Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins

Chapter 171 The Death of Evil Throat

With a loud "boom," a burst of intense green light shattered, followed by a powerful explosion of magical energy.

As the shockwave spread outwards, Evita was thrown to the ground, her body rolling uncontrollably several times.

However, she quickly got up from the ground and wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. If it weren't for the armor she was wearing that had such excellent magic resistance, she might have already fainted.

"A young centaur." The goblin Evilthroat gripped his red cloak with one hand and pointed his longsword at Evita with the other. "Are you here to die?"

Evita gripped her lance tightly. This was the first time she had faced such a formidable enemy. The feeling was different from when she fought against the two chimeras with Charles. However, she had many teammates by her side, and Commander Charles was not flustered. Instead, he gave instructions to everyone with great skill.

"I'm here to kill you," she shouted, trying to calm herself down and not be so impatient or panicked. At the same time, she deliberately kept a distance from the goblin to make it easier for her to charge.

"You think you can take me?" Evilthroat made no attempt to hide his contempt. The powerful magic explosion he had just unleashed had knocked several goblins who couldn't escape in time to the ground. Their painful howls seemed to reflect Evilthroat's immense strength.

"You have nothing to be afraid of." Evita held her lance, her gaze fixed on the other person. "Without the holy water, without those slave soldiers, you are nothing."

"What a foolish centaur." Evilthroat raised his hand and shouted again, "Powerful Magic Blast!"

A powerful magical ability erupted once again, and green light flashed intensely where Evita was. However, this time, she was clearly on guard. Seeing that the opponent was about to cast a spell, she immediately reared up and jumped to the side.

A gust of air swept past her, kicking up a cloud of dust, but Evita didn't wait at all, grabbing her lance and charging towards the enemy at full speed.

Seeing that the spells had not harmed the centaur girl, Evilthroat prepared to cast another spell, but Evita, who was running at high speed, was clearly well-trained in combat. She made several lateral leaps in succession, making it difficult for Evilthroat to keep up with her movements. By the time the earth spirit was ready to cast a spell, Evita was already very close.

He had to grip his longsword tightly and switch to defense. "Damn it."

With a clang, the sound of weapons clashing rang out. Evil Throat staggered a few steps and struggled to steady himself. In that instant, he had narrowly avoided the opponent's high-speed charge and had also forcefully swung his longsword. Due to his clumsy reaction, the red cloak in his hand was also flung onto the grass beside him.

Evita bent her four hooves, kicking up a cloud of dust on the ground, then twisted her waist and swayed her lower body, pacing back and forth with a "tap-tap" sound, preparing to charge again.

The goblin's sword struck her lower body as the two passed each other. If she hadn't been wearing armor beforehand, she would have been torn open and bleeding profusely.

"You can't escape today. I will avenge my father." Evita rode her lance, searching for her opponent's weakness.

"Father?" Evilthroat stood still, his eyes constantly glancing at his fallen cloak, which contained something extremely important—the source of Evilthroat's army's "holy water." It couldn't be allowed to slip through his fingers. "I understand. You're that old centaur's daughter."

He pointed his sword at Evita, a cold smile on his face as he looked at the necklace on her chest. "No wonder I didn't find this necklace on his body when I killed him. It turns out I gave it to you."

"But it's nothing, you can see him in the Underworld Sea today."

"Hmph," Evita sneered, "The one who will die is you. Just as Charles said, without holy water and slave soldiers, you are nothing but a paper tiger."

"Paper tiger?" It took Evil Throat a moment to understand the meaning of the word. He smirked, gritting his teeth, "You've got some nerve. Is this Shire also a centaur from your tribe?"

"No." Evita lowered her lance and began searching for a charging path again. "He's not a centaur. He's a race you wouldn't even consider, a goblin."

"Goblins?" Evilthroat was taken aback for a moment, but quickly realized, "Trying to distract me with these? Anyone who says something like that must be an arrogant and conceited race, maybe even a powerful human mage."

"As I was right," Evita feinted, then charged forward again, the dust kicked up by her hooves billowing everywhere. "You scum of the forest, you only foolishly believe in those powers, ignoring what is truly important."

"Powerful Magic Blast!" Evilthroat shouted again, trying to stop the opponent's attack. Unfortunately, the goblin was not a qualified mage in the making; he did not have much talent in spellcasting, and the explosion still did not have much effect on the centaur girl.

