Xiu Gou's Taming Record

Chapter 69 Club Recruitment

It was only 7:40 when I left home.

The mornings at the end of October were indeed cool, with a chill in the air.

Yu Heng was only wearing a fleece-lined sweatshirt, and felt a bit bare around his neck, so he shrank back.

"Cold, aren't you?" Bai Xinran glanced at him from the side, "Serves you right for showing off."

"What did I brag about?" Yu Heng retorted. "What can I do if this hoodie doesn't have a hood?"

"You deserve to freeze to death." Bai Xinran said this, but took out a gray scarf from her pocket and threw it to him, "Here, take this, don't catch a cold and infect me."

Yu Heng took it and looked at it. The scarf was quite long and the material was soft.

"You even have something like this?" Yu Heng wrapped the scarf around himself, and it did make him much warmer. "Thank you, thank you!"

When the two arrived at the GG store on the commercial street, the store had just opened.

The boss was a man in his forties, squatting by the door smoking.

"Boss, get the roll-up banner." Yu Heng said as he walked over.

"Oh, Tangcheng Institute of Technology, right?" The boss stood up, stubbed out his cigarette, and said, "Wait here, I'll get it for you."

He turned and went into the store, and soon came out carrying two folded roll-up banners and a poster.

"That'll be 120 in total," the shopkeeper said.

Yu Heng scanned the code to pay and took the items.

Roll-up banners are not heavy, but they are bulky and not very convenient to carry.

"Let me get one for you." Bai Xinran reached out and took a roll-up banner.

The two walked towards the school one after the other.

There were many students on the road. Yu Heng glanced at them and realized that it was indeed a time of chaos when people dressed in all sorts of clothes in February and August.

Some people were bundled up like bears in down jackets, some wore hoodies with thin jackets over them, and some were even wearing short sleeves.

A boy wearing a short-sleeved shirt and shorts ran past him, making the hairs on his legs stand on end.

"Awesome," Yu Heng muttered to himself.

"What?" Bai Xinran didn't hear clearly.

"I have to say, that guy is really resistant to the cold." Yu Heng gestured with his chin toward the boy who ran past.

Bai Xinran glanced at it and smirked, "Young and energetic, huh?"

It was only 8:30 when the two arrived at the small square next to the activity center.

Many stalls have already been set up in the square, and various clubs are busy setting up.

Yu Heng found an open space, set up the roll-up banner, and then taped the posters to the tent's canvas.

The words "Starlight Society (Virtual Live Streaming Club)" are printed on it, along with Bai Xinran's image.

The document also included an introduction to the club and recruitment requirements.

Bai Xinran helped set up the tables and chairs, and then took out a few bottles of mineral water and a stack of registration forms from her bag.

"That's about it." Yu Heng clapped his hands and glanced around.

Next door is the guitar club, and further on is the anime club.

Several cosplayers have already put on their character costumes.

Those with bare shoulders and legs shivered in the cold wind.

Just as I finished, I saw Ning Yutong running over: "Yu Heng!"

When she ran over, the rise and fall of her chest was particularly noticeable.

Actually, Ning Yutong had been somewhat absent-minded ever since Yu Heng left the film club last night.

She only caught a glimpse of what happened next in the movie.

My mind was filled with questions about what urgent matter Yu Heng might have that was happening so late at night.

She sent Shen Yueling a message to subtly probe her, but couldn't get any information out of her. She only said that she was rushing to finish her manuscript in her dormitory.

Did something happen to that streamer?

She secretly turned her phone brightness down to the lowest setting and opened Bai Xinran's live stream, finding nothing unusual.

At that moment, she was wondering whether she should ask Yu Heng directly?

But if he doesn't want to tell himself, won't that make him seem like he has no boundaries?

Moreover, she has been struggling with whether or not to confess her feelings recently, and is very afraid of being rejected.

She's the kind of person who's very proactive, but once rejected, she'll hide away like an ostrich.

