The corner gives the wooden martial arts master, whose martial arts are equivalent to a harem.

Chapter 15 At this moment, a new golden martial art is on its way.

After practicing the Great Sage's Splitting Palm twice, Gu Chuanhen was called back by Ling Feixing.

Xiang Bofu had already returned to the tree with the old white ape that had taken a bath.

The four people and the monkey were staring at Gu Chuanhen with terrifying eyes, as if he were looking at a 'toy'.

"Looks like he just practiced the Great Sage's Splitting Palm technique." Xiang Bofu stared intently at Gu Chuanhen's hands.

Unlike usual, Gu Chuanhen's hands were rosy and had a slightly "swollen" appearance.

Tongbei and Pigua share the same origin and have similar fighting styles and moves. What they have in common is the connection to the "flow of blood and qi".

When you raise your arms and swing your palms, the blood in your arms is "thrown" towards the endpoint, which is your palms. When the blood flows into your palms, it causes congestion.

When the palms are filled with blood, they will naturally become red and swollen.

"How about I give Master Monkey a demonstration as a warm-up?" Lu Wu patted the white ape's arm, and the latter immediately understood.

With a light, controlled movement, his left fist exploded out with a crisp, powerful sound.

The point of impact was Lu Wu.

Lu Wu did not transform into a beast on his face, but his hands, like tiger claws, grabbed at the thumb and little finger roots of the old ape's left fist, one on the left and one on the right.

The tiger claws on both hands, seemingly opening and closing like tiger mouths, fiercely clamped down on the old ape's left fist.

While holding back his strength, he squeezed his arms together like a hungry tiger closing its jaws, and the fingertips of both hands were already deeply embedded in the flesh of the old ape's fist.

The old ape's smile remained unchanged, pleased with his apprentice's rapid and vigorous progress.

Then its back stretched out, and its already long arms, which reached past its knees, suddenly extended forward a bit more.

Lu Wu blocked the left fist with his tiger claws, but then his long right ape arm relaxed and exerted force, and the force that had been sinking down exploded in the air as the arm was thrown out.

The arm is swung like a smashing monument, using a striking motion to push downwards in an instant.

The whip-like ape arm swiftly reached Lu Wu's neck and head in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, it was as if Lu Wu had grown nine tiger tails. His tailbone exploded, and it seemed as if fire rushed through his body. He retreated and bent over, shifting his center of gravity to grab the old ape's left arm and pull it downwards.

With a twisting and turning motion, the tiger claw flips the old ape's left arm upwards, then suddenly releases and pushes it away.

The old ape suddenly clasped his left and right hands together.

A sharp, resounding crash echoed through the forest.

Like a thunderclap from a clear sky, it startled a flock of birds in the distance, causing them to fly away in disarray.

But the old ape felt no pain or itch when his hands collided; he simply laughed and flicked his hands, striking with both hands.

A string of firecrackers exploded one after another.

Lu Wu dodged and weaved through the Tongbi attacks, occasionally using his tiger claws to deflect and parry.

Neither the man nor the monkey was injured, which shows they were holding back. Of course, they were just playing and demonstrating; they weren't really fighting.

Even if it's just for fun, it's not something ordinary people can get involved in.

Gu Chuanhen watched the masters clash, his face turning ashen.

If he had gone up there himself, he probably would have died.

Zhuge Jing then began to explain.

"Tongbeiquan, also known as Tongbeiquan, is named so that you can tell that the key points of this boxing style are the 'arms' and the 'back'. Because the key points are the arms and back, the basic requirements for the lower body can only be described as normal. If a disciple wants to practice the lower body, it depends on his own initiative."

Throughout history, numerous schools of Tongbei Secret Fist have emerged, with as many as 108 variations derived from Tongbei Sanshou alone. Regardless of the school, the training method and secret fist techniques practiced are all based on the "Tongbei Monkey" style, meaning they are fundamentally the same.

