Dorm Duo Survival: What Did You Do to the School Beauty?
Chapter 207 Sneak Attack
The seal on the blood coffin was completely reinforced. The crimson coffin body radiated a faint halo, firmly imprisoning the evil aura inside, without even the slightest leakage. Lin Yuan slowly withdrew his hand from the coffin body and let out a long sigh of relief.
An Xin put down the corpse control bell, rubbed her sore wrist, still holding the sniper rifle, and warily scanned every corner of the mass grave.
The wind still howled across the mass grave, withered bones and decaying leaves tumbling in the breeze. The mournful cawing of crows gradually faded into the distance, but the lingering evil and deathly aura on this land still sent chills down one's spine, leaving no room for complacency.
"Don't worry, let's rest for a few minutes to make sure the blood coffin isn't moving, then we'll leave immediately. We can't stay here any longer," Lin Yuan said to An Xin in a low voice, circulating his power to slightly restore the divine lightning power within his body while cautiously observing his surroundings.
He could sense that there were still faint fluctuations of evil energy deep within the mass grave, though not as strong as the three evil creatures from before. But no one could guarantee that no other evil creatures would appear.
Anxin nodded gently, her gaze falling on the zombie horde behind her. Seven or eight zombies stood stiffly, the talismans on their foreheads glowing yellow in the dense yin energy, safe and sound.
She glanced at the blood coffin on the carriage again, and only after confirming that there was no unusual movement did she relax her tense nerves slightly, lean against the carriage, and quickly adjust her breathing.
Just as the two relaxed their guard, a dark figure suddenly sped out from behind a withered tree deep in the mass grave. It was incredibly fast and carried a strong aura of evil and blood, heading straight for Lin Yuan and An Xin.
The dark shadow was none other than a blood-soaked head. The head had a bluish-black face, blood-red eyes, and thick, dark red saliva hanging from the corners of its mouth. Its teeth were sharp and cleaved with undried blood. As it flew, it emitted a grotesque, ear-piercing laugh.
"Watch out!" Lin Yuan's heart tightened. Almost instinctively, the Golden Extreme Divine Thunder within his body instantly awakened, and golden lightning surged out like a tide, weaving into a solid protective barrier around him and An Xin.
"Sizzle—" The head slammed into the lightning barrier, was instantly bounced off by the lightning, and the flesh on the head was scorched black, emitting a pungent burnt smell.
Lin Yuan steadied himself, a fierce glint flashing in his eyes. He abruptly turned his head towards the direction from which the head had flown. Lightning re-condensed in his palm, and his voice boomed like thunder as he shouted, "Who goes there? How dare you ambush us here!"
His shouts echoed through the empty mass grave, shaking the surrounding weeds violently and causing the withered bones on the ground to tumble slightly.
Instead of a direct response, he was met with a sinister, hoarse laugh, a laugh that was cold and raucous, like the hooting of an owl, filled with malice and greed, sending chills down one's spine.
"Hehehe... Such powerful protective divine lightning, quite interesting."
As the laughter subsided, a gaunt figure slowly emerged from the withered forest, his gait eerie, his feet barely touching the ground, each step landing silently, as if he had merged with the surrounding yin energy.
Lin Yuan and An Xin's gazes instantly locked onto the figure, and they both frowned in unison.
It was a middle-aged Taoist priest, wearing a tattered blue Taoist robe, stained with dark brown blood and grave soil, and torn in many places, revealing his dark blue-black skin underneath.
His face was covered with dense, eerie runes, which emanated a faint black aura and stretched from his forehead to his chin, twisting and intertwining like living things, faintly exuding an sinister glow.
His hair was disheveled and messy, covering most of his face, revealing only a pair of murky yet sinister eyes. His gaze was full of malice and scrutiny, and when he swept over Lin Yuan and An Xin, there was a hint of barely perceptible surprise in his eyes.
The head that had attacked Lin Yuan was now slowly flying back to the middle-aged Taoist, circling above his head once before suddenly opening its mouth and biting down hard on his left arm.
