"Why are there so many messages?" Han Che had expected there would be a lot of messages, but he didn't expect there to be so many.

I suddenly felt a bit overwhelmed, not for any other reason, but simply because there were so many unread messages, which gave me a sense of dread.

After a brief mental preparation, I found a clean spot by the river to sit down and tapped on the unread messages.

The top message was sent by Mule. He sent many messages, almost every day he was not in the player world, there were several messages.

"Brother Han, why aren't you replying to my messages?"

"Brother Han, Sister Bai is asking when you're coming back."

"Brother Han, are you in trouble?"

"Brother Han, reply to me when you see this message."

"Brother Han, are you still alive?"

It's always the same kind of message, like a broken record, a daily greeting at the same time every day. The last one was sent earlier today.

Han Che's hair was mostly white, though there weren't many strands, each one was quite long.

"Boss Han, thank you for what happened last time. Mule told me you rescued them at the dam. I'll treat you to dinner another day."

"Boss Han, what have you been up to lately? Come visit the club sometime."

"Boss Han, if you see this message, please call me back. I have something I'd like to talk to you about."

In comparison, Xiaobai's message was much more measured, but that's not enough for 99+.

He continued scrolling down. There were several more text messages from unknown numbers, such as "XX Club will help you clear Tide Prison without taking damage," "XX Club cordially invites you to join," and "XX team's research on a new type of plaster will give you a superhuman physique."

Han Che glanced at it briefly; the picture accompanying the plaster guy's post was a photo of John's team.

"This is outrageous," Han Che thought to himself.

Han Che's phone vibrated, and a new message came in. He opened it and found that he had been added to the 78 Club group at some point, and most of the messages were from the group.

Qiu Ying: "Any work today? @Xiao Bai"

Mule: "With the Zero Dam in such a state lately, how can there be any work? Just wait and watch the live broadcast tomorrow."

Xiao Bai: "No tasks. We'll be doing a live stream of Dam Zero tomorrow. Let's analyze the content together."

Qiu Ying: "OK, then I won't go to the company if there's nothing else."

Xiao Bai: "Okay."

Mule: "I'm not going either."

Xiao Bai: "You're so lazy!"

Mule: "Huh? No, why did Sister Ying say it's okay if I don't go?"

Xiao Bai: "I asked you to contact Boss Han, did you manage to get in touch?"

Mule: "Boss Han seems to have vanished into thin air. How can I contact him?"

Han Che stared at the constantly updating information on the screen and chuckled.

He placed his phone on his lap, looked up, and calmly gazed at the river.

The river is so clear you can see the stones at the bottom.

The sun rose higher, shining on the water and making it sparkle.

The player world does seem more vibrant and alive than the prison.

He sat for a while, blew the breeze from the river, and then stood up to brush the dust off his trousers.

Qiu Ying: "Boss Han went to Dam Zero with you guys and then went missing. It must have been your actions that angered him. /Eating popcorn"

Mule: "Your Honor, we've been wronged! We didn't do anything!"

Old Zhou: "Have you considered which big club secretly poached Boss Han?"

After the message was sent, the lively group fell silent; perhaps this was the answer everyone had expected.

Boss Han: "Nobody poached me, so I'm back."

Mule replied instantly.

Mule: "Boss Han!!!"

Mule: "Where are you? I'll come get you!"

Han Che looked around, found a road sign, and sent his location.

Mule: "Wait for me! Twenty minutes!"

Han Che put his phone in his pocket and leaned against the railing by the river to wait.

The wind blew across the river, carrying the salty, fishy smell of aquatic plants.

On the highway in front of him, the city center of the player world was still the same, with cars coming and going and people coming and going, not much different from when he left.

Han Che leaned there quietly, staring blankly at the traffic on the highway. He had been a homebody for so long in his previous life, but he never thought he would enjoy watching people come and go so much.

Not long after, the sound of a car engine came from afar. A white sedan turned from the intersection, driving very fast, the tires screeching on the ground.

The car stopped in front of Han Che, the window rolled down, and Mule's face peeked out.

"Brother Han! It really is you! You're finally back! No time to explain, get in the car!"

Han Che waved and greeted them, then opened the passenger door and got in. Mule stepped on the gas, and the car sped off.

"Brother Han, where have you been these past few days? I can't get in touch with you!" Mule asked as he drove, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, but his mouth never stopped. "Sister Bai has asked me several times, she can't reach you, she almost drove me crazy!"

Han Che leaned back in his seat, glanced at the mule's profile, then turned to look at the street scene outside the window. "I went back to my hometown."

"Hometown?" Mule paused, then asked, "Why can't we contact them when we go back home?"

"There's no signal in the mountains."

The mule glanced back at Han Che with a hint of shock, then quickly turned back to look at the road. Knowing Han Che didn't want to say more, he didn't press the matter.

Mule's mouth was never idle along the way. He was either talking about what had happened in the dangerous area recently, or about who in the club had been doing and what kind of strange customers they had encountered.

Han Che responded casually, but he didn't find it annoying. Surprisingly, the feeling of having someone to share with was quite nice.

The car drove for more than twenty minutes and arrived back at the familiar office building.

The mule parked the cart, turned off the engine, and turned to look at Han Che.

"Brother Han, Sister Bai is waiting for you at the club. She said she has something important to discuss with you."

Han Che nodded, opened the car door, and got out. Mule followed behind him, and the two walked into the office building one after the other.

Ding!

The elevator doors opened, startling Han Che.

A group of people were standing at the elevator entrance. Upon closer inspection, I recognized them as Xiaobai and his friends.

Xiao Bai, Wang Kuo, Qiu Ying who said she wasn't coming, Lao Zhou whom they had only met once, and A Kai, the young receptionist Han Che met when he first came to Club 78, were all gathered around the elevator exit.

Han Che felt a chill run down his spine. How could there be so many people? He was surrounded! Had he been exposed?

A bead of sweat silently formed on Han Che's forehead. He was already prepared to retrieve ASh-12 from his system space, just a moment before the killing intent sense appeared...

Before Han Che's panicked eyes, a burst of powerful music suddenly rang out!

Say goodbye to all your troubles! Say hi to all your happiness!

A huge light board was held high, and everyone gathered around Han Che, who had just come out of the elevator, jumping around excitedly.

Xiao Bai shouted a loud welcome, "A warm welcome home to Boss Han!"

The others cheered in unison, "A warm welcome home to Boss Han!"

The loud music gradually stopped, and after a few seconds of stunned silence, Han Che realized what was happening. Now that his scalp wasn't numb anymore, he was digging his toes into the ground instead.

"Uh... thank you... thank you everyone." Han Che waved awkwardly to the crowd.

"Oh!" The crowd cheered and escorted Han Che through the club's gate.

After everyone had left, Mule squeezed out of the elevator and shouted, "Hey! Forgot about me?!"

No one paid him any attention. Mule sighed helplessly, then scratched the back of his head and muttered to himself, "What just happened? Why did I feel that Boss Han was radiating that murderous intent again..."

The mule couldn't understand it; this shouldn't be the case in this environment. "Maybe it's just my imagination..."