She became a different person at this moment, losing all her anime/manga aura and revealing only the sincerity of a martial artist towards the way of martial arts.

Gu Chuanhen thanked Zhuge Jing, then turned to Ling Feixing and asked, "Are there many schools of Tongbei Quan?"

"my country has a long history, and its martial arts naturally have diverse origins. No matter what kind of martial art it is, there are many schools. Just take Tongbei Quan as an example, there are well-known styles such as White Ape, Five Elements Five Monkeys, Six Harmonies, and Pi Gua Tong Bei, not to mention other Tongbei Quan styles that are not as famous but are just as good."

Pi Gua Tong Bi is a combination of Pi Gua and Tong Bi.

However, despite the many schools of thought, the underlying principles remain unchanged.

Historically, Tongbei Quan (a style of Chinese martial arts) has always prioritized selecting tall, strong, and physically imposing disciples to learn it. This is because it emphasizes "long-range strikes," meaning the longer the arm span, the greater the power of a Tongbei strike.

A fist like iron emphasizes the hardness and weight of the hand after it's engorged with blood; a wrist like cotton signifies flexibility and suppleness; and arms like whips represent the resilient power of a whip-like swing.

Ling Feixing explained the key points, while Xiang Bofu provided supplementary information.

"You can think of a whip. The tip of the whip is like a fist that extends through your arm. The old man in the park can always make a sound when he cracks his whip because the speed of the whip tip creates a miniature sonic boom."

Ordinary, novice martial artists have to rely on their clothes to make a sound when they strike something, much like the sound of a clean, dried bed sheet being shaken. Another source of sound is the sound of the blows hitting their own body during practice.

But a martial artist who has mastered internal energy can produce a crisp sound simply by flicking their wrist. You can imagine what it would feel like to be hit by a fist that can create a sonic boom.

Gu Chuanhen couldn't even imagine it, but suddenly the image of a smashed watermelon came to mind. In the eyes of a martial artist, a human head and a watermelon are probably not much different.

Ling Feixing brought Gu Chuanhen's association back to reality.

"I have combined the styles of many different Tongbei schools to create a Tongbei Fist for you. You can name it yourself."

Ling Feixing is practically a muse for the martial arts world, with an inexhaustible source of inspiration for creating martial arts techniques. Of course, this is also inseparable from her profound understanding of various martial arts styles.

In terms of fighting, Ling Feixing might not be very good; but when it comes to being tailor-made, no one in the world can surpass her.

She is the pinnacle of the martial arts world, tailored to individual needs.

"Another specialized martial art, huh?" Gu Chuanhen thought of the Great Sage's Splitting Palm.

"Indeed, it is a martial art unique to you." Ling Feixing nodded, and then spoke eloquently, "Although there are many styles of Tongbei Quan, I chose the Five Elements Five Monkeys Tongbei as the main style."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Gu knew there must be more to the story.

Xiang Bofu stood aside, waiting patiently for the next part of the story, just like a diligent and eager-to-learn apprentice.

"The so-called Five Elements Five Monkeys Tongbei is actually an internal martial art formed by combining Tai Chi and Tongbei Quan. So it can also be called Tai Chi Tongbei. After you practice it, it will make it easier for you to practice Tai Chi later."

However, the essence of the Tongbei style that I have developed is the Five Elements and Five Monkeys.

The five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—correspond to the stone monkey, macaque, ramie, and ape. The fifth monkey is the last one—you need to name it yourself.

Ling Feixing's teaching plan was indeed meticulously structured.

Bajiquan and Piguazhang complement each other's strengths and weaknesses. The basic monkey fist of Dasheng Piguazhang can be included in Xingyi monkey form. Furthermore, Dasheng Piguazhang connects to the Five Elements Five Monkeys Tongbei, laying the foundation for Xingyiquan San Ti Zhuang Gong and the Five Elements Fist. San Ti Zhuang Gong is also interconnected with Taijiquan. Adding the Taiji aspect of the Five Monkeys Tongbei achieves a foundational superposition.