With a "sizzle," sharp teeth pierced deep into his bluish-black skin, and dark red blood gushed from the wound instantly, being frantically sucked up by the head. The head's eyes became increasingly crimson, and the ferocious look on its face became more and more obvious. Saliva dripped from the corner of its mouth, hitting the ground and corroding out small black pits.
But the middle-aged Taoist seemed to feel no pain at all. Instead, he slightly raised his arm to make it easier for the head to suck his blood, and a look of enjoyment appeared on his face, which was extremely strange.
Dark red blood slid down his arm, soaking his tattered Taoist robe and blending with the existing bloodstains, emitting a nauseating stench. The evil aura around him also became more intense due to the nourishment of the blood.
Anxin gripped the sniper rifle tightly, aiming the muzzle directly at the middle-aged Taoist priest.
Lin Yuan stared intently at the middle-aged Taoist, the lightning in his palm becoming increasingly condensed. He could sense that this middle-aged Taoist was even stronger than the three evil creatures from before. The evil aura around him was mixed with a sinister power similar to that of the blood coffin, clearly indicating that he was up to no good.
Hearing their conversation, the middle-aged Taoist priest chuckled and gently patted the head that was biting his arm. The head immediately released its grip, with sticky blood still dripping from the corner of its mouth. It obediently floated beside him, its eyes still bloodshot, staring intently at Lin Yuan and An Xin.
His gaze moved slowly, sweeping over Lin Yuan, then landing on An Xin, and finally glancing over the seven or eight zombies behind him. His eyes were calm and indifferent, but when his gaze fell on the blood coffin on the carriage, his pupils suddenly contracted, and his originally cloudy eyes instantly became extremely hot, like a hungry wolf seeing its prey. The smile on his lips also became more and more eerie and greedy.
"At such a young age, you were able to kill three evil corpses and even escort something of the Blood Coffin level. You are truly remarkable!" The middle-aged Taoist spoke in a hoarse voice, his tone carrying a hint of admiration, but more so, greed. "I've been guarding Black Wind Ridge for so long, and this is the first time I've encountered someone bringing a Blood Coffin here. It saves me a lot of trouble."
As he spoke, he slowly walked forward, his steps still unsettling, and an evil aura emanated from him like a tidal wave.
Lin Yuan stood in front of An Xin and the blood coffin, his body crackling with lightning once more, his tone icy: "You want to die?"
The middle-aged Taoist stopped in his tracks, cackling wickedly. His gaze remained fixed on the blood coffin. He licked his dry, blackened lips, his eyes brimming with greed.
He secretly pondered: A zombie that can be sealed with a blood coffin of this caliber is no ordinary creature. It must be a being with boundless resentment and formidable strength. If he could refine this blood zombie for his own use or extract its evil power, his evil arts would surely reach a new level. This blood coffin is the goal he has been dreaming of!
"I'm courting death?" The middle-aged Taoist sneered, his eyes turning sinister as he looked at Lin Yuan. "Young man, if you know what's good for you, hand over the blood coffin, and I might spare your lives. Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite. I'll not only take the blood coffin, but I'll also refine you two, along with all these zombies, into my corpse slaves!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the evil aura around him surged, the eerie runes on his face became even more vivid, and the head floating beside him let out a grotesque laugh before lunging at Lin Yuan once again.
"act recklessly!"
Lin Yuan's eyes flashed with sternness. He raised his hand and unleashed a bolt of Golden Extreme Divine Lightning, which struck the head hard. Under the scorching light of the lightning, the head let out a shrill scream and was thrown away again.
An Xin immediately raised her sniper rifle, aiming it at the middle-aged Taoist priest, her finger on the trigger, ready to fire at any moment. "Lin Yuan, be careful! This man's target is the blood coffin; we absolutely cannot let him succeed!"
Lin Yuan nodded slightly, his gaze fixed on the middle-aged Taoist. Anyone who dared to covet the blood coffin was courting death!
