A certain Hogwarts professor of runes

Chapter 230 Impact Diffusion

As the crowd dispersed, the young wizards continued their enthusiastic discussion about the couple's mirror. In a corner of the lounge, Harry remarked thoughtfully, "Fred and George must have referenced real-world telephones, but for now, it only allows for one-on-one calls."

"That call I made to you during the holidays...?" Ron said. "That's a really weird word!"

Harry recalled, "You were yelling so loudly that I felt like you were talking to someone across half a Quidditch pitch, as if you were afraid they wouldn't hear you."

"I got you into trouble that time; it sounded like your uncle answered the phone," Ron said hastily.

"Yeah, he gave me a good scolding after he hung up the phone, and almost shoved me back into the cupboard," Harry said nonchalantly.

Ron and Hermione looked at him with concern, and Hermione said angrily, "Your family is terrible!"

Harry shrugged. "This is the only place I can go this summer. Luckily, it's only for two months, and I can move out when I turn 18."

Ron suddenly said, "Why don't you come and spend the summer at the Burrow? It's the Quidditch World Cup next summer. My dad can get tickets from the Department."

Harry's heart skipped a beat. "May I?"

"Anyway, it's not the first time, my parents will definitely welcome you, not to mention Ginny..."

Harry's mood brightened, and even not being able to spend the weekend at Hogsmeade became insignificant. "I bet the Dursleys will let me go, especially after what I did to Aunt Maggie."

Hermione thought for a moment and said, "Harry, judging from the Dursleys' address, you should live not far from London. You're welcome to come to my house as a guest. When you do," she laughed, "I'll introduce you to my parents as the wizard boy Mick."

"What is that?" Harry asked.

"The protagonist of a magical comic book comes from the wizarding world," Hermione said.

"How come I've never heard of this before?" Ron looked at her suspiciously.

"Because it was only published recently. I bought it from Flourish and Blotts through Owl a couple of days ago." Hermione hurriedly ran back to her dorm, and soon returned carrying a stack of books, slamming them onto the small round table with a "bang".

Harry fiddled with the books. One was clearly a large volume, titled "Magic in the Muggle World." The rest were a set of comic books, slightly thinner but larger in size. The cover depicted an amusement park, with a little boy dressed as a wizard peeking out from the entrance. The book was titled "The Adventures of Little Wizard Mick."

Ron glanced fearfully at the massive book, not even touching it. He casually flipped through a comic book and quickly became engrossed. "Wow, this is really interesting!"

Harry noticed the author's name on the cover: Felix Heap. "This is Professor Heap's work?" he exclaimed in surprise. It was hard to imagine that Professor Heap would create a comic book.

He thought he was seeing things, and subconsciously opened the huge book "Magic in the Muggle World," which was filled with dense small print and various illustrations, making him dizzy.

This is more like Professor Hyp's style!

Ron closed the book and carefully examined the bottom right corner of the cover. "It really is! Wait, LCA Comic Book Publishing, oh my god, that's my favorite publisher!" He was so excited that he danced around, only to realize after a while that Harry and Hermione were looking at him blankly.

"This is the famous LCA! Their 'Adventures of Martin Miguel' was my favorite when I was a kid!"

Harry suddenly remembered that he had seen this comic book in Ron's room during his last visit to the Burrow, but the magic in it had almost disappeared, and the character wearing a beret in the book moved very choppy, making it difficult to read.

He opened a brand new copy of "The Adventures of Mick the Wizard of Oz," randomly flipping to a page. This page was divided into nine scenes, from the first scene to the last, telling the story of Mick the Wizard of Oz's first encounter with a pop-up toaster when he visited a friend's house.

Seeing Mick pointing in surprise at the bread slice that suddenly popped up in the comic book, his mouth agape, accompanied by the words in the book: "This is magic, absolutely magic!" Harry couldn't help but laugh. He had seen bread machines at the Dursleys' house before, but he never expected to see them from a different perspective.

He even began to wonder if Ron would have the same gap-opening expression of surprise when he saw the actual bread machine.

Harry and Ron quickly huddled together and started reading from the first page in order.

"Wait, I haven't finished reading yet," Ron said anxiously as Harry was about to turn the page.

Hermione looked at them, somewhat puzzled. "While I admit this comic book is great, you don't have to be so dramatic, do you?"

Ron looked up. "Exaggerated? It's absolutely the best comic book of the last decade or so. I bet it's comparable to The Adventures of Martin Miguel, and speaking of which, Martin's book is actually a bit outdated..."

Harry honestly replied, "I think it's great too. It's like my ordinary life of the past eleven years has suddenly become extraordinary."