By combining his previous training with Fei Xing's guidance on future planning, Gu Chuanhen had developed a different perspective.

Martial arts are actually just like this. They have always been interconnected. Although they may seem different, they all lead to the same goal because they are all intangible cultural heritage treasures born from the same cultural lineage.

However, are they stone monkeys, macaques, tamarins, or apes?

"The Spiritual Stone Monkey, the Six-Eared Macaque, the Red-Bottomed Macaque, and the Long-Armed Ape?" Gu Chuanhen keenly grasped the core themes of these four monkeys.

"That's right, that's exactly it. When the four monkeys of chaos merge into one, the fifth one will be the monkey that you only need to name yourself. Among these four monkeys, the stone monkey is born from earth and stone. Earth produces metal, so it belongs to the metal of the lungs and the earth of the spleen."

Furthermore, since metal and earth represent the earth, the stone monkey belongs to the "earth" element among the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind. The Kun trigram corresponds to the abdominal area of the human body. Refining the stone monkey is equivalent to refining the lungs, abdomen, spleen and stomach within the abdomen, along with the Ren meridian, left shoulder, muscles, digestive system, and other parts of the human body.

When a person is well-fed, well-digested, and breathes freely, their brain has enough energy and oxygen to think, thus enabling them to be "intelligent and clear-headed," hence the name "intelligent stone monkey."

Ling Feixing started giving some "shocking" speeches again, but Gu Chuanhen didn't think they were anything shocking.

After all, the concept of "The Great Sage Splitting the Hook" is a gem.

Ling Feixing glanced at Xiang Bofu and knew that Xiang Bofu was pondering the reasoning. Zhuge Jing was smart and could draw inferences from one instance to another, so there was no need to test her. She then looked at Gu Chuanhen.

She didn't have high expectations for Gu Chuanhan; she just wanted him to understand, not to think deeply about it. After all, you can't make a child learn calculus right after they've learned addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

"Senior sister, I have gained some insight. Please continue, thank you." Xiang Bofu was very polite.

"The Six-Eared Macaque is Sun Wukong's Mind Monkey. When Sun Wukong killed the Mind Monkey, the Six-Eared Macaque, it signified that the Journey to the West had entered a new stage, and Sun Wukong would no longer be divided and cause chaos in the universe."

The six ears correspond to the six senses of joy, anger, sorrow, happiness, evil, and desire. They are also the six senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought. Furthermore, they are the six desires recorded in the Tang Dynasty's "Taoist Essentials" that correspond to the six senses in Buddhism. These "six ears" are further subdivided into three pairs, which mean the three poisons and the three corpses.

In Buddhism, the three poisons are greed, anger, and ignorance. Although the three poisons originated from Taoism, they may be referred to as the three corpses in Taoism.

The three corpses, upper, middle, and lower, correspond to bad desires, the mind that gives rise to delusions, and the mind's spirit that is confused.

The six desires and three poisons all originate from the mind; therefore, the Six-Eared Macaque needs to correspond to the fire element of the Four Elements.

The heart belongs to the fire element, corresponds to the Li trigram, and is associated with parts of the body such as the eyes, heart, upper burner, head and face, throat, and small intestine.

Because the six desires and three poisons are hidden in the heart, it is necessary to burn away the poisonous desires in the heart with fire so that the mind can be clear and the eyes can be bright.

Therefore, the Six-Eared Macaque corresponds to the refinement of the heart and blood, and the strengthening of the parts corresponding to the Li trigram. A strong heart leads to a more vigorous blood flow, which further refines the six ears within the heart, resulting in a strong body and a clear mind.

"Interesting. So what about the red-bottomed macaque? Does it correspond to the buttocks?" Zhuge Jing patted her own buttocks.

