Northeast: My Absurd Woman

Chapter 66 Good Things Happen in the Woods

Yang Wuni didn't see Hu Xiao, so she greeted his mother first.

"Young man, someone is looking for you."

Hu Xiao's mother dropped what she was doing and ran into the house to call Hu Xiao.

After a while, Hu Xiao came out following his mother.

It looks like she's weaving a basket; she hasn't even taken off her apron.

He was still as slovenly as ever, and his hair was a messy, spiky clump.

"You...want to see me about something?"

Hu Xiao carefully examined Yang Wuni, but still couldn't recognize her, so he asked her a question.

"Hu Xiao, I am Guan Shuyun's brother's wife."

My older sister asked me to come find you; she's waiting for you in the grove outside the village.

Yang Wuni lowered her voice; she didn't want Hu Xiao's mother to hear.

"Mother, Guan Shuyun came to see me. I'll go check on her and be right back."

Hu Xiao turned around and told his mother what Yang Wuni had said, speaking very loudly.

"My son, tell Guan Shuyun that your mother no longer hates her father."

As long as she marries you and lives a good life with you, that's enough.

My mother is getting old now, and her health is deteriorating day by day.

"If you're all alone in the future, your mother won't be able to close her eyes in peace."

When Hu Xiao's mother heard the name Guan Shuyun, her eyes suddenly lit up.

He grabbed Hu Xiao's hand like a normal person and spoke to her in an almost pleading tone.

"Mom, I'll go see what they want from me. Don't worry."

This isn't about whether our family hates her father or not.

Hu Xiaoan helped his mother into the house and changed into a faded blue denim outfit before following Yang Wuni.

When the two arrived at the edge of the grove, Yang Wuni pointed inside and told Hu Xiao to go in by himself.

I found a spot with lots of leaves, leaned against a tree, closed my eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

The two chatted until almost noon before finally walking out hand in hand.

Yang Wuni, who had just woken up, opened her eyes and looked at the two people.

You could tell from her rosy cheeks and the leaves on her disheveled clothes.

The two, their passion ignited, consummated their marriage in the grove.

"Sis, I haven't taken my medicine yet, let's hurry back!"

Seeing that the two were reluctant to part, Yang Wuni had no choice but to find a reason to urge them on.

Yang Wuni walked in front, with Guan Shuyun and Hu Xiao holding hands behind her.

After walking a long way, Guan Shuyun pushed Hu Xiao to stop him from seeing her off any further.

"Sis, you're really bold! If my aunt knew about you and Hu Xiao, she'd break your legs!"

Yang Wuni helped Guan Shuyun remove the leaves and dry grass from her body and hair.

He made no attempt to tease her or scare her.

"Wu Ni, I'm not afraid of my mother at all. I'm going to get pregnant."

As long as I am pregnant with Hu Xiao's child.

My mother and brother simply can't do anything with me.

Guan Shuyun straightened her back confidently and shouted into the grove.

"Sis, I think that Hu Xiao looks all blind, but he's pretty bold."

Don't be fooled by his honest and simple appearance.

He might be playing dumb to fool you, and once he gets you home, he might treat you badly.

Yang Wuni remembered Hu Xiao and Zheng Meizhi's affair and tried to remind Guan Shuyun.

"Wu Ni, he told me about Hu Xiao and Zheng Meizhi."

It wasn't his fault; Zheng Meizhi pulled down his pants first.

Even if he's a coward, he's still a man; how could he not be tempted by a woman?

Guan Shuyun has now given her heart to Hu Xiao.

This man, who wasn't even as tall as three blocks of tofu, was more reliable than anyone else in her heart.

"Sis, Hu Xiao really doesn't hide anything from you, he even dares to tell you this."

"I can see that. He really doesn't have any ulterior motives towards you." Yang Wuni praised Hu Xiao, giving him a thumbs up.

Guan Shuyun leaned on Yang Wuni's shoulder like a little woman, and the two of them returned to Zhangzhuang.

"Yang Wuni, where did you run off to? You almost scared me to death, didn't you?"

As soon as the two entered the courtyard, they were met with a barrage of scolding from Zhang Changyao.

"Zhang Changyao, what's there to be afraid of when I'm with my older sister?"

Yang Wuni rolled her eyes and went into the house without paying any attention to Zhang Changyao.

"Changyao, Wuni and I are going out to run some errands. Why are you sweating so much?"

Guan Shuyun was so preoccupied with her own affairs that she had completely forgotten that Yang Wuni was still ill.

"Sister, why didn't you ask me before taking her away? Wu Ni's health can't be maintained without medication."

"You delayed her taking her medicine for one night, so all the suffering she endured last night was for nothing."

Zhang Changyao stomped his feet in anger, but dared not say too much about Guan Shuyun.

"Changyao, then I won't go inside. You go and give Wuni her medicine right away!"

Guan Shuyun knew she had gotten herself into trouble, so she stuck out her tongue and turned back home.

"Wu Ni, you have to be good and stay home and take your medicine these next few days."

After you finish taking all these medications, check if your stomach is better.

"As long as you see improvement, you must listen to me and go to the health center to see Dr. Qiu for proper treatment."

Zhang Changyao entered the room, cooled a bowl of hot water, and then laid out each medicine in a row.

"Zhang Changyao, the medicine you gave me is for giving me an upset stomach."

If I have diarrhea for a few more days, my stomach will get really big, and I'll die from it.

Yang Wuni verbally argued with Zhang Changyao, but obediently swallowed every single medicine.

The second time I took the medicine, the diarrhea was much milder than the first time.

As long as it wasn't too painful, Yang Wuni didn't resist and would voluntarily remember to take her medicine.

"Zhang Changyao, your medicine really works! I don't have any blood in my stool anymore."

Two days later, Yang Wuni came out of the outhouse and happily told Zhang Changyao.

"Wu Ni, come inside, let me see if your belly has shrunk a bit."

Zhang Changyao, who had just finished feeding the jujube horse, carried the feed bowl and pulled Yang Wuni into the house.

"Wu Ni, look down at yourself, do you have wrinkles on your stomach?"

"After a few more days of this, my son will be able to straighten his legs."

Zhang Changyao touched Yang Wuni's belly and lifted up her now loose stomach to show her.

"Zhang Changyao, this medicine really isn't a scam. It seems that the shaman was the real fraudster."

Once I'm cured, I'm going to stand in front of her house and curse her for three days and three nights.

If she had just made up nonsense to fool my father, I wouldn't have suffered all those years.

I just don't know where her ancestral graves are, otherwise I would definitely have knocked her down.

After rubbing her stomach, Yang Wuni pointed in the direction of her house and cursed Wang Fengxian, the shaman.

"Dad! You have to go and see! Our family can't go on like this anymore."

We're about to start planting, and our donkey's leg is broken.

This is like someone who's lame and needs a cane to climb higher; even God is bullying honest people.

Sui Yumi carried Guibao into the yard, sniffling and howling as she walked in.

"Changguang's wife, don't cry. How could the donkey's leg be broken?"

Zhang Kaiju heard Sui Yumi crying and pushed open the door to come out.

"Dad! Go and see! Your good-for-nothing son is struggling with a donkey."

I told him my donkey leg was broken and I'd try to fix it, but he said it couldn't be fixed and insisted on stabbing it to death to sell the donkey meat.

Spring has arrived, if we kill the donkey, what will we use to farm?
