Chapter 500 The Battle of Rayheart

The bio-elevator, like an ant lost in the belly of a giant whale, slowly traversed this organic space. The surrounding air was as viscous as gel, warm to the touch yet carrying an indescribable sense of oppression, as if each breath was being eroded by the "breath" of this creation. Bai Lin could clearly hear a deep, drawn-out rumble, not the sound of mechanical operation, but more like the breathing of some kind of creature, resonating with the energy ripples on the instrument panel. With each inhale, the surrounding tissues would slightly contract, and the dark golden veins would dim; with each exhale, the veins would expand, bursting with fluorescence, and even the space itself would tremble slightly.

Along the way, one can see some strange "structures"—some resemble huge, half-open gill slits, with a ghostly blue light shining through the gaps, and tiny, stardust-like particles drifting out from them, turning into wisps of smoke upon touching the hull and leaving faint traces of corrosion; others resemble thick, intertwined nerve bundles, covered with a layer of fine hairs, the tips of which shimmer with dark red light, like countless peering eyes; and still others are irregular, bulging sac-like tissues filled with turbid, bubbly liquid, with vague outlines floating in the liquid, whether cells of this creation or some long-dead sacrifice.

The deeper they went, the higher the concentration of bio-energy became. A thin, pale golden film began to condense on the porthole, slowly writhing as if it were alive, trying to penetrate the hull. Bai Lin activated his energy shield. The shield collided with the energy field, producing a piercing hissing sound and rippling with pale blue light. The surrounding tissues began to become increasingly viscous, the dark golden veins grew thicker, and the light intensified. They could even see tiny fragments, shimmering with an eerie red glow, mixed in with the "liquid" flowing within the veins, resembling bone fragments of some kind of creature.

After traveling for an unknown amount of time, the space ahead suddenly opened up. The bio-elevator seemed to pass through a soft membrane and instantly entered a huge cavern—this was the core of the Ray, enveloped in bio-energy so dense it was almost impenetrable. The pungent, sweet smell in the air grew stronger, and one could even see the pale golden mist formed from the energy flowing and swirling slowly within the cavern. Touching the skin brought a burning warmth, yet it was accompanied by a bone-chilling cold.

The cave's ceiling is an irregular dome, riddled with countless tiny, luminous holes, like stars in the night sky, yet emitting an eerie warm glow. Countless slender, translucent tentacles hang from the dome, their tips adorned with glistening, teardrop-like droplets. These droplets fall, striking the "ground" below and creating ripples of golden energy. In the center of the cave is a huge, irregular depression, within which flows a viscous liquid with a dark golden sheen. Bubbles constantly rise from the surface, each bursting bubble releasing a burst of rich bio-energy, causing the entire cave to shimmer with light.

Bai Lin's heart suddenly raced. He could sense that something slumbered deep within the depression—not a mechanical stillness, but a suppressed, malicious dormancy. That aura pierced through the dense energy field, penetrated the ship's hull, and crashed straight into his mind, causing countless shattered images to flash before his eyes—a distorted starry sky, a decaying world, countless screaming souls, and a pair of enormous, pupil-less eyes staring intently at him through the endless darkness.

The bio-elevator slowly descended onto a flat piece of tissue at the edge of the cave. A slight tremor emanated from the soft surface as the vessel touched it, as if something had "sensed" it. Bai Lin glanced at the bio-elevator; it seemed to have unlocked its access restrictions, and the surroundings instantly fell silent, save for the low breathing and the faint bubbling of liquid. He gripped the specially made weapon at his waist, his gaze fixed on the depression in the center of the cave. That was his destination, the heart of this ancient behemoth, where his old adversary, Grakua, held his last hope for a comeback, and where a terror capable of devouring everything resided.

This ray ship is terrifyingly large. Bai Lin had seen Cthulhu's pet Zemurus in the deep sea and thought that was the largest size a living organism could exist in. Who knew that it was nothing compared to this ray ship. Bai Lin had also learned about the concept of biological motherships in some science fiction works. Legend has it that the Zerg could travel in space on jellyfish-like biological motherships. But even that was not comparable to this ray ship.

Now is not the time to think about science fiction material. Bai Lin calmed his mind and was no longer affected by the strange environment in front of him and the mental pressure brought by the ancient god. He had only one purpose for this trip: to completely eliminate the ancient god's henchman who could freely travel through time and space.

He floated up and silently flew towards the core of the ray ship. Passing through a thin veil of mist, he saw that long-lost figure.

It was a huge, golden, luminous object, mostly embedded in the ground of the ray's heart, with only a small portion, about the size of a round table, showing. The figure was standing there.

Grakua's tall figure, draped in a yellow robe and topped with a bald octopus head, was immersed in a green light. Dozens of tentacles on his head were flying wildly as if electrocuted. He was absorbing the bio-energy of the Ray Heart, an energy that gave him ultimate satisfaction. He was already fantasizing about the beautiful scene of him, once he returned to his best condition, personally crushing Bai Lin and all the humans who resisted him, dissecting their hearts and lungs, turning them into black water, leaving no trace of their corpses.

Bai Lin didn't have the habit of making pointless opening remarks. In an instant, he had already reached his peak strength, and his body suddenly accelerated, like a cannonball hurtling towards Grakua. The jade-handled dragon in his hand was as black as ink, and at the tip of the cannonball, it was like a poisonous needle filled with disordered elemental energy, piercing towards Grakua's body.

A sneak attack? No, Bai Lin doesn't have any strange mental fastidiousness; his desire to kill Grakua has reached its peak.

In a fraction of a second, Bai Lin had already rushed in front of Grakua, his sword thrusting fiercely towards the opponent's back. But an unparalleled resistance suddenly appeared, as if he had rushed into a lump of melting rubber. The green energy around Grakua was like countless threads, binding Bai Lin and the sword in his hand tightly, preventing him from advancing any further after only piercing the tip of his sword a few centimeters into Grakua's back.

"Insolence! Mortal!" Gracua awoke with a start, already enraged.
