Chapter 376 The Imprisoned Goddess and the Goddess's Demon-Binding Wand
Chapter 376 The Imprisoned Goddess and the Goddess's Demon-Binding Wand
The core area of the swamp.
In a collapsed temple, Su Nan used magic to restore it. The temple, located deep in the swamp, was automatically restored inch by inch, brick by brick, even the scattered fragments within the swamp were restored. This was something Su Nan had accomplished by skillfully using dimensional power.
This is the War Hand magic that Su Nan obtained from the native wizard Drizzt of the werewolf plane.
However, this restoration magic is merely superficial. Once the magic is canceled, the restored building will revert to its original state.
Su Nan looked into the swamp and saw the restored buildings, with strange and unusual statues displayed in the temple.
Some idols are actually strange animals, such as gods with the heads of toads but the bodies of humans.
The temple indicates that this is a toad god worshipped by a tribe in Asia Minor.
At the heart of the building is the statue of the Wizard Emperor.
For some reason, the statue of the Wizard Emperor is headless. It's as if the statue's head was cut off.
Sunan said, "Restoring this place is indeed worthwhile. This should be one of the core buildings of the Assyrian capital. If this is indeed a temple, then we should be getting close to the palace section of the Assyrian capital."
The Rye Matriarch said, "There are many gods here."
The Rubber Witch said, "There are at least a thousand gods in this temple. Perhaps these are the statues of gods that the Wizard Emperor collected and conquered."
"However, most of the gods here seem to be primordial gods who are merely nominal, not true gods."
Vasilyan scoffed. "Just over a thousand lies."
"The true God is a grand lie, and the primordial gods are smaller lies. There's not much difference between them."
Deep within the temple, Su Nan saw a statue of a goddess lying on the ground, bound by iron chains. A dagger was embedded in the goddess's chest, its two sides covered in mysterious runes.
The Rye Matriarch instinctively reached for the dagger to pull from the goddess's chest.
The Rubber Witch was also very interested in the dagger.
Because that dagger, which was clearly marked with a large number of unfamiliar runes, was a powerful magical weapon.
But Su Nan immediately shouted at Heimai, "Stop! Don't touch it!"
The Rubber Witch and the Rye Mistress were startled. The Rye Mistress quickly said to Su Nan, "Master, I wanted to offer you that dagger."
The Rubber Witch quickly added, "Lord Su Nan, that's what I think too."
Su Nan glanced at the Rubber Witch.
He could confirm the loyalty of the Rye Mistress, but the Rubber Witch was merely a collaborator with him.
Su Nan said calmly, "You've misunderstood me. I was just stopping you from courting death."
He pointed to the area beneath the goddess statue, and as Su Nan's magical energy surged forth, a line of magical text appeared on the ground beneath the statue.
The Rye Mistress and the Rubber Witch exchanged a glance, and both their expressions changed slightly.
Vasilyan stepped forward and read the words aloud.
"I, Caspian Quinn, the Magic Emperor of the Assyrian Empire, have imprisoned the goddess of victory of the Fairy Wilderness gods here. From now on, I, Caspian Quinn, will be invincible. For the goddess of victory will forever be with me, while the gods of the Fairy Wilderness, having lost their goddess of victory and wealth, will never again enjoy their glory."
"The Goddess's Prisoner Dagger and Wand will forever bind this goddess."
Victory is always in my hands.
The Rye Matriarch was completely baffled by the gods of the [Fairy Wilderness]. "Can the goddess of victory be imprisoned?"
The Rubber Witch said, "Not the goddess of victory, but the goddess of victory and wealth. In the library of our school of witches, I saw a legend—besides the gods of the heavens (the astral plane), there are many other pantheons in the planes of the void."
"Those pantheons are simply referred to as the gods of the celestial realm by the gods of the terrestrial realm."
"Those pantheons are far less powerful than the gods of the celestial realm. But the Fairy Wilderness is an outer plane, and I haven't heard of any gods there."
Su Nan added a sentence.
"The Magic Emperor Caspian Quinn is already a third-circle wizard. Second-circle wizards can travel between planes and borrow the power of other planes. A third-circle wizard might actually be able to slay a god, who knows? At least Caspian Quinn's enemies are only the gods of the Fairy Wilderness."
The Rye Matriarch quickly retreated, no longer daring to approach the goddess statue.
Su Nan then began to examine the goddess statue carefully, and he was disappointed to confirm that it was not the corpse of the goddess of victory and wealth in the Fairy Wilderness.
If so, then you've already posted it.
He examined it carefully and, with his telekinetic hand, grasped the Goddess's Prisoner Dagger Wand.
After all, that was a treasure of the third ring level, something even the Wizard Emperor used specifically to seal the goddess.
Of course, Su Nan didn't want to let it go.
