My Terrible Life in Those Years
2. You squeezed my milk.
Looking at the long queue waiting to get on the bus, I was sweating profusely.
This is the starting station, God!
I pulled a slightly crumpled five-yuan bill from my coat pocket, dropped it into the coin box, and then asked the driver, "Where can I get change?"
When we arrived at Xiancun, Lao Liu said that it only cost two yuan, and he should give me three yuan in change.
"Young man, this is a self-service ticket machine. It doesn't sell tickets, and no one gives change."
My mouth dropped open. With such a small action, I lost another three dollars.
The people behind were already getting anxious: "Young man, are we going to get in or not?"
I had no choice but to resign myself to my bad luck and squeeze inside with my two heavy bags. I found a good spot in the middle of the bus and put them down. I tried to calm myself down and leaned against the handrail. As the bus started moving and swayed, I looked at the endless stream of cars on both sides of the road, the super wide road, the tall buildings, and the many shops.
Everything was unfamiliar and new to me.
At this point, the bus pulled over to the side of the road. No one got off; it was only the third stop, and only a few people got on.
A thin little girl with short hair and a round face, her cheeks rosy, carrying a small bag, holding a cup of milk she had just bought from a convenience store, and with a straw in her mouth, squeezed through the crowd to the middle of the car and came to my side.
I smelled a delicate fragrance and took a closer look at her.
She's not tall, only up to my chin, so she's probably less than 1.6 meters tall.
The other parts are flat in the front and flat in the back, lacking everything I need, and don't suit my aesthetic at all.
He quickly looked away and gazed out the car window again.
Just then, the car started moving again, and out of the corner of my eye, I could see the little girl inserting the straw into the milk carton, preparing to replenish her energy.
Suddenly, the bus braked sharply. The girl, probably a regular on this type of bus, reacted quickly, wrapping one arm around the handrail and securing herself tightly.
I didn't realize what was happening, and my hands weren't holding onto anything; my body just leaned forward.
Then, I saw her holding the milk, preparing to bring it to her lips.
Just as I was mentally screaming "Oh no!", my chest was already thrusting into her.
Then, due to our intimate contact, most of the milk was squeezed out, splashing all over her face and me.
She was biting the straw in her mouth, and the pointed end of the straw was piercing my chest through the milk carton.
My instinctive reaction was to lean back quickly, and I crashed into the GG panel in the middle of the car with a loud bang.
The little girl looked regretful: "My milk! You, you squeezed out all my milk!"
At that moment, I felt wronged and wanted to explain that I hadn't intentionally squeezed your breasts. When the other passengers on the bus heard this, they all burst out laughing.
Many eyes were even fixed on that part of her body. An old lady was glaring at me, muttering something I couldn't understand in the local dialect of Huacheng. I guessed she was calling me a pervert on the bus or something.
The little girl and I both realized this at the same time.
I'm thick-skinned, so I think it's okay.
The girl reacted as if she'd been electrocuted, her face instantly turning bright red.
It glared at me with a fierce look, and if looks could kill, I'd probably be dead by now.
She glared at me a few times, and when she realized it wasn't of any practical use, she took out a tissue from her small bag and wiped the milk off her face.
When she took out a tissue, I noticed that her bag contained a lot of things: keys, wallet, tissues, MP3 player, and one or two other women's items. I've always been curious how a woman's bag, which is so small, can hold so many things.
Doraemon?
I chuckled inwardly, but calmly apologized, "Sorry, I just squeezed out your... milk!"
I can't make the same mistake she did.
I can still tell the difference between milk and cow's milk.
One is an organ, and the other is food.
Her face was still flushed, both ashamed and angry. If there weren't so many people around, I felt she might have directly attacked my lower body.
Why does this pretty face turn red so easily?
I'm very curious.
While the car was moving smoothly, she threw the milk carton with two holes into the trash can.
She wanted to find another place to stand, but after a few more passengers got on, the bus became more and more crowded. If she hadn't been holding onto the handrail tightly, she probably would have been pushed into my arms.
Just then, as the round-faced girl looked down to take out her MP3 player from her bag, she suddenly stared intently at my large backpack the moment she looked up.
I stared at it for about five seconds.
Then, pointing at the bag, she said, "Hey, your bag looks like it's been slashed open?!"
I glanced at her in surprise, feeling as if she was retaliating for my unintentional behavior earlier.
But judging from her serious expression, it didn't seem fake.
I managed to turn the backpack over, and sure enough, there was a neat tear in the lower part of the backpack.
My expression suddenly changed. That place was where I kept that huge sum of five hundred yuan!
I reached in and touched the envelope, but couldn't feel anything inside. I had a bad feeling and pulled the envelope out with all my might. A knife cut that had just torn the envelope was right in front of me. The five hundred dollars inside had vanished!
I rely on!
When did this happen? Was it on the bus, when you got off the bus, or during the time you were on the bus?
Right now, there's no mirror. If there were, I reckon I'd see an extremely distorted face.
My thoughts raced as I carefully recalled every detail of getting off the car.
I checked my bag before leaving the station, and there was nothing wrong with it.
So, that only applies to the time after getting off the bus.
The bag was away from me for only that one period of time.
During the few minutes I was on the phone, I remember several groups of people bumping into me, but I didn't pay any attention.
I'm almost certain that someone attacked me during that period.
These people have such sharp eyes! How did they know I would put the small envelope containing money in that spot in my bag?
"Driver, stop the car, I want to get out!" I yelled. This was most of my life savings. I had to go back to them, or at least call the police!
The car was filled with noise, and the driver couldn't hear me at all. Even if he could, he wouldn't stop for me halfway through the journey.
The people next to me seemed unfazed, glancing at me casually without any other reaction, only simultaneously touching their own pockets!
The little round-faced girl looked at me strangely at my reaction.
"Is this your first time in Guangzhou? You don't know, this area around the train station is rife with petty theft; even the police can't keep up!"
I suddenly realized that what I thought was the bottom of the pit I fell into from Lao Liu's place was actually not; I was only halfway there! My liver is starting to ache!
