One Piece: Starting with Breathing Techniques

Chapter 154 Breaking the Limit of Observation Haki

With a strange sense of anticipation, Kilo opened the panel.

[Proficiency Panel]

【Name: Kiro】

Age: 19

[Skills: Swordsmanship, Aura, Physical Techniques, Skills, Miscellaneous]

Current points: 1550

[Upgrade] [Deduction]

Looking at the points displayed on the panel, Kiro stroked his chin, lost in thought.

What aspects need improvement?

Kiro was somewhat moved when he thought of Ryoma, who had been resurrected by Schi.

Although they were both great swordsmen, he could clearly sense that Ryoma's level was slightly higher than his own, but not quite at the next level.

Is the great swordsman not the end of the way of the sword?

Therefore, upon seeing the most outstanding sword technique, the Dragon Slayer Sword Manual (Perfect), Kiro had an idea and decided to give it a try.

【"The Dragon-Slaying Sword Manual" (Completed)】

[Deduction requires ? points; upgrading to the limit requires 3000 proficiency points.]

Seeing this, Kiro raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.

At the time, upgrading it to the perfect level only required 800 points, which was already a huge expense.

But now, to upgrade it to "Limit Break" proficiency, it requires a whopping 3000 points?!

Although upgrading to the limit often requires more proficiency, he had previously tried to upgrade Sun Breathing to the limit, which cost him a lot of points at the time.

Unexpectedly, the number of points required to upgrade the Dragon Slayer Sword Manual from Perfection to Limit Break was three or four times higher.

Even with a huge sum of money at this moment, Kilo felt somewhat powerless against the exorbitant 3000 points.

Even though he really wanted to improve the Dragon Slayer Sword Manual, he could only look on with envy and turn his attention to other skills instead.

There is no need to further improve the "Burning Heaven and Boiling Sea Technique" for the time being, as its current killing power is already more than sufficient.

If he can't improve the Dragon Slayer Sword Manual, Kiro would prefer to improve some skills that would make him more powerful in actual combat.

If we're talking about the most frequently used in combat—

Without the slightest hesitation, Kiro decisively looked at the domineering type.

【"Conqueror's Haki" (Completed)】

[Deduction requires ? points; upgrading to the limit requires 1200 proficiency points.]

If we were to name the most powerful offensive skill he currently possesses, it would be Conqueror's Haki Entanglement, which can only be unlocked after reaching the perfect level of Conqueror's Haki!

This skill is absolutely worthy of being a standard for the strong. When added to an attack, its terrifying power will cause extremely exaggerated and devastating damage. For enemies who have not mastered this method, it is a complete dimensional reduction attack.

However, Kiro has gradually mastered the use of Conqueror's Haki, and the effect of raising Conqueror's Haki to its limit is not obvious.

More importantly, he currently only has 1550 points. If he chooses to upgrade Conqueror's Haki, the remaining 350 points will not be enough to upgrade other skills.

Rather than improving his Conqueror's Haki, Kiro prefers to use the points to address his other weaknesses.

He then turned his attention to the perfected dual-color domineering aura that he hadn't considered for a long time.

【Armament Haki (Perfect)】

[Deduction requires ? points; upgrading to the limit requires 1000 proficiency points.]

【Observation Haki (Completed)】

[Deduction requires ? points; upgrading to the limit requires 1000 proficiency points.]

Without exception, each one requires 1000 points to reach the limit.

After hesitating for a moment, Kilo's eyes suddenly lit up.

If I remember correctly, in the original work, if you train your Observation Haki to its limit, you can awaken your own special ability, such as the most classic one, represented by Katakuri, which is the ability to foresee the future!

The owner can not only see the opponent's next move, but also have a clear picture in their mind of what will happen a few seconds later.

This means that as long as they don't exceed the limits of their physical reaction, they can often avoid all attacks in advance and find the best time to counterattack!

During Katakuri's fight with Luffy, Katakuri was able to easily dodge almost all of Luffy's attacks, and even used the properties of his Devil Fruit to change his body shape to evade them. This was because he had already "seen" the future before Luffy made his move.

This ability also has certain limitations, requiring extreme calmness and focus, but overall it is definitely an extremely powerful ability.

In addition, there is the ability to perceive emotions and inner voices, and the rarest of all, to hear the voices of all things.

Those who awaken the latter are extremely rare; at least Kiro only knows that Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Luffy awakened this ability.

While it may not be as effective in combat as it is in predicting the future, its potential is far greater. It is the most mysterious ability and may even touch upon the very essence of the world.

Currently, there are very few people who possess these skills; in fact, they are few and far between.

After all, very few people can cultivate Observation Haki to this level.

However, this is not a problem for Kilo, who has a proficiency panel.

"If I raise my Observation Haki to its limit, I should be able to unlock my abilities, right?"

I just don't know which ability I'll awaken.

Foreseeing the future? Listening to the voice of all things? Or perhaps sensing emotions?

Instead of rushing to improve, Kilo took another look at the skills he currently possessed.

After upgrading his Observation Haki, he now has 550 points left, which is a rather awkward situation and not enough to upgrade his other main skills.

After thinking for a moment, Kilo decided to save the remaining points temporarily.

On one hand, it is to prepare for pushing the Dragon Slayer Sword Manual to the "limit-breaking" proficiency level; on the other hand, it is for occasional emergency use.

For example, this time, if he hadn't used the points he had accumulated in the previous period to forcibly restore his life to perfection at the critical moment and used his powerful recovery ability to withstand the explosion manipulated by Sitch, Kiro would probably have been seriously injured even if he didn't die.

Not to mention that they turned the tables on Squid and successfully destroyed Beehive Island.

Therefore, having learned from this experience, Kilo is unsure whether he might encounter any unforeseen circumstances that would require him to use his points urgently.

Let's just save the remaining points!

Kiro took a deep breath, no longer hesitating, and focused his mind on the Observation Haki section.

A myriad of thoughts merged into one in an instant, transforming into the purest intention: ["Observation Haki (Perfected)"]

[Upgrading to Limit Break requires 1000 proficiency points]

[Confirmed, points being deducted]

[Current points remaining: 550]

[Special effects unlocked————]

The next moment, Kiro suddenly closed his eyes tightly and frowned.

In the instant after the enhancement, his five senses suddenly became blurred for a moment, and an inexplicable sense of clarity surged into his heart.

His Observation Haki froze for a moment, then spread outwards at an astonishing speed.

A massive amount of information, more detailed and clearer than before, flooded Kilo's mind. Every wave around him seemed to be slowed down by 0.1 times in his perception.
