"Lin Yuan, I really didn't expect that you could take down the Wine Demon all by yourself. You're quite capable!"

Inside the carriage, Zhuoma glanced at Lin Yuan several times before finally saying with a grin.

Clearly, Zhuoma was quite impressed with Lin Yuan after his easy victory over the wine demon. He truly lived up to his reputation as her destined one, and his methods were indeed very impressive.

"Hehe, just lucky, just lucky. To be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to succeed at first!"

Lin Yuan chuckled. If the critical hit hadn't been so effective, they would have really fallen into the hands of the Drunken Demon.

"Yes, it would be best if it passed."

Zhuoma nodded, not intending to ask further. After all, everyone has their own secrets, and there's no need to pry.

"Let's quickly see where our next transit point is!"

"Okay, sure." Lin Yuan nodded in agreement, then took out the map and looked down at it:

"It's a place called Snake Valley!"

"So, do you know where this place is?"

Zhuoma was taken aback, then her expression turned disgusted: "Of course I know this awful place, those snakes are disgusting!"

"A snake?" Lin Yuan asked in surprise.

"Yes, that's the territory of a bunch of snake monsters. We'll probably have to use force to break through."

Zhuoma looked at Lin Yuan and said this.

Upon hearing this, Lin Yuan understood; so they wanted to attack...

The carriage traveled along the dark road and soon arrived at the next place—the Valley of the Serpent Demons.

Lin Yuan drove the carriage directly towards the valley entrance.

As we walked into the valley, the surrounding atmosphere suddenly changed. It was no longer the chilling cold of the Yin Road, but a sticky, damp, and eerie atmosphere with a strong, sweet, and fishy smell, as if we were soaking in an ancient, icy pool, making even breathing difficult and piercing.

The smooth bluestone path has completely disappeared, replaced by a slippery, sticky black mud floor, mixed with rotting leaves, withered vines, and tiny, pale snake skins, which is enough to make one's scalp crawl.

The mountain walls on both sides were bare, covered with scratches of varying depths, gleaming with a cold, hard scaly sheen. The lingering stench of snakes in the air grew stronger and stronger, making Zhuoma frown slightly. What a disgusting smell.

"Lin Yuan, be careful. Let's stop the carriage at the valley entrance so these monsters don't hurt the horses," Zhuoma said.

"OK."

Lin Yuan stopped the carriage, got out with Zhuoma, and planned to deal with all the monsters before driving through.

His eyes were as cold and serious as ice, his sharp gaze sweeping across the desolate valley.

Just now on the Yin Road, Zhuoma had already told him some information about this Snake Ghost Valley.

A group of snake-like creatures, half-human and half-snake, dwell here. They are bloodthirsty by nature and never waste words with passersby. Anyone who steps into the valley is regarded as prey.

The only way to get through here is through slaughter!

Tatata!

The two walked into the valley, their steps just crossing the valley's boundary line hidden beneath decaying leaves.

This one step completely ignited the murderous intent throughout the valley.

"hiss--!!"

A sharp, piercing screech suddenly erupted from all directions, like thousands of venomous snakes simultaneously flicking their tongues, the sound waves making eardrums tingle.

The once silent valley instantly came to life. The ground trembled violently, black mud surged, and gray-blue figures shot out like arrows from the dark caves in the mountain walls, piles of decaying leaves, and the shadows of towering ancient trees. In the blink of an eye, they surrounded Lin Yuan and Zhuoma, completely encircling them.

The one who surrounded them was none other than the ruler of Snake Valley—Snake Demon.

Their appearance was extremely bizarre. Their upper bodies were twisted and shriveled humanoids, their skin covered with hard scales that were a mix of bluish-gray and jet-black, rough and cold, gleaming with a metallic sheen. Their necks were bare with stark white knuckles, and their cheeks were split with gill-like patterns resembling snakes. Their vertical pupils were a cold, dark gold, devoid of any emotion, only displaying bloodthirsty brutality and madness.

The lower body lacks human legs, replaced by a thick, powerful, and massive snake tail covered in scales. The scales scrape against the ground, making a screeching sound, and the tip of the tail is raised high, exuding a deadly aggression.

Even more chilling is that these snake-like creatures wield all sorts of sinister and bizarre weapons: some hold bone spears made from giant snake bones, the tips of which are coated with dark green venom that corrodes the ground, turning black mud into white smoke when it drips onto it; some clutch vine whips wrapped with small venomous snakes, the snakes flicking their tongues and their fangs gleaming with a cold, eerie blue light; and others hold curved blades with twisted snake-shaped runes engraved on the blades, exuding a bone-chilling, sinister aura.

A group of snakes linked head to tail, forming a tight encirclement that trapped Lin Yuan and Zhuoma in the center, leaving them no way out.

The leader of the snake monsters was the largest, with a tail as thick as a tree trunk, dark red scales, and a pair of small fleshy horns on its head. Its ferocity far surpassed that of its kind.

Its dark golden vertical pupils were fixed on Lin Yuan, and its long, scarlet tongue flickered in and out of its split mouth, emitting a hoarse, fierce, and indistinct howl, each word carrying murderous intent:

"Intruder... Die!!"

There were no questions, no negotiations, not even the slightest unnecessary probing.

The logic of the Serpent Demon is simple yet brutal: once you step into the Serpent Demon Valley, you become a dead thing.

The serpent leader swung its bone spear fiercely, and dark green venom splattered from the tip of the spear.

The remaining snake demons instantly went berserk. With their thick snake tails slamming into the ground, they pounced forward like lightning. Bone spears pierced, vine whips swept, and curved blades slashed. All sorts of insidious attacks, accompanied by a strong stench, swept over Lin Yuan and Zhuoma!

"Zhuoma, hide behind me!"

Lin Yuan reacted swiftly, pulling Zhuoma tightly behind him and instantly creating a thick golden barrier in front of him.

"Clang clang clang—!"

The bone spear and curved blade slammed into the barrier, producing a deafening clang of metal against metal. The sinister and eerie power violently assaulted the golden light, causing the barrier to tremble slightly, yet it firmly blocked all attacks and protected Droma behind it.

The snake-like creatures attacked one after another, their dense barrage of attacks falling like a torrential rain. The powerful gusts of wind from their lashing tails howled past, carrying a stench that was almost suffocating.

Lin Yuan's eyes turned cold, and his aura suddenly became sharp.

This Serpent Valley was a deadly trap from the very beginning.

He stared at the swarm of snakes attacking him, a murderous intent surging within him, ready to unleash a massacre!

The lead snake, enraged by its missed attack, lashed out with its thick tail, sending decaying leaves and pebbles flying. Its roar echoed throughout the valley: "Tear them apart! Feed the snakes of the valley!!"

The attack of the dozens of snake-like creatures instantly intensified, the rustling of their scales rubbing together, their hissing and the whooshing of their weapons mingling together, revealing their murderous intent.

Lin Yuan firmly protected Zhuoma, his steps steady as a pine tree, and the golden barrier remained as solid as Mount Tai amidst the storm of attacks.

A damp wind, carrying a strong stench of snakes, swept through the area; the life-or-death struggle in Snake Valley had only just begun...