“But—” Hermione said, “Don’t you think the book ‘Magic in the Muggle World’ is more logical and engaging?” She turned to a page in the massive book. “Look, it describes the prototype of the steam engine, and even incorporates levitation magic to conceive of a large airship…”

Ron looked up blankly. "What are you talking about, Hermione? What's a steam engine? What's a large airship?"

Seeing that Hermione was about to force a science lesson, Ron quickly hid behind the comic book and shouted, "Hey Harry, look! Why is the bread slice bouncing up...?"

His voice attracted their roommate, Seamus Finigan, who in turn brought over Neville and Dean Thomas, who pointed at the comic book.

Some of the young wizards, thinking there was something interesting to see, also gathered around.

Dean Thomas, who grew up in the Muggle world, saw one of the pages and couldn't help but describe it: "This is an ice cream machine. It's very convenient. You just need to add ingredients such as cream and milk, and you can get a continuous supply of ice cream."

The others stared at him blankly. Dean said proudly, "My uncle has a mobile ice cream truck. I used to play on it when I was a kid." Ron looked at Dean with envy. He also wanted to have an endless supply of ice cream.

Hermione tried several times to explain the wonders of steam engines and large airships to the young wizards, but only received polite glances in return, as everyone then turned their attention to the comic books.

Percy didn't show much interest either, but he noted down the title. "I think it's necessary to recommend this to Mrs. Pince; Hogwarts needs this book."

Hermione was completely baffled as to why people disliked steam engines and airships.

When Hermione brought up the question after Ancient Runes class the next day, Felix laughed: "Granger, you have a special... love for knowledge, but you can't expect others to be as interested in slightly dry knowledge as you are."

That book is for adults; it can even be used as a reference book, where you can look up the relevant entries when needed.

Oh, right, here's the list of members of the Spellbook Club, and these coins. I need you to distribute them to the students on the list. You can ask Percy Weasley for help; he's the student council president.

Hermione had no objection; she simply looked at the stack of bronze knuckles, each bearing an image of an ouroboros. She couldn't resist picking one up for a closer look: "Is this a thermal knuckle?"

“That’s right, I just made a quick change. It was Fred and George who inspired me; they can heat up and display text,” Felix said. “The date for the first club meeting hasn’t been set yet. My schedule is full lately, so it might be mid-November.”

Hermione nodded, preparing to put away the list and coins, but she couldn't help but frown when she saw the names Draco Malfoy, Daphne Greengrass, and Pansy Parkinson.

Felix turned and waved to Harry. "Potter, come over here!"

Harry, who was waiting for Hermione at the door, walked over and looked at Professor Hyp with some trepidation. His paper was still in the final stages, and he didn't want to ask him for it now.

Fortunately, Felix didn't ask about the paper. He whispered, "Harry, do you still have that spyglass with you?"

Harry pulled the miniature viewing mirror out of his pocket, and Felix took it. "Wait a minute," he said, then tapped it repeatedly with his wand. Soon, Felix drew a thin thread from the viewing mirror, which he quickly guided to a Galleon.

"What is this?" Harry asked, looking surprised.

"A kind of synchronization magic," Felix explained. "Once the pocket peephole is triggered, I'll get the message immediately, no matter where you are."

Harry realized that Professor Hyp was concerned for his safety, just like Mr. Weasley. He had recently sent a reply in which he seriously criticized the three of them for trying to find out Sirius Black's secrets, deeming it "reckless, undesirable, and unnecessary, and that staying safely in the school was the best option."

In comparison, he preferred Professor Hyp's approach; at least he didn't intend to lock himself in a cage.

Over the next few days, the young wizards enjoyed their first Hogsmeade weekend of the new school year, and many had a wonderful time.

For example, the Weasley twins went to Joko's joke shop to buy a batch of stink bombs. In their words, "Without these cute, smelly little guys, we'd inevitably feel flustered and lost..." "We feel uneasy whenever we see Filch, like something's missing."

The Halloween dinner was wonderful, with the ghosts in the castle putting on a perfect show. But soon, the young wizards were completely absorbed by the upcoming first Quidditch match.

On the first Saturday of November, thunder rumbled, winds howled, and torrential rain poured down.

I'm so happy to suddenly discover that this book has a second patron! Thank you to the patron "不见月色染天澜" for the generous donation.

In addition, there will be extra chapters for the Alliance Leader. Currently, I owe the Alliance Leader three chapters for the Suit or White Shirt, and the new Alliance Leader seven chapters, for a total of ten chapters. I will pay back slowly.
