I'm a professional villain actor; my fans are begging me not to kill them.

It was only after the principal came to her senses and started clapping that a few scattered claps broke out in the room.

The principal added Bai Ye's contact information, saying that if any children misbehaved, they should call him, which was much more effective than any talk of monsters or police coming to arrest them.

"Comrade, what exactly do you do?"

The police officer, who almost lost his composure several times, finally asked the question that had been bothering him.

"I am an actor."

"Oh? What roles have you played?" The police officer became interested as well.

Bai Ye blushed slightly. "Uh, you probably haven't heard of it."

The policeman understood; it seemed to be a minor figure. "It's alright, we'll go check it out later."

Bai Ye's eyes lit up as he looked at the large number of reporters who had rushed over upon hearing the news. He thought to himself, "Isn't this a great opportunity for publicity?"

Liu Xiu, I've really gone all the way to help you.

Bai Ye cleared his throat. "My name is Bai Ye, and I'm an actor. Actually, the TV series I starred in will only air tomorrow. It's called 'The Hidden Forest,' directed by Liu Xiu. I play the role of Lin Dong in it. I hope everyone will support it."

Many people remember White Night and The Hidden Forest; you can check them out when the time comes.

in the afternoon.

Liu Xiu is making a final mobilization, encouraging everyone to help with the publicity, but their publicity efforts have been lukewarm for the past few days.

Whether it's the lead actor or the director, their posts don't get much attention, and they've completely lost popularity.

The account for "The Hidden Forest" has fewer than 500 comments, and those are mostly from the actors' own fans.

Liu Xiu was also in a real bind, and could only shamelessly try to curry favor with everyone in hopes of increasing the popularity of the TV series.

As evening approached, the lead actor, Juani, called.

Liu Xiu answered the phone with some confusion.

"Director Liu! We're famous!"

Liu Xiu's spirits lifted. "What's going on? You paid for trending topics?"

Juandi isn't a big star, so it's impossible to become famous by relying on him; Liu Xiu is well aware of this.

Juandi paused, "What money? No."

"What is that?" Liu Xiu was even more confused.

"You still remember Bai Ye, right?"

Nonsense, he could forget everyone but this guy.

Liu Xiu rolled his eyes. "What's wrong with Bai Ye?"

"The movie 'Day and Night' is trending on social media, and it's even promoting 'The Hidden Forest'!"

Liu Xiu was overjoyed, "I knew I hadn't misjudged him!"

That's great! Bai Ye has been trending on social media several times already; I wonder what it will be for this time.

Following Hu Andi's advice, Liu Xiu opened the Douyin trending topics.

The trending topics were a bit strange. The first one was political news, which shouldn't be related. The second one was a kindergarten drill. The third one was an entertainment news item. The fourth one was foreign news. The fifth one was a prisoner's speech. It wasn't until the twelfth one that there was a topic related to "The Hidden Forest".

Liu Xiu clicked on each one from top to bottom; the first one wasn't it, the second one wasn't it either...

Holy crap!

Just as he was about to swipe away, his eyes were drawn to the video footage.

A man in black, wielding a machete, moved through the kindergarten as if it were his own territory, indiscriminately killing people.

If it weren't for the prominent headline telling him it was an exercise, he would have almost thought it was real.

After watching it twice, Liu Xiu went back to the trending topics to see what else was trending.

When Liu Xiu saw the fifth one, his eyes widened in shock. "Holy crap! Bai Ye!"

As Liu Xiu scrolled through the trending topics, he became extremely excited.

"Dude, you're a real shill! Damn, I didn't expect you to promote this so enthusiastically! I'm not saying anything more, I'll definitely contact you first if I get a role!"

When Liu Xiu called Bai Ye, he addressed her as "bro" instead of "Xiao Bai".

"Thank you very much, Director Liu."

"We're all fucking buddies."

Don't be fooled by the fact that the trending topics for "The Hidden Forest" are ranked low; the trending topic for the kindergarten drill is ranked very high. Once people see this, they will quickly follow the trend to "The Hidden Forest".

What if I can't track them down?

"Simple," Liu Xiu said, quickly typing in the comments section with his short, stubby fingers: "The actor playing the villain is @白夜, who played Lin Dong in 'The Hidden Forest'."

With just this one comment, Bai Ye's single-digit number of followers jumped to over five thousand in a short period of time.

The second trending topic even included a direct recommendation: "Everyone is searching for The Hidden Forest."

The link leads directly to the official account of "The Hidden Forest," which is about to surpass 10,000 followers.

Several trending topics boosted the popularity of "The Hidden Forest," and seeing this momentum, the website even added a small recommendation slot for the show.

The following evening, "The Hidden Forest" officially premiered.

It initially garnered a lot of attention, with Bai Ye's fierce performance at the kindergarten sparking curiosity among many netizens.

But soon, the popularity began to decline. "The Hidden Forest" was not a big production to begin with, the lead actors were not very famous, and the plot was not particularly outstanding.

This is also why no one wanted to play the role of Lin Dong at the time; the whole series was just average.

A veteran detective mentors a rookie detective. During the pursuit of a murderer, the rookie falls for the female lead, but she doesn't reciprocate his feelings, finding him immature.

Later, due to a series of cases, the mentor sacrificed himself and the novice matured overnight, successfully capturing the criminal and winning the heart of the female lead.

The plot is fairly standard and flows smoothly, without any major logical flaws.

However, many people tuned in because of Bai Ye's rampage in the kindergarten, and that initial buzz quickly faded—Bai Ye wasn't the main character, and he didn't even appear in the first few episodes.

Liu Xiu was also a little helpless, and wished he could slap himself in the face.

That day, Bai Ye asked him if he could film a few more.

Out of concern for his mental well-being, Liu Xiu refused.

"I was wrong, really."

"I once had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but I didn't know how to cherish it."

"I'm so damn damned!"

If Bai Ye had appeared in the first episode, wouldn't we be able to take off right now?

As a result, he missed such a good opportunity, and Liu Xiu regretted it so much that he slapped his thigh.

For small production teams, what bothers them is not the quality of the work or the actors' acting skills, but the anxiety of attracting viewers.

A person who constantly generates buzz is practically a godfather to a small film crew.

Liu Xiu could only ride on the coattails of Bai Ye's popularity through publicity. Today he promoted "refined beast," tomorrow "perverted killer," and the day after "frequent visitor to the police station," while the main character received almost no publicity.

This barely managed to keep the hype alive.

Fortunately, a few days later, "The Hidden Forest" finally aired the episode "Day and Night," but unfortunately, the popularity of "Day and Night" only lasted for a day or two.

Liu Xiu was so regretful that he almost slapped himself in the face until it was swollen.

At this time, Bai Ye was still busy killing people on the set of "Bloodstained Sand," occasionally making a cameo appearance as a serial killer to scare kindergarten children. With the parents' promotion, the title of "Kindergarten Killer" spread like wildfire.

The system also awards him points for these "crimes," allowing him to live a comfortable life.

Unbeknownst to him, a video went viral online.
