Courtyard Houses: Longevity Since the War of Resistance
Chapter 65 Concluding Chapter in Hong Kong
Lung Kowloon Walled City Warehouse District.
Two henchmen were standing guard outside the tin warehouse, and Li Feng walked straight over.
"Hey! What are you doing!" the henchman shouted, throwing down his cigarette.
Without stopping, Li Feng suddenly threw out both fists before the two could react.
boom!boom!
Two punches landed squarely on their abdomens, and the two men fell to the ground. "Selling this stuff, who else but you will die?" He pushed open the metal door, revealing a warehouse filled with wooden crates, dimly lit.
Seven or eight men were counting the goods. White pills and syringes were scattered on the table. When they saw Li Feng, they were all stunned.
"Damn it, who are you?!" A burly man with a face full of scars pulled out a machete.
The others also grabbed weapons: machetes, iron bars, and two Black Star pistols.
He glanced around, a slight smile playing on his lips; there were plenty of people.
The first man with a knife charged forward, aiming for Li Feng's head. Li Feng blocked the man's wrist with his left hand and punched him in the chest with his right.
Thump! The man flew three meters backward, crashing into a wooden crate, and fell silent.
Bang! Bang! Both Black Star pistols fired simultaneously, bullets whistling through the air.
Li Feng moved the instant the gun fired, shifting his body half a step to the left, the two bullets whizzing past him, while simultaneously kicking up an iron pipe on the ground.
The iron pipe spun and pierced the head of one of the gunmen. Just as another gunman was about to fire, Li Feng moved close to him, his left hand gripping the gun and pushing it upwards.
Bang! The bullet missed, and a right fist slammed into his temple, sending the gunman crashing to the ground. The remaining five men, their eyes bloodshot, brandished machetes and iron bars and swarmed forward!
Li Feng greeted him with a smile, like a tiger among sheep. Elbow strikes, knee strikes, palm strikes, and punches rained down!
With each strike, someone fell, the sounds of cracking bones and screams echoing throughout. The movements were concise to the extreme, all deadly techniques. Ten seconds later, only Li Feng remained standing in the warehouse.
His breathing was steady, and he didn't break a sweat.
Reaching the depths of the warehouse, he discovered a hidden compartment in the floor. He stomped his foot, and the compartment opened. Inside were ledgers, letters, and gray contracts—all evidence. He carefully collected them and turned to leave.
Li Feng walked out of the warehouse and lit his third cigarette at the alley entrance.
Villas in the hillside area.
Li Feng teleported instantly to the study on the second floor. The study was large and covered with a thick carpet.
A white man in his fifties, with thinning blond hair, wearing a silk robe and gold-rimmed glasses, was sitting at a desk, looking at a document. Hearing the noise, he looked up abruptly and saw Li Feng appear out of nowhere; his pupils contracted sharply.
But unlike the others who panicked and drew their guns, he simply put down the documents and placed his hands on the table.
"It seems my incompetent subordinates couldn't stop you," he said calmly in his Oxford-accented English.
Li Feng didn't answer. He walked to the desk and glanced at the documents on it. It was an assessment report on the development of a plot of land in Hong Kong, but it contained several pages of annotations written in different inks, which involved the flow of funds and the names of some officials.
"Bribery records?" Li Feng asked in English.
Richard Crawford, a white man and senior political advisor from Country Y stationed in Hong Kong, smiled slightly: "It's part of the business cooperation. Hong Kong is a place that values interests."
"And this?" Li Feng reached into the desk drawer and, before Richard could even see how he opened the lock, pulled out a folder marked "Top Secret." Inside were several handwritten copies of instructions, demanding the "creation of controlled chaos," signed by a code name of a department in London.
Richard's expression finally changed.
"How could you...?"
Li Feng took a step forward, but the oppressive feeling from that step made Richard instinctively lean back, reaching for the gun under the table.
too slow.
Li Feng's hand landed on the table, and the heavy marble desk cracked open in the middle. The desk lamp and pen tumbled to the ground, and Richard's hand froze in mid-air.
"Anything else?"
Richard's throat bobbed, and he finally pointed dejectedly to the bookshelf by the wall: "Second row, behind that 'History of the British Empire'."
Li Feng walked over, pulled out the thick book, and behind it was a safe. He pressed his finger on the keyhole, disrupting the internal structure, and the safe door popped open.
There were no gold bars inside, only a few file folders, which Li Feng took out and looked through.
The first file records the transfer of benefits to more than 40 members and officials in various departments of the Legislative Council and Executive Council of Hong Kong over the past five years through offshore channels and local shell companies.
The amounts, dates, bank statements, and even key points from conversations in private settings were all clearly listed. The list of recipients included several individuals who presented themselves as neutral in public.
The second file was thicker, detailing Hong Kong's administrative structure. It listed names for almost every key department, including the Chief Secretary's Office, Financial Secretary's Office, Secretary for Justice's Office, Home Affairs Department, Education Department, and Medical and Health Department, covering mid-level and even some senior management positions. Next to these names were notes in fine handwriting indicating when and how they were assigned to the positions, which department in London they maintained direct contact with, and their recent key tasks.
The third document contains cooperation agreements with several of the most powerful local triad bosses. These agreements include defining business territories, providing protection, and manipulating public opinion to create controlled chaos when necessary.
The last document is an action summary, which lists more than ten small-scale action plans aimed at weakening the authority of the joint management body, creating friction between Z country's troops and local people, and damaging Z country's reputation. Some of these have been implemented, while others are in the planning stages.
It has a signature, a confidentiality stamp, and some pages even have handwritten annotations—it's sufficient.
Li Feng put all the documents away and turned to look at Richard, whose face was ashen.
"You...you think getting these things will change anything?" Richard's voice was dry. "Hong Kong's operating rules are incredibly complex. Your people only stay in the barracks; the streets, offices, and parliament are all ours. Even if you distribute these papers, they'll be accused of forgery and sowing discord!"
Li Feng walked up to him and looked at him calmly: "Who said I need their belief?"
"Then what do you want?!"
"I just need to let the people who need to see it see it," Li Feng said calmly. "An excuse is all I need, understand?"
He raised his hand and gently pressed on Richard's neck.
The other person's body went limp, their heart stopped, and they collapsed beside the messy desk. Li Feng glanced at them one last time, then his figure slowly faded away, as if he had never been there.