"It doesn't just correspond to a buttock; it actually corresponds to the lower three parts of the body. I don't need to elaborate on the five internal organs related to the lower three parts, right?" Ling Feixing knew that Zhuge Jing had already understood the meaning.

"It's the kidney," Xiang Bofu answered quickly.

"That's right, it's the kidneys. The kidneys belong to the water element, which corresponds to the water element in the Four Elements theory. When Sun Wukong returned from the Dragon Palace with the Golden Cudgel, he taught the monkeys to practice. He appointed the four old monkeys as generals and the two red-bottomed macaques as Marshals Ma and Liu."

Why do we need to use "Ma Liu" (马流)? Is it a homonym for "horse" (马骝)? While that might be true, for us martial artists, we need to analyze the connection between "Ma Liu" and its meaning through deconstruction.

In the Eight Trigrams, the horse corresponds to the Qian trigram, which symbolizes heaven and vigorous movement. As a vigorous animal, the horse perfectly embodies the image of the Qian trigram.

The Qian trigram represents strength and corresponds to the head, above which is the hair. Furthermore, the kidneys are the foundation of innate essence, storing innate essence. Since they belong to the innate, they correspond to a strong body. If the kidneys are weak, the brain will naturally be weak as well. Insufficient kidney essence can also lead to forgetfulness, right?

From this perspective, the character "流" (liú, flow) corresponds to water, which aligns with the kidneys' association with water. Sufficient kidney essence leads to abundant vital energy, which in turn results in abundant blood, which nourishes the hair.

The saying "Hair is the surplus of blood, and the health of the kidneys is reflected in the hair" illustrates the connection between the kidneys and the brain.

The red-bottomed macaque corresponds to strengthening the kidneys and improving physical health. If one is healthy, one can eat and drink well. Since one is healthy and can eat and drink well, how can one's brain not be strong? And if one's brain is strong, wouldn't one be clever?

Therefore, the five internal organs that the two red-bottomed macaques strengthen are their kidneys. The Kan trigram represents water and corresponds to the kidneys, bladder, ears, and reproductive system.

"By process of elimination, the final Long-Armed Ape corresponds to the wind of the Four Elements, and wind is associated with the Xun trigram, which belongs to wood. Therefore, the Long-Armed Ape corresponds to the liver." Gu Chuanhen was not a complete novice. He had been reading "The Original Meaning of Journey to the West" and searched for parts he didn't understand in the book to acquire the knowledge he needed on his path to martial arts.

Fei Xing's admiration increased suddenly. Satisfied, he affectionately pinched Gu Chuanhen's little face and then explained the underlying meaning.

"The two gibbones are Generals 'Ben' and 'Ba'."

The homonym "奔芭" might not be immediately apparent when viewed alone, but what about "蹦跶"? Monkeys naturally love to jump around, so using "蹦跶" to describe them is quite fitting.

So what about the connection between Benba and [another person/organization]?

"Wushan is indeed strange, last night there was thunder." Xiang Bofu quoted a line from Du Fu's poem "Morning", and then he continued, "Thunder is the character '奔' (bēn), which belongs to the Zhen hexagram. The character '芭' (bā) only needs to be looked at its top part, which is '草' (cǎo). Banana trees are trees, and grass and trees are wood. Grass and trees are tangible, while wind is intangible. But as long as it blows over grass and trees, we can know that there is also the natural phenomenon of thunder striking wood."

Therefore, the Zhen trigram and the Xun trigram both belong to the wood element, thus Benba corresponds to wind and thunder, which also belong to the wood element.

"The force of wind and thunder can be described as 'rushing', just as the feng shui in the architectural environment is always flowing continuously in a closed model. This feng shui can also be described as a magnetic field. Magnetism generates electricity and electricity generates magnetism, which is also a kind of 'thunder' flowing continuously."

