Young Master He's mermaid baby is super sweet

Chapter 137 Two cups of milk tea and one small cake

When He Shizhou and Luo You woke up, He Qi had already left.

The two went downstairs. Su Yin and the child were not there. Luo You looked around and then leaned back against He Shizhou out of boredom.

The company has been on holiday recently, so there's not much to do. He Shizhou just uses his computer to check what's been going on since he was away from the company, while Luo You leans against him and uses her phone to search on Baidu what Chinese New Year is.

But after looking at a lot of things for a long time, he still didn't understand what they were. After a while, he put down his phone and started snuggling into He Shizhou's arms again.

He Shizhou smiled helplessly, turned slightly to pull the man into his arms, and let him sit on his lap. He held him while continuing to look at the documents on the computer.

After a while, the little one in his arms became really restless, so He Shizhou finally closed the computer and turned his gaze to the face of the person in his arms.

"Baby, what are you doing?"

Luo You pouted and thought for a moment, then whispered, "Youyou is bored and has nothing to do."

"So what do you want to do?"

Luo You shook his head again. After a while, he thought about it carefully and then suddenly remembered something. He sat up straight and looked at He Shizhou.

"Fish, go see Youyou's fish."

He Shizhou had kept a lot of goldfish in the pond in the yard to make him happy. Luo You used to remember to go and feed them every day, but he had forgotten about the fish when he came back after being away from home these days.

He Shizhou had nothing else to do at the moment, so he nodded in agreement and took him upstairs to change into thicker clothes before taking him outside.

The ice on the surface of the fishpond has melted, but the water is still a bit cold. The fish are gently swaying their tails in the clear water.

Luo You gently sprinkled the fish food into the water, and soon fish swam over and ate it. However, after eating for a short while, they all sank to the bottom and remained still.

Luo You was stunned for a moment after seeing this, then breathed a sigh of relief and turned to He Shizhou.

"I'm full, Auntie should have fed me."

"Okay, I won't forget about these fish." He Shizhou reached out and patted his head, then pulled the little guy's slightly cool hand into his arms and put it inside his clothes to warm it up.

The two lingered by the fishpond for a while longer. He Shizhou felt it was still a bit cold outside, so he pulled him back inside.

Su Yin was already awake. She came out of the bedroom and paused for a moment before realizing that the two people had returned. She looked at their clothes and frowned in confusion.

"Didn't you go back to your room to sleep? Where have you gone again?"

"Youyou was worried about his fish, so we just went out to check on them," He Shizhou explained.

Su Yin nodded in agreement: "What's there to worry about? I feed them every day, and they're all plump."

Luo You nodded happily and said with a smile, "Thank you, Auntie."

Su Yin walked over, pulled Luo You over, and while talking to him, led him to sit on the sofa.

After a while, He Shizhou also walked over and sat down not far away, casually asking.

"Where's my dad? Did he leave?"

Su Yin nodded, her voice tinged with disdain: "I don't know what's wrong with him lately, he keeps coming here. It annoys me, so I sent him back a long time ago."

In the early years, Su Yin was in love with He Qi, but she did not pursue him after learning that he had a girlfriend. However, when the He family came to her and said that He Qi and his girlfriend had broken up completely, she still couldn't help but agree to marry He Qi. Although their life after marriage was ordinary, they treated each other with respect. However, she did not expect that He Qi would suddenly have a child who was older than He Shizhou.

This matter had been on Su Yin's mind for many years, so she and He Qi argued almost every day over the years. But now, she lives with her son and has to take care of her father and grandson. Suddenly, she feels busy. Whether He Qi is in her life or not seems irrelevant. So Su Yin has really let go and taken it easy. She just didn't expect that He Qi would come here on his own at this time.

Su Yin naturally couldn't give him a friendly look; at most, she'd let him have a meal before sending him away.

He Shizhou shook his head slightly. He didn't know how to describe these two people. It was as if their lifestyles of the past ten years had changed, and neither of them was the same as before.

After a moment of silence, He Shizhou tentatively spoke again.

"Mom, the Lunar New Year is just around the corner. Should we spend it here or at the old house?"

Without even thinking, Su Yin replied, "Of course I'll stay here. What's the point of going back?"

Since Grandpa Su disliked He Qi and the old house, Su Yin naturally had to stay here with him. Besides, she had no intention of moving back to the old house.

He Shizhou had already anticipated her answer, so he immediately followed up with another question.

"Well... let's invite my dad and brother to come and stay here with us too. It'll be more lively with more people, especially since we just had a new baby. We'll probably have a lot of relatives coming over later, so we should all be able to see the child."

Su Yin's expression changed. She didn't like the He family's relatives, but she had to save face, so she nodded.

