Yu-Gi-Oh!: Worldwide Mix, the Ultimate Necromancer Duel

Chapter 21. The Ultimate Perfect Form Giant Moth!

As Kyoko Masaki gazed at the lone star on the screen, a hint of reluctance flickered across her brow.

"That duelist named You Chen... he's so pitiful." She said softly, her tone filled with undisguised sorrow. "It's too cruel for him to face an insect like a moth."

Among the people around, this view was almost unanimous.

Nobody was discussing who would win or lose.

Everyone was discussing how long You Chen could last—thirty seconds? A minute? Or would surviving the first round be considered a victory?

---

On the dueling field.

"Chirp! A one-star duelist?"

The insect moth stood with one hand on its hip and the other hand pointing its index finger at You Chen across the way.

His laughter was sharp and piercing, like something sharp scraping against glass, making you instinctively want to cover your ears.

"I've never seen anything like it before. Are there still such overconfident idiots these days?" Yu'e grinned, revealing two rows of neat but unsettling teeth. "A mere one-star nobody dares to dream of challenging someone of a higher level?"

He paused, his smile growing increasingly sinister.

"If you meet me, I'll show you what cruelty really is. Chirp chirp chirp—"

You Chen raised his eyelids and glanced at him.

"You talk too much nonsense, you're disturbing me."

He uttered those three words softly, took out his deck from his waist, and inserted it into the Duel Disk.

The moment the slot closed, a crisp "click" was heard.

He originally intended to use the Masked Hero deck, but now he has changed his mind.

It was so satisfying to make him lose by using Masked Hero!

He switched to a different deck so that he wouldn't be able to reward insects and moths.

The insect moth's smile froze for a moment.

Why is this kid reacting like this?

A strange sense of annoyance welled up inside me.

"you……!"

"The duel begins!"

The referee's voice interrupted him.

A coin is tossed high into the air, twirls several times, and then falls back down.

front.

"I'll take the first move," You Chen announced calmly.

He drew five cards from his hand, glanced at them, and without any hesitation, directly drew a card and slammed it onto the duel disk.

"My inside defense indicates that a monster has been placed on the cover."

The card fell, and a blurry silhouette, face down, appeared on the field, lying quietly in the center.

"Round over."

—That's it?

A low murmur arose from the crowd of onlookers.

"this one?"

"You just covered one monster and that was it? No backcourt at all?"

"As expected of a one-star duelist!"

The insect moth paused for a second, then burst into an even more piercing laugh.

"Chirp chirp chirp!! I thought someone who dared to challenge someone of a higher level would have at least some guts!" He laughed so hard he almost fell over, tears welling up in his eyes. "But you really are only a one-star level guy! How boring! Chirp chirp!"

In the monitoring room.

Seto Kaiba stood with his arms crossed in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the live feeds of the various venues below. As his gaze swept over the screen in Zone B, a cold smile crept onto his lips.

"Hmph, just a small fry after all. That's it."

He uttered those four words calmly, as if making an unquestionable conclusion.

Kaiba Keihei, standing beside him, nodded repeatedly, his little face full of sympathy: "Poor thing. He probably couldn't even last one round, could he?"

He tilted his head and added, "But then again, for a mere one-star newbie to dare to challenge someone of a higher level... that's quite courageous, isn't it?"

Seto Kaiba didn't respond; he just stared coldly at the screen.

In his eyes, there was no need to watch this duel any longer.

---

On the dueling field.

"My turn! Draw a card—!"

The insect moth's voice suddenly rose in pitch, as if it wanted to vent all its previous displeasure. It spread its short legs apart, leaned slightly forward, and struck what it considered a very imposing pose.

Then, he saw his hand.

The next second, his smile became even more arrogant.

"Hohoho—!"

He raised his chin, glancing at You Chen out of the corner of his eye, his tone extremely sarcastic: "Sorry, you noob. It seems my hand is about to plunge you into despair!"

He deliberately dragged out the last syllable, as if he were savoring some exquisite delicacy.

"How unfortunate... but this feeling..."

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes in blissful ecstasy.

"This is absolutely fantastic!"

You Chen raised an eyebrow slightly as he watched this scene.

"Really?" His tone was as flat as if he were chatting. "That's great!"

Insect/Moth: "…………"

His smile froze.

This guy's reaction was not only calm, but even carried a hint of... amusement?

An unnamed fire shot straight to the top of his head.

"You coward! You'll soon learn what cruelty truly means!"

Yuga almost gritted her teeth as she said those words, then suddenly pulled out a card and slammed it hard onto the Duel Disk.

"First! I Normal Summon an Insect-Type monster from my hand!"

"Come out, baby larva!"

A flash of light appeared on the duel disk, and a plump, green, spotted larva materialized on the field. It wriggled a few times and emitted a faint "whooshing" sound.

[Baby Larvae]

Earth Attribute/1-Star/Insect Race

Attack: 300 / Defense: 200

The onlookers looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Next—I activate an Equip Spell Card from my hand!"

He pulled out a card, held it high so everyone could see the image on it—a menacing mecha cannon barrel, aimed at something.

"【Laser Cannon Mech Armor】!"

"This card's effect is—only Insect-Type monsters can be equipped with it! The equipped monster gains 300 ATK and DEF!"

He slammed the card onto the duel disk.

A beam of light shot out from the card, accurately hitting the baby larva on the field. The plump larva's body was instantly encased in a semi-transparent mecha shell, and its previously limp body straightened up a bit.

[Baby Larva] Attack Power: 300 → 600

The doubts among the crowd deepened.

"What's going on?"

"What's the use of adding 300 attack to a one-star mob monster? Is it 600 or not?"

"No, it can't be that simple..."

Yu Moth squinted, stretched out his hands, picked up a card with his index and middle fingers together, and slowly raised it to eye level.

His smile grew increasingly mysterious.

"Hooray...it's here!"

His arm swung down suddenly, and the card was slammed hard onto the duel disk!

"I'm going to activate a Quick-Play Spell Card from my hand!"

"【The Cocoon of Super Evolution】!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a huge golden cocoon appeared out of thin air, completely enveloping the baby larvae on the field!

A golden cocoon floated in mid-air, its surface flowing with eerie patterns. It pulsated slowly, each pulsation like a heartbeat, emitting a dull "thump-thump" sound that echoed throughout the venue.

"The effect of this card is—" Yuga's voice rose sharply, filled with barely suppressed excitement, "Tribute one Insect-Type monster on your or your opponent's field that is equipped with an Equip Card, then Special Summon one Insect-Type monster from your Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions!"

He suddenly pointed to the pulsating golden cocoon.

"I want to liberate the [baby larvae]!"

"And then—Special Summon from my Deck! My Ace!"

His voice was almost bursting with excitement.

"【The Ultimate Perfect Form Giant Moth】!!!"
