu Hongdou brought the atmosphere to its peak, and everyone laughed and clinked glasses: "To our motherland's prosperity and strength, cheers!"

"Hmm, this dish is great! Excellent cooking skills, who made it?" Xie Zhiyao couldn't help but praise after taking a bite.

Xu Hongdou smiled and said, "Lin Yang was worried that everyone wouldn't be full from just eating barbecue tonight, so he specially cooked a few more dishes."

"It's really delicious, Lin Yang, I didn't expect this! Your cooking skills are professional level. I feel like I rarely eat this well even in restaurants."

Xie Xiaochun nodded in agreement: "Whoever marries you in the future will be very lucky."

"As long as Lin Yang is here, we're all in for a treat," Nana said with a smile, and Da Mai nodded in agreement.

"Hey, don't just focus on eating! Let's chat. What fun things have happened to you all? Share them with everyone and have some fun!" Xie Zhiyao said.

"Brother, you say one first," Xie Xiaochun chimed in.

"You know everything about me, don't you?" Xie Zhiyao said.

"Oh, let me start with one," Hu Youyu said, "In high school, I wrote a love letter to a female classmate, and she told the teacher that I was harassing her studies."

"This teacher is our homeroom teacher and our Chinese teacher. He read it aloud in front of all of us students, saying that I lack vocabulary, made grammatical mistakes, and was too superficial in my feelings."

Everyone laughed, and Xie Xiaochun couldn't help but say, "They definitely need to contact the parents!"

"I did look for him, and my dad went over. But he didn't take it seriously because I've been getting into trouble since I was little. He just reminded me that if I want to write love letters again, I need to be confident and have the confidence, otherwise I'll be the one who embarrasses myself," Hu Youyu said.

"The old man has experience too," Ma Ye said, which made everyone laugh even harder.

Lin Yang laughed and said, "Old Hu, you shouldn't have written love letters. That's leaving evidence of your crime! You should have just called her to a secluded place and confessed to her! That way, even if you failed, no one would know."

"You're so experienced! How many times have you confessed your feelings like this?" Xu Hongdou asked with a smile, tilting her head.

"No, it's always girls who invite me to the woods to confess their feelings," Lin Yang said, and everyone laughed even harder.

"Lin Yang, you're too narcissistic. You brag without thinking," Hu Youyu said with a laugh.

Nana laughed and said, "Is it possible that what Lin Yang said is true?"

"Then...then he truly is a role model for us all! Lin Yang, for this alone, we brothers have to have a drink," Hu Youyu said, raising his glass to Lin Yang.

After Lin Yang and Hu Youyu clinked glasses, Master Ma said, "If you want to talk about embarrassing things, let me tell you one. Back in high school, I was working really hard for a while, doing practice tests every day. One day during break, I suddenly stood up... and my hemorrhoids ruptured."

"You're... having your period!" Lin Yang joked.

Upon hearing this, everyone burst out laughing, and those who were eating quickly put down their skewers.

"Oh my god, no way, Lin Yang, you're going to make me laugh to death, Uncle..." Xu Hongdou patted Lin Yang's shoulder, laughing so hard she didn't care about her image anymore.

"No, I'm laughing so hard I'm crying," Xie Xiaochun said, wiping her eyes with a tissue.

Ma Qiushan shook his head and sighed, "Even now, I can't forget the way my female classmate looked at me. She actually liked me quite a bit, sigh!"
