"Welcome, newcomer."

As Suren watched his female secretary leave and looked around the building, a deep voice sounded behind him.

He was a large, white man who walked with a ghostly, silent gait.

Even wearing a loose white lab coat, Suren could still see

"Come with me."

He didn't waste any words; he simply waved to signal them to follow.

Suren only had time to nod before she stopped falling and quickly caught up with the other person.

"BARC, short for Specialized Bio-Asset Recovery and Containment, is the most important and core cornerstone of Lex Group's biological division."

"Our main responsibility is to collect the corpses of special creatures for research, and to contain and appease creatures with out-of-control special abilities, thereby eliminating their threat."

"At the same time, we also research and apply these special abilities. You can also conduct your own research based on the existing data."

As the big guy spoke, the two of them had already entered the elevator.

He looked Suren up and down, and nodded subtly.

"You're lucky, there just happens to be one vacancy."

"You can refer to the specific confidentiality manual later. Simply put, it means to remain silent outside of the department."

The big guy didn't press any elevator buttons; he simply placed his employee card behind the sensor, and the elevator began to slowly descend.

"I won't ask about your background, and similarly, don't expect me to answer if you ask something you shouldn't."

"People here use letters as codes. This is your employee ID. You can set one yourself later."

"You can call me Big B, just like everyone else. If you have any questions later, feel free to ask me."

Big B was incredibly efficient; he had already finished speaking a long string of words before the elevator doors even opened.

The elevator doors slowly opened, revealing a view of ubiquitous white lights.

"It's really...bright here."

Suren instinctively raised her hand to block out the light; the brightness here was no less than the direct sunlight in the corridor before.

Big B looked around, and Suren followed his gaze and spotted a figure in the corner.

Hey, there's fresh meat!

The lumpy figure then slowly began to move.

He was an Asian man, slightly overweight, with a round face and greasy hair plastered to his forehead.

Although it was the same white lab coat, he looked bulky and greasy in it.

"Here, you'll start by working under Old A and getting an internship. Once you understand the process, you can begin conducting research independently."

After Big B finished speaking, he patted Suren on the shoulder with a little force.

"Welcome to the trauma group."

Old A also greeted Suren at the right time.

"I've brought the person to you. Now, explain the rules clearly."

After giving a final word of advice, he strode off into the depths of the white space, quickly disappearing behind several rows of storage shelves filled with Gundam fragments.

"Relax. Although this place can't compare to the high-level offices of elites, the pay is high and the work is easy. As long as you're smart enough, you can get by."

Old A seemed quite relaxed, as if he were at home.

He opened the drawer with practiced ease, revealing a stack of employee badges inside.

These name tags look almost identical and can only be distinguished by the sticky notes with capital letters on them.

"Pick a code name, newbie."

Old A had a big smile on his face; he was much easier to talk to than Big B, who had brought him here.

Among the dozen or so letter cards, Suren immediately took a liking to the S.

Not only because it shares the same initial as my name, but also because upon closer inspection, it is the newest card in the pile.

"I'll take this one."

"That..." Old A hesitated for a moment, but still didn't say anything. He just glanced at Su Lun's face again with a complicated look.

"You signed the contract, right?"

Seeing that Su Lun didn't intend to put down her employee badge, Old A closed the drawer and then took the badge from Su Lun's hand.

"Yes."

Suren nodded obediently.

"Okay then, have a seat. We'll all be colleagues from now on, so make yourself at home."

Old A plopped heavily onto the sofa, and Suren could almost hear the sofa springs groaning under the strain.

"Here, give me your employee ID."

Suren looked around, pulled up a chair, sat down, and handed over her employee ID.

Old A tore up the note, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it far away into the trash can.

He then swiped the work card at the card reader on the coffee table and tossed it back into Suren's arms.

"Okay, this is your employee ID card. You can swipe it in the elevator to come here directly, and it will also grant access to most of the office areas."

"But do not reveal your code name and personal information to anyone, including me."

"So what did I do at the beginning?"

The onboarding process was much faster than Suren had imagined, and he quickly adjusted his mindset.

After all, in the previous world, he was just a poor, struggling working person.

Although he has now come to the DC Universe, he is still essentially a mortal, and he can only do what he can do well first.

"See that pile of bottles?"

A hint of joy was clearly evident on Old A's face; his smile became even more friendly, and his voice even carried a cheerful tone.

Suren followed his chubby finger and saw at least four or five large baskets stacked in the corner, each filled with glassware.

On the inner walls of these glasswares, there are often dried, dark stains.

"Hmm." Suren nodded, somewhat puzzled. "What are these?"

"Hehe, here's your newbie gift pack!" Old A rubbed his hands together, his smile becoming increasingly unrestrained.

"It's very simple. First, put on a white coat, and then wash all those bottles inside and out, top to bottom, until they're sparkling clean, leaving no residue or odor."

"Remember, every single one! They must all meet the standard of being drinkable directly from the container, then just put them in the sterilizer. It's that simple, right?"

"Your beginner's partners are the powerful cleaner by the sink and the ultrasonic cleaner over there."

Suren looked at the several large baskets of dirty bottles that exuded an ominous aura, and then at Old A's "you got a great deal" expression, and was momentarily speechless.

Is this the beginning of "high pay and low workload"? The workload doesn't seem to be "low" at all.

Old A seemed to really enjoy Su Lun's expression, and he quickly handed over a brand new white coat.

"Don't just stand there, newbie S, get moving, quick, quick, quick!"

He glanced at the dazzling watch on his wrist and immediately sprang up from the sofa.

"My brain's not working properly, I still have to cook later, so I'll leave everything to you for today. I'm rooting for you!"

He patted Suren on the shoulder, then hurriedly took off his white coat, ready to leave work.

Suren stared at the other person's back, utterly dumbfounded.

This is the most important cornerstone of Lex's biological division? It feels about the same as washing dishes in a Chinatown restaurant!

"Oh, right, you can wander around after you're done washing up, but I don't recommend you touch anything indiscriminately, since those things are all assets of the Lex Group."

Old A seemed to remember something, turned back and gave another instruction, then hurriedly left.

Only Suren and several large baskets of glassware exuding an ominous aura were left staring at each other in bewilderment.