The three of them stayed downstairs for a while longer. Grandpa Su, who had just woken up, also got up, and the family drove to the mall to buy clothes.

He Shizhou drove, Luo You sat in the passenger seat, and Su Yin and Grandpa Su sat in the back seat. It was a rare occasion for the family to go out together.

The four of them chatted as they walked, creating a surprisingly pleasant atmosphere.

After arriving at the mall, Grandpa Su walked slowly, with He Shizhou accompanying him. Luo You helped Su Yin try on clothes, and they browsed from store to store.

Before long, he was already starting to feel the strain. When the two of them were alone together, Luo You threw herself into He Shizhou's arms, hugged his waist tightly, and gently rubbed her cheek against his chest. In a soft voice, she said, "Tired."

He Shizhou smiled and patted Luo You's head, a hint of helplessness in his expression. He Shizhou had experienced shopping with Su Yin before, so he stayed with Grandpa Su and walked slowly behind her, not moving forward. It was a pity for Luo You.

"Baby, hang in there a little longer, just two more floors to go. After we're done, I'll give you a good foot massage and let you soak your feet for a while."

Luo You gently shook his head in He Shizhou's arms and whispered.

"No, Youyou is tired. Can He Shizhou hold her?"

"No, we haven't finished shopping for clothes yet. We'll head back after we're done."

He Shizhou still refused. Luo You leaned against him, somewhat dissatisfied, pouting and remaining silent. After thinking for a moment, He Shizhou continued.

"I'll buy two milk teas, you can have one while you're shopping, and bring the other home. I'll also buy you a small cake on the way. Is that okay?"

Upon hearing about two cups of milk tea and a small cake, Luo You lifted her head from He Shizhou's embrace, her eyes brightening as she instantly perked up.

He held up two fingers and waved them in front of He Shizhou's eyes to confirm.

"Two cups of milk tea, a small cake, and Youyou wants the strawberry flavor."

"Okay," He Shizhou agreed without hesitation, "I'll go buy it with you now."

With the milk tea in hand, Luo You readily agreed to browse two more floors, no problem at all.

He Shizhou could only take him to buy two cups of milk tea first, and then walked back with the little guy drinking milk tea in one hand and the other hand.

Luo You obediently followed Su Yin, accompanying her as she shopped from store to store, trying on clothes one by one.

Grandpa Su, who had just been dragged around to several stores and tried on a lot of clothes, was also a little unsteady on his feet. He leaned on his cane and followed He Shizhou to sit on the sofa to the side, breathing slightly heavily.

"Shizhou, has your mother always been like this?" Old Master Su was old and couldn't walk much, so he wasn't dragged around for long. He couldn't help but feel a pang of pity as he looked at Luo You, who was being pulled along ahead of him.

Poor kid, he's tried on dozens of clothes, his hair is all messed up, and he's still happily drinking milk tea.

"Grandpa, it's rare for someone to accompany my mom out for a stroll, so let her buy some clothes for Youyou so he can have a change."

He Shizhou didn't have much time to accompany Luo You shopping, and clothes delivered by someone according to size were never as suitable as those he picked out himself.

Grandpa Su only watched for a while, sighed, and could only nod slightly.

They strolled around from the afternoon until it got quite dark before heading back.

Hou Shizhou originally planned to eat out, but Grandpa Su didn't like eating out, so they decided to cook at home instead.

Luo You's legs were a little numb from walking, but he still had a smile on his face as he held the strawberry cake and milk tea that He Shizhou had bought for him.

In He Linyan's apartment, he poured himself a glass of red wine, leaned against the balcony, and quietly took a sip while gazing at the neon-lit night below. He then picked up his phone and glanced at the WeChat chat interface. Having received no reply, he put the phone down and turned his gaze back downstairs.

His life used to consist mostly of work, but now that he's suddenly on holiday at the end of the year, he's a bit bored and has nothing to do.

He just sent a message to Huo Chengfeng, asking if he had time to have a meal together during the Chinese New Year, but he hasn't received a reply from Huo Chengfeng yet.

He stood on the balcony for an unknown amount of time, until the cold wind had penetrated his clothes and his feet were numb with cold, before his phone finally made a clear ring.

He Linyan immediately took his phone, unlocked it, and looked at the message Huo Chengfeng had just sent him. It was just a few simple words, but he read it over and over again.

[Business trips abroad may mean I don't have time.]

It took He Linyan a long time to come back to his senses. He gently curled the corners of his lips into a slightly lonely smile before turning and returning to his room.

He placed his wine glass on the bar and tapped the screen a few times with his numb fingers, replying with only one message: "OK".

Huo Chengfeng was probably busy and didn't reply, so their brief conversation was interrupted again.

He Linyan walked to the sofa, sat down, leaned back, closed his eyes, and let out a heavy breath.

It's probably time to let go of the past...