With a "bang," he narrowly avoided the opponent's lance, but was knocked to the ground by the high-speed centaur.

He coughed, rolled over twice, and stood up, leaning on his longsword, his eyes fixed on the dashing centaur in front of him with a sinister gaze.

Evita held her lance upright. The magic burst had still injured her, making her feel her internal organs tremble and causing her some dizziness. But she tried her best to concentrate and vowed to kill the goblin. "You're very unwilling, aren't you? You didn't expect to be defeated by a group of centaurs and goblins, and to lose to a goblin."

"Goblins," Evilthroat spat out a mouthful of bloody phlegm, "they only deserve to be enslaved by us."

"It's a pity you were defeated today by the race you enslaved," Evita said loudly, gripping her lance, her hooves pounding the ground. Her armor gleamed in the sunlight, and the metal tip of her lance flashed with a deadly light, like the gaze of death.

"I cannot fail." Evil Throat roared, then grabbed his longsword and charged directly at the centaur girl. His idea was simple: as long as he closed the distance, the opponent would be unable to start her charge, and that lance was not very effective in close combat.

Seeing that her opponent had changed tactics, Evita immediately frowned and began running sideways to try to create some distance between herself and her opponent, but this only put her at a disadvantage.

"Powerful Magic Burst." Evilthroat cast the spell again, this time aiming at the centaur girl and locking onto her trajectory.

With a deafening boom, the magic exploded once more. In the green light, Evita was thrown to the ground. She coughed up blood and struggled to get up quickly. The powerful magic had injured her. If it weren't for the armor that Charles had given her, she would be close to death by now.

"Go dream in the Dark Sea!" Evil Throat shouted, charging forward with his longsword raised. At such close range, the centaur girl had no choice but to spread her legs and dodge him.

On the battlefield, roars echoed from all sides. The goblins and ogres were surrounded by many enemies in the open. Although Evilthroat wanted to kill the centaurs in front of him, he also knew that the longer the time dragged on, the more disadvantageous it would be for him.

He quickly narrowed his eyes, immediately ignoring Evita, and turned to run directly towards the red cloak that had just fallen, while glancing behind him, ready to unleash a magical burst on the centaur girl at any moment.

"If I get close enough, I'll risk getting slightly injured and kill her directly." Evilthroat made up his mind. He felt that he couldn't unleash many more powerful magical bursts, and Evita was still staring at him intently. He had to deal with her immediately. As long as he still had that thing in his cloak, Evilthroat's army could be rebuilt.

Seeing that the goblin had suddenly stopped chasing her and was instead trying to escape, Evita immediately adjusted her body, tucked her lance under her arm, and charged straight at him.

Her eyes were fixed on Evil Throat's retreating figure. "Just a few more seconds and I can kill him."

But then, the running goblin suddenly rolled forward, turned to face Evita, stretched out his right hand, and shouted with a sinister grin: "Powerful Magic Blast!"

The two were so close that Evita, who was running wildly, had no time to dodge to the side. She could now see the cold eyes of the man with the icy throat. His ugly red nose and sharp yellow teeth showed his ferocity.

Despair washed over her for a moment, and in that instant, Evita felt that time was passing so slowly. The chaotic sounds around her seemed to disappear at that moment, and she could only hear her own breathing and the sinister laughter from the other side.

With a sharp whoosh, a piercing sound came from behind the curtain, and a flash of light appeared. The hand that Evil Throat raised was struck by a sharp arrow, which not only interrupted his spellcasting but also ruined his plans.

At the same time, the arrow made him pause. Just as he was about to defend himself, a lance was already in front of him, and he also saw a pair of angry eyes.

With a "thud," the lance pierced through his chest, sending him flying backward with the powerful impact. The lance pierced his heart, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. He gripped the lance shaft tightly with both hands, but pain and weakness immediately overwhelmed his body. His eyes were fixed on the centaur girl in front of him, and blood uncontrollably spilled from his mouth.

"I..." He opened his mouth, trying to say something. He wanted to ask why this was happening, how these centaurs and goblins could possibly kill him, and who was behind them. But there was no chance. Darkness had swallowed him up. The goblin evil throat limply lowered his hands, his eyes wide open and motionless.

Evita gripped her lance tightly, looking at the enemy she had lifted into the air. After confirming that the enemy was truly dead, tears welled up in her eyes.

"Father."
