Delta: Who are you saying has suffered a loss of strength?
Chapter 425 All attendees have arrived.
The atmosphere in the conference room was a mess thanks to Reis, but it was definitely less oppressive now.
This person was like a mobile noise source; his mouth never stopped from the moment he sat down, asking a question every now and then, which annoyed Sayid and Qi Yuzhe to no end.
Even Demulan gets teased by him every now and then.
Qi Yuzhe's head was throbbing from his shouting, and he finally snapped, "Can you please be quiet for a bit?"
Reese replied, "I was just worried you guys would get bored," and then continued talking as he was supposed to.
Said maintained a completely unresponsive attitude throughout, as if Reis didn't exist.
The atmosphere in the conference room was a mess thanks to Reis, but it was certainly less oppressive now.
Interestingly, aside from that one time he spoke to Raven, he never actually spoke to Han Che directly.
Time passed a while longer amidst Reese's incessant shouting.
Han Che observed silently. Based on his current understanding of the dangerous area, all the map bosses should have arrived.
Now all that's missing is Jacob himself, the one who convened this meeting.
Less than a minute of silence passed on Reese's end before he started again, "Damn it, how long has it been? Why hasn't Jacob arrived yet? Is he that arrogant?"
"What audacity! It's not enough to just manage your own people; you have to drag our Asara people into this too!"
He raised his voice a few decibels, as if shouting towards the door, "I'll blow him to bits sooner or later!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the tightly closed door to the conference room was pushed open from the outside.
Everyone in the room fell silent, their gazes all turning towards the doorway.
The person who walked in was wearing a black suit, with a neat white shirt collar, no tie, and the top button was undone.
Her black hair wasn't styled, and although it wasn't messy, some gray hairs that didn't match her age could be seen at her temples.
He walked into the conference room unhurriedly, a faint smile on his face. "Who's going to blow me away?"
Although he dressed modestly, his aura was very powerful. The moment he appeared, people inexplicably felt that this person was the protagonist who had summoned them here, Jacob Hafk.
Reis pulled his chair back from its reclining position, his four legs landing on the ground again. He didn't reply, only letting out a cold snort.
This time, however, it wasn't Hafk's soldier who opened the door for him; he followed Jacob into the conference room.
It turned out that this person was also a participant in the meeting, and everyone then turned their attention to him.
But this person was neither a secretary nor a clerk; his clothing and appearance were completely different from Jacob's.
Her blonde hair was meticulously styled, with every strand looking as if it had been carefully combed.
He was wearing a green striped suit jacket with a peak lapel, and a brooch with a special symbol was pinned to the lapel.
His dark shirt, paired with a red tie, made him stand out more than anyone else in the meeting room.
Jacob walked to the head of the conference table, and the blond man walked around him after Jacob stopped and stood in the deputy position next to the head of the table.
When Han Che and Demulan stood up at the same time as Jacob stopped, they stood up straight and looked toward the head of the table.
Jacob nodded slightly and looked around the room.
All six attendees were present. The three people in the row on the right were the blond man, Said, and Reis.
The three people in the left row are Raven, Warden, and Demulan.
Interestingly, the people in Hafk's camp are currently standing with Jacob and have not yet taken their seats.
None of the people in Asara's camp stood up; they all sat in a nonchalant manner.
"Please don't stand on ceremony, everyone!" Jacob smiled slightly and gestured for everyone to sit down.
Then everyone sat down.
Immediately, the blond man sitting in the second-in-command position spoke first, "Everyone, welcome to the headquarters of the Hafk Group for this meeting."
"You may not know me yet, so let me introduce myself. You can call me Anderson, the current Minister of Efficiency of Hafk. I will be chairing this meeting."
Han Che listened silently, but inwardly he wondered, "Minister of Efficiency? What kind of position is that? I've never heard of it before."
After introducing himself, Anderson paused slightly, as if waiting for everyone's attention to focus on him. "The theme of this meeting is to encourage all the map leaders to cooperate sincerely. Our Hafk Group is currently at a critical juncture and needs your support and cooperation!"
"As you all have sensed, those so-called players outside have become increasingly arrogant lately, constantly invading our territory and plundering our resources. Now they're even planning to unite against us. You should all be aware of this. Therefore, we must have new countermeasures. The new phase of the Hafk Group is for this purpose..."
Anderson was interrupted by a voice from below the stage before he could finish speaking.
"What business is it of us Asara people what you Hafk do?" Said's voice came from behind the mask, full of dissatisfaction and sarcasm.
Anderson was taken aback by the sudden interruption, his words caught in mid-air, and he turned to Sayid.
"You Hafk people have been burning, killing, and looting on our territory, and now you expect us to help you?"
"Exactly!" Reis slammed his fist on the table and chimed in, "You're the ones who invaded, we're the ones who suffered, and now you want our help? Dream on!"
Anderson looked confused for a moment, then anger gradually appeared in his eyes, and his hands trembled involuntarily.
Han Che looked at Anderson's reaction, then at Jacob, who hadn't spoken a word in the main seat, and suddenly felt that something was not quite right.
Would Hafk so confidently ask the Assaras for help?
Even if they were to search, they should be looking for nobles like Asara who support Hafk, not these three.
If the Hafk Group wanted to cooperate with the Asaras, they should have approached the nobles on the Asaras who were already close to Hafk. Why did they choose these three?
A rebel leader, a mad prince who had undergone brain-computer interface experiments with Hafk, and a pure terrorist—these three people don't seem like the kind of people Hafk would actively seek to cooperate with.
Something's not right... something feels off!
At that moment, Jacob reached out and placed his hand on Anderson's wrist, then said, "Everyone, calm down."
Jacob spoke calmly, "I think we have some misunderstanding. Please hear me out."
Jacob smiled and said, "Asara and Hafk here have no hatred for each other; we are one."
Listening to Jacob's words, everyone felt that his smile was hypocritical; this kind of official talk was indeed what a high-ranking leader would say.
However, the next sentence caused everyone's expression to change drastically.
"Here, you can drop your pretenses; I know your true identities."
"Fellow transmigrators..."
