Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins

Chapter 219 They've all met.

Charles told the white-haired man to go and attend to the mother goblin's birthing, then walked a few steps and looked at Little John walking towards him.

Upon closer inspection, he recognized that the hooting owl hopping along beside his men was actually a large owl, much bigger than the ones in the forest, at least several sizes larger.

"You're back," Charles said with a smile, "but why did you bring back a 'round-faced, chubby chicken'?"

Upon hearing Charles's words, John's lips twitched, while Sansio, sitting on his shoulder, chuckled and covered his mouth, almost bursting out laughing.

Charles frowned slightly, then glanced at the chubby owl, which stood there with its head tilted at almost a 90-degree angle, staring at him with its two big brown eyes, occasionally blinking a few times.

"Uh," he thought for a moment, then immediately understood what had happened. He straightened his clothes slightly and said politely, "Welcome, Miss Druid."

The "round-faced fat chicken" tilted its head, sizing up the goblin in front of it. It didn't speak immediately, but waited a few seconds before opening its mouth and saying, "If I hadn't known the situation beforehand, I would have really thought I was under an illusion."

"A goblin can speak Common Tongue?" Shar asked with a smile, his hands behind his back.

"No," Sophia hopped forward a few steps, getting closer to the goblin in front of her, "that's just one thing. What really amazes me is everything here."

"Everything?" Charles raised an eyebrow, waiting for the other to say next.

"Yes, they had already told me a lot on the way," Sophia raised one wing and pointed to the two "goods" with their heads down beside her, without turning her head herself, staring at the goblin in front of her with her big round eyes, "but I was even more shocked when I actually saw all of this."

"Originally, they were creatures living at the very bottom of the forest, yet they managed to develop to such a level of civilization, with food, clothing, and utensils," she said, looking down at Xia's feet. "They even have shoes to wear, and these shoes probably look quite valuable."

"No, it's nothing," Charles said modestly. "It's just that our people are very hardworking."

"Industrious," Sophia blinked a few times, "this is the first time I've associated that word with goblins."

"Diligence alone doesn't seem to tell the whole story," she said, tilting her head again and staring at the goblin with interest. "Diligence alone can't create that kind of portal."

"Boss, I..." Little John stepped forward, trying to explain, but the owl interrupted him.

"They're a bit stupid, trying to lead me in circles through the forest. They didn't expect me to head straight for the 'Undying' Alchemy Workshop as soon as I arrived in Gieshorn," Sophia said. "Your men aren't very bright; they're nowhere near as smart as you."

As she drew closer, she opened her mouth and let out a series of "hehe" laughs. "I'm crazy to say that the intelligence of a human and a goblin is not as good as that of a goblin."

Charles looked the "round-faced fat chicken" up and down with great interest. He could imagine that the druid in front of him must be very smart, definitely not like the one Little John had described before, who always seemed to be half asleep. If that were the case, he certainly wouldn't have become a mid-to-high-level member of the Church of Earth and Life.

"So, now you've seen it for yourself." He smiled and stretched out his arms, naturally displaying himself in front of Sophia, further demonstrating that he was not in any danger.

At the same time, he was also quickly calculating the other party's thoughts. It seemed that this druid was not dangerous. If she were, Sansio would have given an immediate warning. So, did she take the initiative to come to him only because of that fallen druid?

"Yes, ever since I arrived in Giraffe Town, I've been amazed by everything," Sophia nodded, her feathers rippling slightly with her movement. "Strange teleportation arrays, completely different from the cumbersome teleportation systems we have now; interesting underground fortresses, they look ancient but are well-maintained; strange community structures, working goblins and flying goblins, although I haven't seen the centaurs yet, those skeletons brewing potions really gave me quite a fright."

She chuckled a few more times. "If those two hadn't just kept walking forward without paying any attention to the skeletons, I probably would have already started casting spells."

“Mr. Elton and his group,” Charles chose his words carefully, then continued, “they are not what you imagine, a group of summoned evil skeletons; they have their own story.”

"I can understand," Sophia said, raising one wing and waving it casually. "I can accept that a group of goblins are no longer so evil, so seeing the reactions of the skeleton brewing the medicine and Little John, I naturally accepted it quickly as well."

"However, I have some very important business to attend to here," the owl said, staring at the goblin in front of it, stopping its laughter and preparing to ask a question.

Hearing what the other party said, Charles nodded slightly. It seemed that the other party was going to ask something directly. That was good. He could finish dealing with this matter soon and focus on the upcoming battle with the goblins of the Feathered Serpent Kingdom.

In an instant, a thought flashed through his mind: if only the Naga prince were as dedicated as the druid in front of him.

Unfortunately, just as Sophia was about to ask a question, she heard the sound of scales scraping against the floor tiles from not far behind her, followed by a loud shout, "Leader, I'm here! I'm back! The elders told me to come back to see you!"

The sound immediately attracted their attention, and everyone turned to look behind them. They saw a male Naga carrying a large bag, hurriedly "swimming" towards them.

"You even have Naga here?" Sophia exclaimed in surprise. "That's incredible."

"Uh," Pazzani heard the druid's voice before he even got close, and he paused for a moment, "This 'round-faced fat chicken' can actually talk."

Charles's lips twitched. He was about to introduce himself when he suddenly realized he didn't know what to say.

Just then, the white-haired girl ran over quickly. Her eyes seemed red, as if she had just been crying. "Chief, something's happened. She might die."

"Will she die?" Charles frowned, immediately realizing that she might be referring to a problem during the mother goblin's delivery. Could it be a difficult birth?

"What's wrong?" Sophia noticed the change in Charles's expression and asked.

"The goblin in the tribe is giving birth, and it might be having a difficult delivery," Charles said, frowning. He didn't know how to handle the situation.

"Phew," Sophia exhaled softly, then said, "Let me see."

"Have you ever delivered a baby for a human?" Charles immediately raised an eyebrow and asked.

"No, I've delivered monkey babies."