After about twenty minutes of testing, Su Nan discovered that the magic power contained within the dagger was already very weak. Therefore, a second-ring wizard could probably pull out a dagger that would normally require a third-ring wizard.
Su Nan roared from inside the temple, "Everyone, lie down!"
After checking and confirming that there was no problem, he grasped the dagger and began to pull it upwards with force.
Immediately, a magical shockwave rippled outwards from the goddess statue.
Only Sunan, Vasilyan, and Wolf One, Wolf Two, and Wolf Three remained unharmed amidst the magical shockwave. If Sunan hadn't warned them beforehand, the Rye Mistress and the Rubber Witch would probably have been blown away.
As Su Nan pulled out the dagger, he had to withstand immense pressure. At the same time, many strange and wonderful statues in the temple began to tremble.
Many of the statues have cracked open.
Some of the statues, however, began to exhibit the spirituality of the deities.
Over there, a toad god with a toad's head and a human's lower body began to speak, as if a deity had entered it.
"After so many years, we have finally temporarily left the seal and returned to our idol."
A leopard-headed human-god statue responded, "That despicable Assyrian emperor, we will not forgive him. But now, we should kill those wizards who have broken into this temple; perhaps that will appease the Magic Emperor. I can sense that his power still exists, but it is lifeless, as if he is completely dead."
"If we can please him, maybe we can escape this cage."
A statue of a minotaur god, its eyes gleaming with divine light, hurtled towards the sky above the temple, its black bull-like form crashing down. "I can't endure this any longer. Today I will leave this temple that suppresses the gods."
"I will partake of the blood sacrifices of my believers; I will enjoy worship and sacrifice—that is the life I, as the god of the wilderness, should enjoy!"
The next moment, its weak and broken soul crashed into the top of the collapsed town temple.
In an instant, countless runes appeared on the roof of the Temple of the Gods, along with the words of the Magic Emperor of the Assyrian Empire.
The Assyrian Empire of wizards was supreme and absolute, where all things must obey its laws.
The next moment, the Minotaur's soul began to shatter after crashing into the roof. His soul gradually weakened and then completely disintegrated.
This terrified everyone, as all the weak false gods still remained in the Town God Temple.
"After killing the intruding wizards, the only way to escape is to curry favor with the emperor."
"Though the emperor is dead, his power remains!"
Su Nan became increasingly curious about what exactly was in the tomb of such a powerful wizard emperor that would interest the energy world and those foolish Pure White School.
Su Nan gripped the Goddess's Prisoner Dagger wand in his right hand and blocked a cheetah-headed god statue that attacked him with his left hand, while simultaneously unleashing his full magical pressure.
"That's really interesting."
"You want to please the emperor, but you don't want to fear me. Your argument is amusing, full of blindness and ignorance. Perhaps I should call you gods of the wilderness 'ignorant gods.'"
Under the demonic pressure from Su Nan, the aura of the god of law was also released.
This caused all the false gods of the wilderness who were suppressed by Su Nan's demonic pressure to suddenly change their expressions.
"It is the aura of the god of law."
"He's more than just a god; he's a chosen one. Every move he makes represents the will of the Heavenly King. Heavens, we don't want to be enemies of the God of Law."
"Could it be that the Lord of Law is finally taking back the four beasts that were bestowed upon the Assyrian Empire?"
"Misunderstanding, misunderstanding, we thought you were a wizard... this divine messenger."
Su Nan raised an eyebrow. "But I am a wizard."
The Ring of Myrcarts vibrated, and the image of the serpent god appeared.
Mylcat said to Sunan, "Sunan, these primordial deities can be considered the seeds of the divine. They all emerged by chance from the accumulation of time between nature and the human heart, and each one contains a great secret."
"The God of Storms was the former Chieftain of Storms, one of them, who later seized the opportunity to become a god."
"You can think of these gods of the wilderness as spirits or demons."
"Catch them; they'll definitely come in handy later. It would be such a waste to simply eliminate them."
Su Nan nodded. "That's true. Mylcat, it turns out you can sometimes come up with some really useful ideas."
Sunan ordered Vasilyan to take action.
Vasilyan had been wielding the Death Bone Sword, a weapon crafted from the spine of a second-ringed zombie. But upon hearing that Sunan intended to capture these Wild Gods, he instead conjured a black blade, which he then slashed at the toad god's head.
Suddenly, the toad god screamed from within its statue, "I've been struck by the wizard! I'm going to die! I'm going to die!"
The next moment, the Death Knight's seal symbol appeared on the statue's head.
Then, the Toad God was sealed away, and all his spirituality was gathered into the black blade in Vasilyan's hand.
Vasilyan looked at Su Nan, "I see. The biggest change for a second-ring Death Knight is the addition of sealing power."
"The objects killed by the black blade will only be sealed within my black blade, becoming spirits that I can control."
"Master, this power is truly impressive."
