Xiu Gou's Taming Record

Chapter 46 The Feeling of Being in Love

Yu Heng walked slowly towards the school, the cigarette between his fingers flickering in the evening breeze.

As I passed by the food street, several stalls had already been set up, and the smell of cooking oil mixed with cumin wafted over.

A young couple stood in front of a barbecue stall, the girl playfully complaining to the boy, "Couldn't you put less spice in it?"

The boy chuckled, "Spicy food is so satisfying, how about you drink some of my Coke to calm down?"

Yu Heng glanced at it and clicked his tongue inwardly.

Youth is wonderful; you can even flirt over whether a skewer of grilled meat is spicy or not.

What was he doing at this age in his previous life?

Oh, he's also in a relationship, with He Mengyao.

But they weren't so affectionate back then; they always got straight to the point.

Thinking about it this way, being involved with these girls now actually makes me feel like I'm back in a normal relationship.

It did take him some time to start pursuing He Mengyao.

But after the relationship was confirmed, the progress was incredibly rapid.

Just a week later, the two of them checked into a hotel off campus.

He Mengyao was surprisingly proactive and skilled.

Yu Heng said, "Isn't this your first time?"

He Mengyao said it was her first time with someone, but didn't she use tools?

Yu Heng exclaimed, "Great!"

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but wonder if He Mengyao was doing crafts in her dorm right now.

As I walked to the school gate, my phone vibrated again.

Yu Heng took it out and saw that it was a voice message sent by Ning Yutong.

He clicked on it, and Ning Yutong's soft voice came through: "Yu Heng, I just tried on that JK uniform in the dorm. Do you want me to take a picture and show you if it suits you?"

It was followed by a cute emoji.

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow and typed back: "Sure, send it to me."

He walked towards the dormitory building while typing, and a few seconds later, the photo was sent.

Ning Yutong stood in front of the full-length mirror in her dormitory, wearing a light blue JK uniform and with her hair tied in a high ponytail, and gave a peace sign to the camera.

The dress fits her perfectly, making her waist look slim and her legs look long.

Yu Heng stared at the photo for two seconds and replied, "Okay, this outfit will do. Remember to bring a pair of white over-the-knee socks; a bigger contrast between the before and after transformation will look better."

Ning Yutong replied instantly: "Okay! I'll wear this this weekend!"

Yu Heng thought for a moment and typed: "Saturday morning, come over first, let's test the light."

I put my phone away and walked right to the dormitory entrance.

Pushing open the dormitory door, a strong smell of instant noodles hits you.

Hao Junran was slurping noodles from a stainless steel bowl when he said, "Hey, Heng-ge's back? Have you eaten yet?"

"I've eaten." Yu Heng draped his coat over the back of the chair. "Your diet is pretty consistent, isn't it? You're always eating Master Kong instant noodles."

"Isn't this cheaper?" Hao Junran chuckled. "By the way, the counselor just sent a notice in the group chat saying that our college is going to hold a freshman basketball tournament and asked if anyone in our class wanted to sign up."

Basketball game?

There really is such a thing.

He had just entered university and was bursting with energy. Whenever he saw this kind of activity, he would get excited like he was on steroids.

Not only did he sign up, but he also hit the jackpot.

They actually made it all the way to the finals and ended up winning the runner-up title in their department.

Yu Heng remembers clearly that He Mengyao came to watch the finals.

Although she probably came to cheer on her department that day.

So much so that once, when Yu Heng mentioned that their department didn't win the championship, it was all because she cheered for the opposing team.

Then that night, while he was exercising, he made her cheer him on.

"What are you thinking about?" Hao Junran tapped the rim of the bowl with his chopsticks. "Should we report it or not? The advisor said to give us a reply by tomorrow."

"Report it, why not?" Yu Heng straightened up. "In my past life... no, I was pretty good at basketball back in high school, so making up the numbers shouldn't be a problem."

"Sure!" Hao Junran perked up. "I'll sign up too! My skills aren't great, but I'm big enough to be a good rebounder!"