Therefore, the Benba wind and thunder correspond to the liver wood, the Zhen trigram corresponds to the liver, nervous system, feet, etc., and the Xun trigram corresponds to the gallbladder, thigh, sense of smell, skin, etc.

The trigrams Zhen and Xun represent mutual support and understanding.

The liver stores blood and is also the main hematopoietic organ during fetal development. The liver and kidneys together are a transitional organ. As the fetus develops and grows, the kidneys become stronger and the bones become more robust, leading to hematopoiesis in the bone marrow.

Therefore, Benba and Maliu, two red-bottomed macaques and two gibbon monkeys are collectively known as the Four Warriors. The Four Warriors correspond to the liver, gallbladder and kidneys. If the liver, gallbladder and kidneys are strong, why worry about not being healthy?

The Spiritual Stone Monkey, along with his own bewildered Six-Eared Mind Monkey, and the Benba Horse, formed the Four Heroes of Flower Fruit Mountain.

"If one's body is in a blessed land like Flower Fruit Mountain or a celestial cave like the Water Curtain Cave, one will be strong, healthy, and have a clear mind and sharp eyes, able to survive in any world."

Zhuge Jing and Xiang Bofu spoke differently, but their answers were essentially the same.

"That's right. The human body is a blessed land, and the Five Elements, Eight Trigrams, and Four Monkeys correspond to the five internal organs and the entire body, inside and out. When the four monkeys unite to form the last monkey, it corresponds to the 'Primordial Spirit.' Only with a strong and healthy body can one cultivate both body and spirit simultaneously. Don't you agree, Xiao Gu?"

Ling Feixing, with her bright and charming eyes, responded to Gu Chuanhen's sudden inspiration on the train.

She did take the boy's words to heart, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to call back now.

Gu Chuanhen felt that no matter what girl, young woman, or woman appeared in the future, none of them could shake Ling Feixing's position in his heart.

After all, although there are many people of the opposite sex in this world, very few can remember your preferences and words. Ultimately, it comes down to whether they care about you or not.

Therefore, it is easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but difficult to go from extravagance to frugality. Once you have tasted delicacies, it is hard to swallow coarse food. The same applies to relationships.

"You're right, Teacher Ling," Gu Chuanhen responded to this concern, "and I will respect and love you even more!"

"Why does it sound like the language of a powerful person? Haha?"

"What is the language of the strong?" Xiang Bofu asked Zhuge Jing.

"It's Haihu," Ling Feixing replied immediately.

"That sounds interesting. I'll go back and check it out."

While the senior and junior students chatted, Xiao Gu seemed hesitant to speak.

Dude, with your muscles that can generate electricity on their own, you'd better not read that book.

Before I could even say it, Gala jumped up and forwarded it.

"But the idea goes beyond just the five monkeys; it lies in the very essence."

"Indeed, how could the intentions you, beautiful lady, have created with Fei Xing's vision stop here? Absolutely not! They won't easily stop here! There are already many other pillars and beams hidden within them!"

They listened with great interest to Bajiquan and Dasheng Piguazhang, and then, in unison, revealed another hidden meaning behind Ling Feixing's teachings.

The ancients hated it so much that they immediately picked up other people's leftovers.

"And what about the concept of four beams and eight pillars? If we're talking about four pillars, I can only think of the four pillars that Nuwa used to support the sky when she mended it."

Upon hearing Gu Chuanhen's additional words, Feixing's lips curled up into a wide smile. Her expression then turned solemn and dignified, and she pointed one finger to the sky and the other to the ground.

"Disciple, tell me, what makes a person able to stand tall and upright?"

She asked.

"Spine?" Gu Chuanhen subconsciously gave the correct answer, but it wasn't entirely accurate in the current context.

Ling Feixing nodded first, then shook his head.

"The arms reach to the sky, the legs stand firm on the ground." Ling Feixing shook his arms and patted his legs.

Then he stroked his back and said, "And this spine that allows us to stand, the twenty-four vertebrae, are the eight pillars of the spine, and the sacrum and coccyx are the roots of the eight pillars."

