Yu-Gi-Oh!: Worldwide Mix, the Ultimate Necromancer Duel

Chapter 8. You Chen really does his job when he gets paid!

Chen Feng was clearly taken aback, completely unprepared for the arrogant attitude of the guy opposite him.

They were both in the top 64 of the city competition, so who isn't an elite? What makes this kid so special?

"Brother, aren't you being a bit too arrogant?" Chen Feng's face darkened, and his tone turned cold. "We're all in the top 64, what are you acting all high and mighty for?"

You Chen chuckled upon hearing this, slowly shaking the duel disk in his hand with an expression that was as smug as could be: "Brother, you should have some self-awareness."

"There are gaps between the top 64 teams!"

He glanced at Chen Feng and added casually:

Don't compare yourself to me.

"You're not worthy."

He said it so matter-of-factly, and his unpretentious arrogance, emanating from his very bones, stunned even the guy next to him who was holding his phone.

Goodness... that acting, that performance!

This guy really does get things done when he gets paid!

His arrogance is so natural that it makes the show incredibly entertaining!

He was initially worried that the stranger he had found at the last minute wouldn't be able to let loose, but now he was relieved—this guy wasn't just not able to let loose, he was a natural-born drama queen!

The live chat exploded with comments:

"Holy crap! This guy gets into character so fast! My blood pressure is rising!"

"It doesn't seem like acting, hahaha."

"That facial expression control...it's incredible! I'm starting to get angry!"

"Haha, wait till Boss Chen Feng teaches him a lesson, then let's see how he can keep up the act."

"Is this the quality of the top 64? They might get beaten to tears later!"

Chen Feng's eyes narrowed, but instead of getting angry, he smiled, a cold smile curving his lips: "Heh, very good. Then I'll have to see just how much this 'different' group of the top 64 really is."

You Chen had already deftly set up the Duel Disk—it was a spare that Brother Ji had temporarily lent him.

When Brother Ji heard that he didn't even have a Duel Disk, his last bit of doubt vanished: No Duel Disk? What else could he be but a complete newbie? This storyline is set!

"Enough with the nonsense!" You Chen raised his hand. "Let the duel begin!"

A coin is tossed high into the air, flips in the sunlight, and falls.

Turn it up.

"I'll attack first!" Chen Feng's eyes turned serious.

Facing an opponent who was also among the top 64, his competitive spirit and focus as an elite duelist were instantly ignited.

"My turn!"

"First, I activate the Spell Card [Angel's Charity]!"

A phantom image of a magic card depicting an angel giving alms appears.

"Draw three cards from your deck," Chen Feng said deftly, drawing three new cards and glancing at his hand. "Then, discard two cards from your hand."

He swiftly placed the two cards in the cemetery.

"Next, normal summon—Demonic Rhino Warrior!"

He snapped a picture of a monster card.

Light surged across the arena as a massive demon warrior, with a burly build, rock-black skin, and thick rhinoceros horns on his head, made a thunderous entrance, his breathing heavy and his eyes fierce.

【Demon Rhinoceros Warrior】

Earth Attribute / Three Stars / Demon Race

Attack: 1400 / Defense: 900

"It's not over yet!" Chen Feng quickly drew another card from his hand, revealed it, and Special Summoned it. "Ban the [Hell Highway Patrol] that was just sent to the Graveyard, and activate its effect! Special Summon a Fiend-Type monster with 2000 or less ATK from your hand."

"Heed the summons, reveal yourself—[The Legendary Demon]!"

A faint light flashed in the cemetery, and an even denser aura of darkness spread out.

A towering demon with broad, tattered bat wings on its back, curved horns on its head, and covered in ancient armor, slowly descended from the darkness. It wielded a greatsword burning with eerie green flames, and its eyes flickered with cold, soul-fire.

The Legendary Demon

Dark attribute / Six-star / Demon race

Attack: 1500 / Defense: 1800

"Activate the Spell Card again—[Nightmare Iron Bars]!"

Chen Feng inserted his last card into the magic trap zone.

In an instant, countless rusty, black iron railing phantoms, entangled with thorns and chains, rose from the edge of the arena, crisscrossing and temporarily separating the two sides, emitting a strange force field that suppressed attacks.

"This card remains on the field after activation. It will only be destroyed during the End Phase after both of your opponent's turns," Chen Feng explained, his tone brimming with confidence and control. "As long as it exists, neither player's monsters can attack."

"I've hidden two cards," he said, placing his remaining two cards in the back row. "End of turn!"

"Hmph! Your turn!"

On the field, the Rhino Demon and the Legendary Demon stood silently, one in front of the other.

The back row is made up of towering iron bars and two unknown face-down cards. Chen Feng's tactical intention is clear—to use the [Nightmare Iron Bars] to buy time and protect the [Legendary Demon].

You Chen saw it clearly. This guy was trying to stall for time, taking advantage of the classic effect of the [Legendary Demon]: increasing attack power by 700 points during each of his own preparation phases.

In this era where attack power reigns supreme in axe-wielding duels, this is indeed a steady snowballing strategy, gradually accumulating advantages and finally delivering a decisive blow with a high-attack monster.

The approach is conventional and practical.

Unfortunately.

Chen Feng encountered him.

"Well then, it's my turn."

You Chen's voice was calm and even, yet it carried a completely different rhythm. He raised his hand, his fingertips tracing the top of the deck.

"Draw a card!"

With the new card in hand, he didn't even look down at it. His gaze remained fixed on his own hand, as if he already knew all the possibilities within it.

"First, let me reveal my hand—[Masked Hero Hearthfire]!"

He displayed a hero card with crimson patterns and flames flowing through it to Chen Feng.

"You can activate this effect by showing this card from your hand to your opponent. Add one Masked Change or Fusion card from your Deck to your hand. Then, discard one card from your hand."

As soon as he finished speaking, the deck responded automatically, and a Quick-Play Spell Card with strange energy ripples flowing around its edges popped out, which he caught steadily.

"I search for Masked Change. Then," he casually sent the previously revealed [Masked Hero Hearthfire] to the Graveyard. "Discard this card."

Chen Feng frowned involuntarily as he watched this scene.

"Masked Hero?" he muttered to himself, his tone clearly puzzled. "What kind of deck is this? Why have I never heard of it before?"

Upon hearing this, You Chen's mocking smile became even more pronounced.

"There are a lot of cards you don't know about," he said slowly, each word seemingly pushing the boundaries of Chen Feng's understanding. "Today, I'll show you something new."

"A frog in a well!"

You Chen did indeed do his job after taking the money.

His performance at this moment was at its peak; every word and every glance perfectly conveyed arrogance.
