Chapter 167 Treatment

Sisley's eyes trembled as she desperately resisted Felix's probing into her memories. Cecil, standing nearby, drew his wand, hesitating whether to attack.

Felix's previous performance was simply too exaggerated; he had absolutely no confidence.

But Felix had already gotten what he wanted, and he said softly, "Iphamoni...Iphamoni's student, that's how it is. But why? What kind of law has incurred this discontent?"

Sisley's face turned pale, and she kept her mouth tightly shut.

But Felix looked knowing. "Yes, the Rappaport Act... but I remember that law has been repealed. Is that what you were talking about?"

During the altercation, Celeste angrily yelled at the attackers, "It was abolished in 1965!" She was met with a barrage of insults and abuse, and was labeled a "liar," which is probably the crux of the matter.

The wizard named Cecil rubbed his chin dejectedly: "Only a small portion has been abolished."

Felix looked over, but Cecil turned his head away and explained in a low voice, "The remaining entries have been merged into other laws, especially those concerning Muggle relationships. The restrictions remain strict—Muggle-born wizards and first-generation half-bloods must report their relationship lists and undergo regular home visits by professionals from the Magical Congress. We also have a dedicated memory erasure team, ready to eliminate any 'redundant and dangerous' memories at any time."

Celeste said in a low voice, "To prevent the magical world from being exposed."

"Are there many students like this?" Felix asked Cecil.

"It depends on how you interpret it. Most likely, it's a mix of different races. But which side do you think they'd lean towards?"

"So, you're fighting a war you're destined to lose?"

The wizard closed his eyes in anguish.

Felix didn't say anything more; it was none of his business anyway. He was just suddenly feeling a bit irritable.

As his gaze swept over a pile of ruins, his expression suddenly changed, and he rapidly brandished his wand, sending large swaths of bricks, dust, and broken tables and chairs floating into the air. The others stared at him, bewildered.

At the edge of the ruins, the figure of a black-robed wizard emerged, blood pooling on his chest.

"Who is this?" Celeste screamed in terror, muttering to herself: Please don't let it be a student, please don't let it be a student...

The young Auror who had been taking care of Maxwell stared blankly. This... this seemed to be the magic he had used?

Felix strode forward, squatted down, and lifted the black mask to reveal a pale-faced witch who was also quite young.

The others stood around her anxiously. Her face was deathly pale, her chest was flat, and her blood mixed with the dust on the ground made her look like a corpse that had just been dug up.

"I...I killed someone? A student?" the young Auror murmured.

"It's over, everything is over!" Celeste collapsed to the ground.

Several Muggle research experts looked solemn, one of them removing his iris hat.

Felix remained silent, carefully examining the young witch. He gently placed his finger on the wound, and a wisp of black mist spread along his finger, quickly staining the tip of his index finger black.

"Is this a curse-type dark magic?" Felix asked the young Auror.

"Yes, yes."

Felix nodded and took out various bottles and jars from the ring.

"Is there any hope for her?" the young Auror asked hopefully, looking at Felix with the expression of a devout believer. "Can you bring her back to life?"

Everyone present looked at Felix with anticipation, hoping to hear a positive answer from him. At this moment, they hoped for a miracle.

"No, I can't," Felix said cruelly, then a second later he changed his tone, "but she's not dead."

He picked out a small black bottle and dripped the potion inside onto the witch's chest. The wound hissed and emitted wisps of black mist.

Then, Felix took out a small white bottle and dripped a clear liquid onto the wound, which healed quickly.

"She...she came back to life?" Celeste stammered.

Felix waited quietly. After about half a minute, the witch's chest heaved slightly, and he let out a long sigh of relief.

"You did it! You did it! From now on, you are the person I admire most!" The young Auror was so excited that he was incoherent.

Felix smiled, and said with deep emotion, "You have to thank one of my potions master friends; he was a huge help. Of course, you also have to thank me for accompanying him on his adventures..."

The potion in the small black bottle contains black root grass, the main ingredient of which was discovered by Felix and Damocles Belby during their exploration of the Forbidden Forest.

At the time, Belby told him that potions made from blackroot were incredibly effective at healing damage from dark magic. Upon returning home, he took some of the materials and gave them to Belby, who reciprocated by giving him a small vial of the potion two weeks later.

……

"Sir, your...your finger?" the young Auror said.

"Oh right, and this too, I almost forgot about it if you hadn't mentioned it." Felix stared at his jet-black index finger, gently twirling it, and a wisp of black mist was extinguished.

"Whoosh whoosh!"

One by one, figures appeared; reinforcements from the French Ministry of Magic had arrived.

"Mr. Moore," Felix greeted one of them.

"Mr. Haip? It's a pleasure to meet you. Please wait a moment, I need to take care of some business first, we can catch up later," said the middle-aged man with blond curly hair.

He turned and ordered his men, "Notify the treatment and memory teams to check the nearby Muggles. And where's Colbert? Tell him to come see me!"

Maxwell, who had just woken up, was dragged over to explain himself and angrily berated Celeste. His usually calm French was delivered with dramatic intonation and various profanities.

Celeste stood to the side with a dark expression.

Ten minutes later, Galsworth Moore, the Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, strode over and warmly shook Felix's hands. "Thank you so much for everything, Felix! Our lad can be a bit too impulsive sometimes, but we can't entirely blame him," he said, glancing sideways at the embarrassed Celeste and Cecil. "If it weren't for some people going too far, we would have been kept in the dark the whole time."

"I will report this matter to the International Federation of Wizarding Societies in its entirety, and I think Dumbledore will certainly not tolerate such a thing happening."

"We're also fighting crime, Mr. Moore," Celeste explained, taking a deep breath.

Moore glared with his ginger eyes and demanded loudly, "You're calling students who are still in school criminals?"

Celeste pursed her lips and said stiffly, "Age and breaking the law are two different things. You should be aware of that, Chief Moore!"

"Did they do anything drastic? Don't try to fool me, I know more than you think! Secret meetings, recruiting members, distributing leaflets, running a private newspaper, and writing anonymous letters... You probably threw all those letters in the trash without even glancing at them. That's why this happened today, isn't it?"

Felix was not interested in their argument and took his leave. Moore happily agreed and arranged to meet again later.

The next second, he appeared on the seventh floor of the hotel.

"Professor Bubbaji?" he called out from the corridor.

After a while, a door opened, and Bubbaji peeked out. When he saw Felix, he smiled and said, "Thank goodness, you're finally back."

"The attack is over," Felix said gently.