"The four limbs and the spine are the four pillars that support a person's upright posture. Corresponding to the four monkeys are the Ruyi Jingu Bang (magic cudgel), the white jade pillar supporting the sky, the purple gold beam spanning the sea, and the black ice iron that satisfies one's heart."

With all four limbs intact, even in poverty, one can earn a living with their hands and feet, and live with dignity. Because of these limbs, both men and women can support a family; this is what makes a person upright and indomitable.

Even if one is missing hands and feet, or even all four limbs, no matter how dire the situation, one can still stand tall and proud with one's spine. Although living without limbs is certainly difficult, it is precisely because one has a spine that one will not bend. This backbone allows one to remain calm in the face of honor and disgrace, and to continue living tenaciously. Even if one does not live long, one will not be criticized, because one has persevered to the very end, and there is no shame in that.

Where does our backbone come from? It comes from the resilience of those who have toiled in the fields for thousands of years.

This resilience always allowed us to survive when other races wanted to exterminate us, and continued until we incorporated them into our culture, and until those other races that had not yet been assimilated into our civilization were terrified of us and dared not invade.

This resilience comes from our core strengths and foundations.

Therefore, our "body," our resilience, and our integrity are the four pillars that support us and help us stand tall.

The four beams are like the four limbs, and the eight pillars are like the spine that supports us as we move forward proudly. The four beams are like the four monkeys, and the eight pillars are like the fifth monkey.

The monkey is a mythical creature, and so it is said that kings, marquises, generals, and ministers are not born with a special destiny.

We are not, but we can be, because the training and tempering of us martial artists is the key to becoming kings and generals, allowing us to climb step by step upwards.

We martial artists are ourselves, the kings and generals.

Do you think we have guts? Of course we have guts, that's why we're not cowards or weaklings.

Therefore, even if we haven't reached the point where we can cultivate both body and mind, the nascent fifth monkey has already been tempering our spines, ensuring that we will never be cowards.

"Through arms and back, through beams and backs. By connecting the arms, back, and spine, the great dragon is revitalized; what fear is there of not being able to soar through the heavens? Let us turn that unjust heaven upside down!"

Ling Feixing patted Gu Chuanhen on the back. Gu Chuanhen was not hunchbacked, so Ling Feixing did not say anything like "stand up straight".

"Now, what do you think this Tongbei style should be called?" She was guiding Gu Chuanhen to name this new, exclusive martial art.

After pondering for a moment, Gu Chuanhen revealed the answer.

"How about we call it—'Turning the Sky Upside Down'?"

Qi Tian is only equal to the heavens. Since he is already a martial artist, he should overturn the injustices of the world and destroy them completely to make it truly satisfying.

The heavens and earth were turned upside down, and with the upside-down heavens and earth, the unjust earth was naturally overturned as well. In this process of upheaval, the moving body naturally replaced the spine, the eight pillars, the four beams, and the four limbs.

When the spine and limbs are unblocked, the body becomes healthy and strong, and the mind becomes clear and intelligent. This physical strength cultivates character and spirit, which in turn forges an indomitable spirit to defy all calamities.

In this way, those who are kneeling can stand up, and those who are standing can stand tall and upright.

"Fan Tian Tong Bei, what a great name! It sounds like a golden legend, haha." Zhuge Jing nodded to Gu Chuanhen.

Gu Chuanhen looked at the words smeared on his face with an awkward smile.

Although you haven't practiced it yet, I've already created a new folder and named it "Fan Tian Tong Bei".

Keep practicing! Once you get the basics down, you'll start working on other techniques and become a legendary master, no less powerful than Bajiquan or Dasheng Piguazhang.

But it will be more difficult to conquer than you imagine. It's no pushover.

Anyway, keep going, Gu Chuanhen.

I'm waiting for you to let me see 'women' fight.
