Chapter 19 Revisiting an Old haunt

Russell was somewhat speechless at this sight.

What's going on?

Soon, as the urgent sound rang out again, Russell finally reacted and looked to the southeast.

This sound was not a notification to the wizards, a reminder that Hai Si was landing!

It just so happens that this sound always occurs whenever Hai Si lands.

And it seems that only he can hear this sound?

Or perhaps, only he and Haisi could hear it.

The purpose of this group of sea creatures was not to attack the land, but to reach the source of the sound!

Russell silently memorized the direction from which the sound came, then turned to look at the sea.

Sure enough, not long after, sea creatures emerged from the ocean again, causing quite a commotion on the coastline.

"No way, not again?"

The wizard Luther pressed his head and sighed.

Casting the powerful level zero spell, Flame Vortex, had already consumed most of his mental and magical energy.

It's no longer possible to do it again.

"Splash!"

A sound of seawater separating rang out.

Luther's face showed a shocked expression; he wouldn't have reacted like this even when facing ten level-three Sea Spirits.

If you can't win, can't you at least run away?

But reality is cruel; facing Hai Si, escape is just wishful thinking.

The seawater parted, and the head of a sea creature emerged from the ocean.

Its head alone is already comparable in size to the previously landed Level 3 Sea Creatures!

"A wizard-level sea creature!"

"How could there possibly be a formal wizard-level being among the Sea Clan! This is impossible!"

"Lord Shilling the Wizard! Please save us, Lord Shilling the Wizard!"

Faced with Hai Si, a formal wizard, all the wizard apprentices present had lost the will to fight.

The gap is too big.

Even Russell looked thoughtful, wondering whether he should just run away and go to the source of the sound first.

He's only just been promoted to a second-level wizard apprentice, so there's nothing shameful about him running away from a full-fledged wizard.

"As expected, Instructor Shilling had anticipated this." After his initial shock, Luther quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, everything went as expected.

If Shilling were to face a first-tier wizard-level Sea Sprite head-on, it would be hard to say who would win or lose.

But this is Panlong Mountain.

The wizard Shilin, who has been entrenched here for nearly five hundred years and possesses a magic array, has no fear of any other strong person of the same level.

No one of equal strength dared to trespass into a wizard's lair.

"Buzz~"

A strange fluctuation arose, causing the elements of heaven and earth to become disordered, causing all the wizard apprentices present to turn around in surprise.

That's the direction of Panlong Mountain.

A giant witch array, covered with mysterious patterns and composed entirely of lightning elements, appeared, encircling the perimeter of Panlong Mountain.

As the giant magic array began to operate, Russell felt for a moment that he could no longer sense the existence of the elements of heaven and earth!

No, it should be said that first, apart from the lightning element, no other element could be sensed, and then even the lightning element could not be sensed!

Element transformation, element plunder.

Centered on Panlong Mountain, the elements of heaven and earth within a radius of 10,000 meters were directly transformed and completely plundered!

As massive amounts of Originium continue to burn, they stimulate the lightning element and activate the giant witch array.

The entire periphery of Panlong Mountain was filled with towering purple lightning!

"Sizzle!"

Purple lightning bolts swept through the sky, and Russell felt as if the entire sky was filled with blinding purple lightning, so he couldn't help but close his eyes.

With a loud bang and a shockwave that nearly sent him flying, Russell slowly opened his eyes.

There seemed to be some traces of purple lightning still remaining in front of me.

Turning to look at the location where the first-tier sea creature had appeared, they discovered that along with the previous purple lightning, a huge crater had now appeared on the sea!

Fine purple lightning still flickered intermittently in the ocean, hindering the sea's progress in filling the deep pit.

This allowed Russell to witness this breathtaking scene.

A wizard, if he is in his own lair, has the power to instantly kill ordinary experts of the same level.

This statement has been confirmed once again.

It's no wonder that every wizard tries to build their own wizard tower, secret realm, or even sub-plane.

As strength increases, the base of operations naturally needs to be upgraded in order to continue to easily defeat strong individuals of the same level.

However, Russell only mentioned the latter two in a few books.

Wizards of that level were, without a doubt, just legends to him.

In reality, in this remote seaside kingdom, there is only one first-tier wizard, the wizard Shillien.

It was only because of Hai Si's existence that he was specially dispatched from the Wizard Association on the mainland to be stationed here.

Being sent to such a place must mean that the wizard is on the very edge of the world, ostracized by other wizards and unable to make a living.

"Fellow apprentice wizards."

Just as Russell was lost in thought, a voice rang out all around.

He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a figure in the air, entirely purple and composed of lightning elements.

The figure was incredibly lifelike; it was a young man dressed in a shaman's robe, with somewhat ordinary features, yet possessing a reassuring aura.

"Professor Schilling."

Upon seeing the figure in mid-air, Luther quickly bowed.

Of all the wizarding apprentices present, he was the only one who had ever seen Wizard Shilling.

That was the time he became an apprentice.

From that time on, he never had the honor of seeing the wizard Shillien again.

"Greetings, Lord Wizard Shilling!"

All the wizard apprentices present immediately bowed.

Putting aside the awe for formal wizards and the name Shilling, the other party had just killed a first-tier sea creature!

The deep crater the enemy had blasted in the sea was still behind them, slowly healing itself.

"You may return to Panlong Mountain first. The enemies that will appear here next are beyond your ability to cope with."

Wizard Shilling said calmly, gazing at the distant sea, and said nothing more.

"I will obey Lord Schilling/My Mentor's wishes!"

All the wizard apprentices bowed again, and the knights knelt respectfully on the ground before all of them withdrew.

"Splash!"

The seawater parted, and a first-tier sea creature reappeared.

The elemental clone of the wizard Shilin rushed forward, drawing upon the magic array of Panlong Mountain. Purple lightning roared across the sky, sweeping towards the opponent.

Russell stood in the distance, witnessing this scene. After a moment of marveling at the power of the formal wizard, he continued to follow the sound.

Behind him, thunder and lightning flashed continuously, while the path beneath Russell's feet became increasingly familiar.

Until she arrived at the beach where she committed suicide after awakening her past life memories.

With the magic array set up by the wizard Shilin in place, Hai Si can only land on that coastline; there is no Hai Si here.

Otherwise, Russell would not have been able to come here.

Looking around, Russell suddenly felt a headache coming on, and a series of memories flooded back.

His suicide was not because he felt hopeless about becoming a wizard's apprentice over the next ten years and thus threw himself into the sea.

Rather, they were bewitched by the sound.

Only then did he gradually walk towards the ocean, until he suddenly awakened his past life memories, broke through the bewitching spell, and desperately returned to the shore.

"This is Hai Si's curse!"

Russell muttered to himself as he continued walking toward the source of the sound.