Hao Junran was indeed robust, not fat; he was nearly 1.9 meters tall and weighed almost 180 pounds.

Hou Xudong poked his head out: "Is that how you grab a rebound? You're just using your weight to push people over, aren't you?"

"You don't know anything!" Hao Junran retorted, "Basketball is inherently a contact sport!"

Yu Heng laughed: "That's true. If you stand under the basket, you're like a wall."

He was thinking to himself, "If I fight again this time, maybe I can win a championship?"

"Then you can talk to the counselor yourself," Hao Junran said, swiping his phone. "I'm not going to talk to her."

"Okay." Yu Heng climbed onto the bed and took out his phone.

Leaning against the wall, I opened WeChat and found Qin Lu's chat window.

I typed: "Advisor, I'm signing up for the basketball game."

After sending the message, he casually opened Qin Lu's WeChat Moments.

Her WeChat Moments is very clean; the most recent post was a repost of an article from the school's official WeChat account from half a month ago.

The title is "Innovative Paths for Aesthetic Education in the New Era".

Typical style of a college counselor.

Just then, my phone vibrated.

Qin Lu replied quickly: "Okay, I'll report it for you."

Just as Yu Heng was about to reply with "Thank you, counselor," another message popped up in the chat box: "Qin Ya seemed quite happy to be back today. Thank you for today."

He stared at the line of text for two seconds.

Qin Lu's tone seemed a little softer than usual?

It wasn't the kind of formal, businesslike politeness.

He typed back: "Qin Ya is quite sensible, she just needs someone to play with. If she wants to come to the live stream on weekends, just send her over anytime, I'm free anyway."

Qin Lu's phone displayed "[The other party is typing]" for a while before finally replying with only three words: "Thank you for your help."

Yu Heng narrowed his eyes as he looked at the reply, seemingly not feeling much closer to the person.

Never mind, I'll watch some TV and then go to sleep!

Yu Heng didn't watch Korean dramas at first either.

However, the current domestic TV dramas are too rubbish, the scripts are bad, the actors' acting skills are even worse, and he even thinks he could do some of them.

On the contrary, the scripts and the actors' abilities in Korean dramas are still very strong.

It's not bad for killing time.

At first, listening to Korean felt a bit awkward, but after listening to it for a while, it actually sounds quite nice.

The next morning, Yu Heng was woken up by Hao Junran's alarm clock.

This son of a bitch has an iPhone, and the alarm clock is set to the most basic electronic beep sound. He even set six alarms, one every five minutes.

Anyone who's heard it knows that the sound is like a death knell.

"Damn it..." Yu Heng poked his head out from his bunk, "Can you turn this piece of junk off?"

"Right away, right away..." Hao Junran stretched out a hand from under the covers, fumbled around the pillow for a while, finally found his phone and turned off the alarm.

The dormitory is finally quiet.

Yu Heng glanced at his phone; it was 7:20.

He resignedly climbed out of bed, slipped on his slippers, and went to wash up.

The water room was freezing cold; the tap water was so icy it made him shiver. "Damn it, can't the school turn on the heating earlier...? I'm on duty at 8 AM!"

A guy I didn't recognize was standing by the sink next to me, meticulously grooming his hair with hair wax in front of the mirror.

Yu Heng glanced at it and clicked his tongue inwardly.

I almost had a blind date last morning at 8 a.m.

After washing up and returning to the dormitory, Hao Junran was still sprawled on the bed, while Hou Xudong had already sat up and was squinting as he put on his socks.

"Mouse! Get up," Yu Heng kicked Hao Junran's bed frame. "If you don't get up now, you'll miss breakfast."

"Five minutes...just five minutes..." Hao Junran's muffled voice came from under the covers.

Yu Heng, too lazy to urge him any further, said, "Then I'll be going now."

"Wait for me!" Hao Junran sat up abruptly. "I'm coming!"

"Aren't you going to wash up?"

"I'm not washing anymore, let's go!"
