Chapter 64 Senior Inspector

"What if I lose it?"

Saint Anthony paused slightly as he was about to put pen to paper.

He hadn't expected Aleister to ask such a question, and was somewhat surprised that he was already thinking about losing something before even getting it: "Child, losing a Level 1 sealed artifact is no small matter."

An Ruowang did not avoid Saint Anthony's gaze: "Things are unpredictable, and unexpected things are bound to happen in life."

Saint Anthony paused his writing, thought for a moment, and replied, "If something unexpected happens, your return alive is more important than anything else. If there are extenuating circumstances, I think even the Holy See won't say anything, and will even stand up for you, child."

As for non-accidental loss?

Saint Anthony did not believe that the goddess's chosen ones would act in this way, and therefore never even considered it.

He picked up his pen again and continued writing the application documents for Ales, in which he was the guarantor.

The pen tip moved across the paper, making a soft scratching sound.

After writing a few lines, Saint Anthony suddenly remembered something, stopped writing, and picked up the file he had just finished writing from beside him.

"Oh, right." He looked up and handed the documents to An Ruowang. "Next, you can have Elektra show you through the onboarding process, collect some basic supplies and wages, and familiarize yourself with the environment here."

An Ruowang took the document: "Okay, then I'll take my leave."

After saying that, An Ruowang got up and left St. Anthony's office.

In the corridor, Bishop Elektra leaned against the wall, flipping through a holy book.

Hearing the door open, he looked up, a warm smile immediately spreading across his thin face: "Mr. Aleister, are you done talking?"

An Ruowang nodded and relayed Saint Anthony's words.

After listening, Bishop Elektra closed the holy book and gestured for him to continue: "No problem. I don't have anything urgent to do today, so I'll show you around."

The two walked side by side into the depths of the corridor.

Bishop Elektra then led Anjou on a tour of St. Samuel's Cathedral, familiarizing himself with the layout, including the prayer hall, side aisles, bell tower, confessional, library, and so on.

Then, he showed An Ruowang some secret passages known only to insiders, including the first and second floors of the underground Chanis Gate.

As for the third layer?

That is the place where "0-17" is sealed, a place even Bishop Elektra has no right to know.

After returning to the ground, Bishop Elektra took Anruowang to several departments, including the accounting office, the archives, the night watchmen's rest area, and even the church's refectory.

While helping Anjouwang go through the onboarding process, Bishop Elektra also introduced him to some of his colleagues, bishops, deacons, red gloves, and night watchmen within the church, so that he could become acquainted with them.

An Ruowang nodded, shook hands, and smiled all the way, memorizing their faces and identities.

To be fair, once his memory improved, his face blindness when meeting new people became much better.

Most of the night watchmen, deacons, and bishops were quite polite to him. A few were a bit cold, but that was mainly due to their personalities and not because they were targeting him. They were also somewhat curious about him.

After all, he is the favored one of the goddess, and given his status, it's highly unlikely that An Ruowang will encounter the slap-in-the-face scene he's hoping for.

After completing the onboarding process, An Ruowang had a private office in St. Samuel's Church.

Although the church furniture was simple and unpretentious, the style and decoration were generally grand, and it was very clean. There was even a small potted plant on the table.

In company terms, this place will be his workstation at the Church of the Night.

In front of the mirror, An Ruowang changed into the police uniform of the Kingdom of Rune and tried it on to see if it fit.

The young man in the mirror has regular features and is full of heroic spirit.

He turned slightly to the side, examining the neatly tailored black uniform.

The uniform was black with just the right amount of white checks to avoid looking monotonous. A leather belt was fastened around his waist, and he wore leather boots. The black leather had a soft sheen, which made his already tall and straight figure look even more sharp.

An Ruowang then straightened his collar, making it crisp and conforming to the lines of his neck, and then adjusted the soft hat inlaid with the silver emblem of "two crossed swords surrounding a crown".

He gently adjusted the angle, letting the brim of his hat drop slightly, so that it fell just right, casting a small shadow on his forehead and slightly covering his bright eyes.

The epaulettes on his shoulders were black and white with three silver six-pointed stars embedded on them, which gleamed coldly against the black uniform, indicating that his police rank was Senior Inspector.

To facilitate the execution of missions by official extraordinary individuals and the investigation of extraordinary events, all of them, whether they are Night Watchers, Punishers, or Mechanical Hearts, will be assigned to positions within the police system.

The official members of the church's Extraordinary Squad are at the inspector level in the police system, and their weekly salaries are split equally between the church and the police department.

In the Night Watch team, the members of Sequence 9 are trainee inspectors, the members of Sequence 8 are inspectors, and the captain of Sequence 7 is a senior inspector.

As a Sequence 7 "astrologer", An Ruowang naturally became a senior inspector.

The salary increase for night shift workers is based on three factors: length of service, contributions made, and their job rank. The third factor is often closely related to their contributions.

教会的文职人员一般是3榜,正式的序列9非凡者的周薪是6镑,资深序列9非凡者的周薪是10镑左右。

He now has a formal job, with a weekly salary of £30 since he just started, and he doesn't have to pay income tax, plus various benefits and subsidies.

After trying on the uniform and confirming that it fit, An Ruowang opened his senior inspector's badge and checked it to make sure there were no problems. Then he changed into the robes of the Church of the Night.

An Ruowang stood in front of the mirror, looking at herself in the mirror.

The young man in the mirror had deep-set eyes and a calm expression. His teacher's robe made him look more solemn and compassionate, and less aggressive than when he was in his inspector's uniform.

The robes of the Church of the Night are loosely cut, yet not bulky. They are black with dark red trim on the lapels and cuffs. The combination of black and red gives them a priestly feel.

Police and military uniforms often symbolize the violence and public power of the state, and are therefore often associated with an additional sense of authority.

But to be honest, An Ruowang thought the priest's robe was even better looking than Lu En's police uniform, probably because of the color scheme.

He tidied up his police uniform and identification, put them away, put on his priest's robe, and walked out of the office.

Bishop Elektra's gaze lingered on Aleister for a moment: "I think the robe suits you better than any other garment, and now you are officially one of us."

An Ruowang smiled, neither confirming nor denying: "Thank you."
