Doomsday Club

Chapter 1: Doomsday

"It is now twenty years in real time."

"I don't know when the apocalypse started."

"But now, there's a hole in the sky..."

In the ruins of the city.

Xu Nuo sought refuge from the scorching sun in a shelter converted from an abandoned garage.

The Earth's ozone layer has a hole, and sunlight is directly "poking" into the Earth without being refracted.

High temperatures and intense ultraviolet radiation are everywhere.

It kills plants and burns flesh.

Only the steel and rocks outside could withstand such a harsh environment.

He peered out through the crack in the window.

The city is now a ruin. Buildings have collapsed, and weathered walls have exposed the rusted steel bars inside.

The road is cracked, and the green belts on both sides have long since withered. As far as the eye can see, there is only desolation, with only weathered yellow sand everywhere.

The city was completely silent.

All that can be seen everywhere is weathered yellow sand.

"History has been disrupted, and technology has regressed."

"I tried to find news reports about these twenty years, but ultimately came up empty-handed."

When exactly did the apocalypse occur, and what caused it?

"I need to know the truth so that I can take preventative measures and at least survive the future apocalypse."

Inside the shelter.

Xu Nuo held an old-fashioned tape recorder and recorded his discoveries.

There were still about two hours until sunset, and the food and drinking water in the garage were almost gone.

He heard on the radio that the Doomsday Lords north of Ning City controlled a large amount of survival resources, so he decided to go there after sunset to see if he could exchange some food and water.

Behind him, on a whiteboard, was a detailed city map.

By this time, most of the areas above had been marked with an "X", while others were marked with red symbols to indicate danger, meaning that the exploration of this city was nearing its end.

"It took two years, and I died thirty-two times."

"Much less than expected."

He muttered to himself, but finally let out a long sigh.

They risked their lives to explore almost the entire city, but the only clue they found was a single year.

"The year is 2046, 20 years from the real world."

"..."

As dusk fell.

With the sun no longer shining directly on us, the outdoor temperature has finally returned to normal.

Xu Nuo put on his modified protective suit and picked up a makeshift weapon made of a wooden stick and a kitchen knife.

He took one last look at the shelter, then walked out without looking back.

Apocalyptic world.

Compared to the extreme conditions during the day, it is more dangerous for humans to venture out at night to search for supplies.

Having survived the apocalypse so far, no one wants to die.

Even if it's just a bottle of water, the rats will risk killing each other to survive.

When she first came here, Xu Nuo hadn't changed her mindset and was tricked several times because of her kindness.

As for now.

He has come to understand a principle.

In this environment, nothing is worth anything except one's own life.

Abandoned cars are everywhere in the city, but unfortunately they can't be used.

Because they've been scrapped for so long, they're now just some bulky metal shells.

Or, to use a more local name—a rat trap.

It's been so long since the apocalypse, the easily accessible supplies in the city have long been looted.

The "rats" surviving the apocalypse go out at night to look for food, often finding nothing and gambling on finding it until dawn.

As the sun rose, they took a chance and hid in their car.

The answer is obvious.

Anyone who has studied the "greenhouse effect" knows that the interior of a car at this time is like a highly efficient solar oven.

Staying inside a car can indeed prevent burns caused by direct sunlight.

But as the temperature inside the car rose rapidly, the scavengers who had taken refuge inside struggled and died in agony, like dried meat jerky.

This is the end of the world.

At the very least, it's the promised apocalypse—humans living like rats.

We trudged northward through the yellow sand.

After walking for about forty minutes, we finally arrived at our destination.

The territory of the Doomsday Lord.

"market."

Under the lord's protection, all fighting is prohibited in this area.

The consequences of breaking the rules.

They were hung on the flagpole at the lord's gate by his private army and left to rot in the sun until they died.

Ignoring the gruesome dried corpses at the entrance, he realized that the food inside the shelter was running out, and he had come mainly to exchange for some supplies.

Food, water, or news about the end of the world.

A large number of survivors gathered in the market.

The lord's private army, survivors who came to trade, or simply ordinary people who wanted to seek refuge with the lord and live here.

"If only I had known about this place sooner," Xu Nuo sighed inwardly.

In the apocalypse, there is absolutely no trust between people; in order to survive, everyone's initial relationship is one of absolute hostility.

But it's different here.

Because of the Doomsday Lord, everyone can temporarily put aside their hostility and communicate with each other.

pity……

He had never survived this long during his previous transmigrations, so he didn't receive this information on the broadcast at all.

They exchanged the radio for some food and water.

Instead of leaving, they inquired about the "truth of the apocalypse" in the market.

This was a rare opportunity, and gathering intelligence was his primary objective.

He hadn't lived enough and didn't want to die in a future apocalyptic disaster that could happen at any time.

Just then.

The market guards noticed his movements and came over to disperse the crowd.

"Come with me."

As he spoke, the man continued, without waiting for Xu Nuo's consent: "Our lord has everything you wish to know."

The tone was harsh.

It carries a clear threatening connotation.

Xu Nuo frowned slightly, but after hearing the second half of the sentence, she still chose to follow.

He doesn't belong to this era.

Therefore, they were not afraid of the threats posed by these guards at all.

So what if you kill me? We'll see if I get my revenge next time I come back.

But the other party claimed that the Doomsday Lord here knew the truth, which was too tempting for the promise.

And that's exactly what they said.

If anyone knows anything about the apocalypse, the apocalypse lord, who controls vast resources, is clearly the most likely candidate.

He carefully memorized the guard's appearance and promised to follow him deeper into the market.

In the abandoned building, he finally met the mysterious doomsday lord.

Hiding in the shadows, he curiously observed Xu Nuo.

After a brief silence, the other party finally spoke.

"It really was you."

"The Destroyer of Worlds".

Xu Nuo wondered if it was just her imagination, but the voice sounded somewhat familiar.

Just as he was trying to recall where he had heard it before.

next second.

Then they heard the other person coldly say, "Kill him!"

Xu Nuo reacted quickly and immediately tried to resist.

But with a gunshot, he fell to the ground.

In his final moments, he saw the Doomsday Lord finally stand up from his chair and walk toward him.

Struggling to lift his head, he tried to see the other person's face clearly.

Ultimately, he couldn't hold on any longer and stopped breathing.

he died.
