"The grain in the Imperial Army's granary disappeared last night; it was stolen. The team leader said that you and she had been investigating, but you hadn't found anything, so she asked me to join the investigation as well."

As Fu Yangshan spoke, he glanced at Lu Chen with disdain.

In his view, it would be easy to investigate how such a large amount of grain could disappear overnight from the granary, given the sheer quantity.

Lu Chen and Matsumoto Kiyoko have been investigating for several days, but they haven't made any progress at all. They're utterly useless.

"I might as well be the team leader."

Lu Chen ignored him, his expression clearly smug.

Fu Yangshan slammed his hand on the table and stood up abruptly.

Hearing the noise, Lu Chen turned around and glanced at him, then stood up without saying a word, turned around, and walked towards Matsumoto Kiyoko's office next door.

Seeing that Lu Chen ignored him and walked out the door, Fu Yangshan hurriedly followed with a grim expression.

Hearing the footsteps behind him, Lu Chen knew without looking that it was Fu Yangshan who had caught up.

Ignoring him, Lu Chen knocked on Matsumoto Kiyoko's office door and walked in after she responded.

"Team leader, I found some information last night."

As soon as he entered the office, Lu Chen spoke directly.

Fu Yangshan, who was following behind him, looked grim. He hadn't expected Lu Chen to find out the news before him, which made him even more jealous of Lu Chen.

"What news? Don't tell me it's just some false information again."

There was some noise in the granary last night, but when I went to check, there was nothing there, and no grain was missing.

They waited until late at night, thinking nothing would happen, but to their surprise, the food disappeared again shortly after they entered the tent.

This shocked Kiyoko Matsumoto; in just over ten minutes, the food was gone.

Lu Chen scratched the back of his head and smiled awkwardly. He had been confused last time and had given Matsumoto Kiyoko a clearly wrong discovery.

This made Matsumoto Kiyoko somewhat distrustful of Lu Chen, and even doubt Kuroda's judgment.

"Team leader, last night, well, it's normal for a young person my age to be like this. I went to the specialty street with my friends, and when we came back at night, we saw someone moving things, it looked like opium."

Lu Chen spoke up, saying all this simply to make Matsumoto Kiyoko think he was a hard worker.

"Alright, stop arguing, Lu Chen. Where is that? Did you see who they are?"

Kiyoko Matsumoto frowned, waved her hand to interrupt Fu Yangshan, and turned to look at Lu Chen, asking a question.

There are no clues about the missing grain. This is the only thing that is somewhat related to the grain, although it is only in close proximity and may just be a coincidence.

Fu Yangshan laughed twice, pointing at Lu Chen with a mocking expression. He believed that the loss of grain could not possibly be related to the Green Gang.

At the same time, he did not forget to express his loyalty to Japan in front of Kiyoko Matsumoto.