"Good morning, Yutong!" Bai Xinran greeted her first.

"Good morning, Sister Xinran!" Ning Yutong ran to the stall, catching her breath. "Am I late?" She tried to make her voice sound relaxed and natural, not wanting to reveal her anxiety from last night.

"No, I just finished." Yu Heng glanced at her. "Aren't you cold wearing so little?"

"It's alright," Ning Yutong said, placing the paper bag she was carrying on the table. "I brought hand warmers."

She took out several cups of hot milk tea from the paper bag: "These are for you, drink them while they're hot."

Actually, when she bought the milk tea, she specifically chose the flavor that Yu Heng liked, wondering if he would notice.

Bai Xinran took the cup: "Thank you."

"Is there anything I can do for you?" Ning Yutong asked, her eyes unconsciously glancing at Yu Heng.

"You can just stand here," Yu Heng said half-jokingly. "You're the most handsome guy in our club."

Ning Yutong blushed: "What...?"

But was he just saying that casually, or does he also have feelings for me?

There must still be some!

Otherwise, he would have touched his own leg at the movie theater last time!

"I'm serious," Yu Heng said, looking at her. "With your looks, you'd be a total loser just standing here."

Bai Xinran and Ning Yutong sat next to each other, chatting casually.

"Yutong, when are you going to post videos on your Douyin account?" Bai Xinran asked.

"I'll get it done once Yu Heng gets his hair cut," Ning Yutong said, glancing at Yu Heng. "It should be in the next day or two, right?"

She was actually really looking forward to it; this was the first project she had worked on with Yu Heng.

"Mm." Yu Heng didn't even look up. "I'll cut it when I get back tonight."

As they were talking, Hao Junran strolled over, followed by Liu Tianqi and Hou Xudong.

"Hey, Mr. Yu, are you open for business yet?" Hao Junran casually stood in front of the stall.

Yu Heng looked up: "Why are you here?"

"Come help!" Hao Junran patted his chest. "Didn't we say we wanted to join a club too? We should do our part, right?"

As he spoke, his gaze swept over Bai Xinran and Ning Yutong, and he chuckled twice.

Yu Heng kicked him: "Where are you looking?"

"Look what's wrong," Hao Junran said, rubbing his leg. "There's someone I haven't seen before. Who is this?"

"A club member, majoring in comics," Yu Heng said, without mentioning that Bai Xinran was a virtual streamer.

It is still necessary to keep the real information of virtual streamers confidential.

Liu Tianqi and Hou Xudong were studying the registration form on the table.

"This table is well-designed," Liu Tianqi said. "It's simple and clear."

"I designed it," Yu Heng said.

"Awesome." Hou Xudong gave a thumbs up.

With Hao Junran and the others joining, the stall became much more lively.

Hao Junran had a loud voice and would shout to anyone he met, "Hey classmate, come check out the virtual YouTuber club! The trendiest club ever!"

He actually managed to attract a few curious people.

Yu Heng was responsible for introducing the club's positioning and activities.

Bai Xinran occasionally added a few words, while Ning Yutong handed over the registration form and pen.

By 10 a.m., we had collected more than 20 registration forms.

"Sure," Hao Junran said, flipping through the application form. "The male-to-female ratio is about one to three."

"About the same," Yu Heng said. "That's about the same proportion of virtual streamers."

Just then, my phone rang.

Yu Heng took it out and saw that it was Shen Yueling.

He froze for a moment.

Why did this girl suddenly call after two days of no contact?

He walked to the stall and answered the phone: "Feeding?"

"Where are you?" Shen Yueling's voice came through the receiver, as indifferent as ever.

"Club recruitment, at the small square next to the second canteen," Yu Heng said. "What's up?"

"It's nothing, just asking." Shen Yueling paused for a moment, "I came to check."

"Now?"

"Um."

The phone hangs up.

Yu Heng looked at his phone screen and raised an eyebrow.
