Chapter 102 Battle of Three-Sided Attack

The cultists' chosen ones had already reached the east gate, while the few remaining people there were not very clear, but they all seemed to be adventurers.

Two of these people were charging at the cult leader.

We can't just stand by and watch anymore; we have to go help them.

"Lince, are the soldiers still able to fight?"

The female knight had already bandaged her wounds, and Lindsay saw that her health was rapidly recovering on her panel.

"It's not working well. Nobody can stand up, but they don't seem to be dying anytime soon."

"We'll have to ignore them for now," Karina said, picking up her weapons again. "This cult leader's bizarre magic is really bothering us."

Also, I was actually a bit careless just now. I underestimated the level of the four guards beside him and used my combat skills too late. Otherwise, I wouldn't have ended up in such a sorry state. I hope you won't underestimate my strength.

Combat skill? That makes sense. Presumably, Karina's combat skill enhances physical strength. I can ask her about it later and see if I can learn it.

She thanked Lin Sai again, saying, "Thank you for helping me earlier. Now let's get ready and head to the East Gate to help!"

……

In the sky, the moon had emerged from the clouds, its pale light illuminating the surroundings of Wind and City.

At the east gate of Wind and City, all the cultists who had besieged the guards and adventurers had been killed or wounded.

The cult leader had drawn his two oddly shaped, sharp daggers and was confronting the four Silver-rank adventurers who were still standing.

"How's the half-elf doing? Can he still fight?"

"Iron Spear" held his pointed spear in front of him and shouted behind him, receiving a response from the dwarf "Tank Shield".

"Foaming at the mouth, unconscious—the little girl has been struck by a strange spell and hasn't recovered yet!"

Lance, the squad leader of [Zinc Steel], nodded to the man with the spiked hammer next to him, who understood.

"Tucker, you take care of Delia. The two of us will test this cult leader's strength!"

After saying that, Lance raised his two-handed sword, and together with his teammates, they shouted and charged toward the Chosen One of Dakul, who was more than ten meters away.

"Dakur, descend upon you..."

The cult leader's inhuman, monstrous voice rang out as he threw two daggers at the two Silver-rank adventurers who were charging forward.

The daggers flew like blades, one heading towards the two-handed swordsman Lance, while the other hurtled towards the man with the spiked mace. Their speed was even faster than the flesh-rotting attack that the Chosen One had previously unleashed from his arms.

The two reacted swiftly, each making a wide dodge to the left or right, thus avoiding the attack.

However, the two daggers, after being thrown behind, changed trajectory and swung back like boomerangs, flying towards the backs of the two unsuspecting people.

"Watch out!!"

The dwarf Tak roared a warning, and at the same time, he grabbed his giant shield and instantly appeared behind the leader of the [Zinc Steel] squad.

But just before the two sharp daggers were about to touch the dwarf's iron shield, they suddenly changed their flight path, circling around in a strange arc and striking the two men in the back.

One of them was deeply embedded in Lance's chainmail, stuck in his flesh, while the other pierced through his leather armor from behind and flew through the chest of the man with the spiked mace!

The man with the nail-headed hammer immediately exploded in a cloud of blood, screamed in agony, and fell headfirst forward.

A large amount of blood gushed from the back of the silver-level adventurer, pooling on the ground within seconds.

Lance was knocked down by the force of the dagger. He endured the intense pain in his back and pulled out the sharp dagger. The dwarf immediately applied medicine to the bandage and skillfully bandaged it.

The bandage was completed in less than half a minute, and Lance, with the help of the dwarf "Tower Shield," struggled to his feet. The latter's expression was pained, his beard trembled, and he was unable to speak.

"Tucker, get revenge!"

A surge of rage welled up in Lance's heart. He gripped his two-handed sword tightly and charged once more at the cult leader who was standing five or six meters away, like a wounded and enraged beast.

"I'll help you too!" "Iron Spear" followed behind, his spear gleaming faintly, ready to unleash his combat technique.

"【Zinc Steel】!"

"We're here! Hang in there!"

An arrow flew from the direction of the Iron Fang squad.

On either side of the cultist chosen ones were three adventurers from the Iron Fang squad, along with Lindsay and Karina, who were also rushing towards them at close range.

The arrow, carried by the wind, struck the cult leader in the back. He staggered forward a few steps and then let out a low growl.

"The more the merrier!"

During the short time it took for the dagger to hit Lance and he was being bandaged, the cult leader seemed to already know that he had been targeted and was being attacked from three sides.

She raised her hands in front of her in three directions as if casting a spell, then raised her arms and launched chunks of rotten flesh toward Lance and the Iron Fang squad.

She then flicked her hands in the air, and the two sharp daggers flew up as if they had a mind of their own, returning to her hands.

In the direction of the two Silver-rank adventurer teams, the two dwarves, "Tower Shield" and "Tank Shield," were running behind, but they instantly appeared in front of their respective captains, using their giant shields to block the cultist's attack of rotting flesh.

The spells cast by the cultist chosen ones began to take effect.

"Why is it so dark?"

"Captain Wood, I'm blind!"

"Damn it!"

The panicked shouts of the [Iron Fang] and [Zinc Steel] squad members came from not far away, and Karina, who was in front of Linse, also suddenly stopped her charge.

"Suddenly everything went black, I can't see anything! This is [Darkness Blinding Spell]!"

Linsel was unaffected. When he heard the female knight say "[Darkness Blinding]", he immediately thought of his own "[Dark Vision]".

The level 3 [Dark Vision] monster ability allows it to see through true darkness, which is probably what makes it immune to the effects of this spell.

"Let me dispel the spell first, Lindsay, how are you?"

"I was not under a spell."

Linsel also stopped. He was holding the pulley crossbow that had been cocked earlier. He saw Karina put down her shield, reach into the small leather wallet at her waist, and find a small cloth bag wrapped with a thin rope.

She rubbed her hands together a couple of times to untie the thin string, then poured some of the powder inside into her mouth.

Linsel aimed at the cult leader. He knew he couldn't kill him instantly with a single crossbow bolt, but the bolt would serve as a distraction during that time.

The arrow flew out and struck the cult leader in the side of his waist, but Lindsay did not see any signs of injury on him.

"Alright, spell dispelled!"

After swallowing the powder, Karina regained her sight, picked up her shield again, and charged toward the cult leader.

Linsel also put down his crossbow and followed behind the female knight with his sword and shield.

Seeing that the two people to his south had regained their mobility, the cult leader turned around and threw two daggers toward Linse.
