Delta: Who are you saying has suffered a loss of strength?
Chapter 418 The Feast at Hongmen
In the warden's office, both of them were already a little sleepy at this time, but this phone call instantly woke them up.
This made Qi Yuzhe, who had been lounging on the sofa, sit up straight. "So what's this? A trap?"
"I don't know..." Han Che shook his head; he didn't understand what the call meant either.
Just as Qi Yuzhe said, Han Che didn't think there was any problem with the Hafk Group asking him, the warden, to attend a meeting.
But what's strange is why it's specifically called a raven, and why it's addressed with such a respectful title as "Your Excellency" to a prisoner locked up in jail.
How could the Hafk Group not know Raven's identity? If they really didn't, they wouldn't have specifically called him to a meeting.
"Has the Hafk Group ever called you to a meeting before?" Qi Yuzhe asked.
"No, the last time the Hafk Group contacted me, it was to find a player who had gotten lost in prison," Han Che recalled.
This happened a while ago, but Han Che remembers it clearly: "What they wanted most were the three players from Bald Eagle who had lost their minds, namely the three members of John's team."
"They specifically target brain-computer interface (BCI) users who have lost their minds?" Qi Yuzhe's brow twitched. He knew the people Han Che was talking about; they were being held in solitary confinement cells on the bottom floor of the prison.
Unlike other players who are lost and confused, they are still able to have normal conversations and interactions.
"Looks like you didn't give it to me."
Han Che nodded. "I told them to take John, whom I crippled, out to hand over. As for these two, I told them I killed them and didn't let them take them."
"Hafk wants them, and it's definitely not for any good reason, but I still don't understand what they want from those people."
The fact that the Hafk Group wanted these three brain-computer interface players piqued Han Che's curiosity.
After that incident, Han Che took the time to visit them several times, but without any progress or results. Later, he got busy and didn't have time to pay attention to it anymore.
"What's the connection between the beginning and the end?" Qi Yuzhe murmured to himself, his hand unconsciously reaching for the back of his neck. "Han Che, can you help me remember? In the game from my previous life, what was the connection between Raven and Hafk? I was just playing the game and didn't pay much attention to the backstory. Can you help me recall?"
"I only remember the general outline." Han Che leaned back in his chair, pondered for a moment, and then slightly raised his gaze to look at the ceiling.
"I remember that Raven was Asara's prince, but his uncle wanted to usurp the throne, so he framed Raven, saying that he had betrayed Asara and colluded with Hafk to sell out the country, which led to Raven being imprisoned."
"Later, Hafk found Raven, pretending to help him, but actually using him to conduct brain-computer interface experiments."
"The experiment ultimately failed, so they threw him into the Tidal Prison, where he was eventually consumed by his brain and hatred, going insane and obsessed with revenge. That's roughly how it went."
"But I don't have a brain-computer interface yet, right?" After hearing this, Qi Yuzhe sat up straighter. He turned around with his back to Han Che, pulled down his collar a little, and showed Han Che the back of his neck.
Han Che looked at the small patch of skin on Qi Yuzhe's exposed neck. There was nothing there, smooth and clean, without any implants or scars. "Yes, there's nothing there."
Qi Yuzhe pulled his collar back, turned around, and retorted, "In the original story, Tidal Prison was a human experimentation site, specifically for people whose brain-computer interfaces failed. So why are you locking me up here when I don't even have a brain-computer interface?"
"Just a quick thing." Han Che chuckled when he heard the question. "You think we won't arrest you if we don't put a brainwashing device on you? Tide Prison is so big, it's just a matter of adding more people to the mix."
"But then again, hasn't Hafk always operated this way? Abducting poor people from Asara for experiments?" Han Che said seriously. "It's a pity the guards and prisoners have no memory of what happened before they came to Tide Prison, otherwise we could just ask them."
"You guys are really wicked..." Qi Yuzhe rolled his eyes at Han Che, "But even if, as you say, there's no other reason for arresting me, what's the purpose of calling me to this meeting?"
"From the perspective of the Hafk Group, I'm just a worthless prisoner. What's there to bring up in public? They could just give you, the warden, an order to kill or torture me—it's all just a matter of a word."
"That hits the nail on the head. Why did I invite you?" Han Che frowned and pinched his chin with his hand.
Qi Yuzhe continued, "And it was an 'invitation.' I wouldn't be so surprised if they wanted you to detain me, so why the 'invitation'?"
Silence fell once again in the warden's office. What exactly was the Hafk Group up to?
After a period of silence, Han Che spoke first, "Since you came here, have you had any dealings with the Hafk Group? I'm talking about you, Qi Yuzhe, not Raven."
"You mean after you were reborn here?" Qi Yuzhe thought for a moment, still without much clue. "The biggest connection we had was meeting a guy named Geheros..."
"Hmm?" At this point, Qi Yuzhe's expression suddenly froze as he recalled a small incident that had happened before.
"Han Che? I don't know much about his backstory. Do you remember something I told you before?" Qi Yuzhe frowned, searching his memory for clues.
"I said my system's voice sounds like a female announcer, and you said yours is the same. Whose voice is it again?"
"Clara?!" Han Che's eyes widened in surprise. "Yeah! Your system voice is Hafk's voice actor?"
Qi Yuzhe nodded. "The voice in my system is exactly the same as the voice-over for the Hafk Group in the game."
"That voice is naturally suited to be the system voice, so I didn't find it strange..." After saying this, he fell silent for a while, as if he was re-examining the detail that he had overlooked for a long time.
"But this is the only place I can think of that's related to Hafk right now..."
But what exactly do all these things prove?
A brief silence fell over the warden's office once again.
Qi Yuzhe's eyes were fixed on the water glass he had placed on the coffee table, but his gaze was completely unfocused, and his pupils were trembling slightly.
After a long while, he finally spoke, his voice even lower, "Han Che, I suddenly have a somewhat absurd idea."
Qi Yuzhe slowly turned his head to look at Han Che, and their eyes met in mid-air.
"Do you think that in this world, I, this raven, might actually be one of Hafk's?"
