Chapter 37 Little Ghoul

"Grandma Stella, where's my son? Isn't he in the shop?"

"Goat" greeted Stella, an old woman sitting in a chair, who stared blankly at the doorway before responding in a hoarse voice.

"What did you say?"

"Is my son in the store?" "Goat" repeated.

"What? I can't hear or see clearly..."

"Grandma Stella, Joe's father is here and asking where Joe is!"

Lindsay saw a girl of about fourteen or fifteen years old approach the old woman and speak loudly, which made the old woman understand the meaning of "goat".

"Where's Joe? Oh, Joe's in the basement. Call him out."

"I didn't even know when my little brother Qiao was in the basement again!" the girl complained, then ran into the inner room.

Linsset looked at the old woman in front of him and estimated her age.

His hair was completely white, his face was full of wrinkles, his figure was short, his eyesight was failing, and his hearing was poor; he was at least eighty years old.

"Goat" walked up to the old woman: "Grandma Stella, I am Joe's father. I've come to see Joe again today and also to buy two bottles of antidote."

"What did you say?"

"Buy the antidote," "Goat" said, raising his voice.

Stella slowly raised her hand and pointed to the leftmost shelf.

"Pay the money, then take it yourself."

The middle-aged adventurer then turned to Lindsay: "Captain, this antidote costs 2 silver coins a bottle. How about we each take one and pay for it ourselves?"

"Broken Arrow" agreed, while the female wanderer was somewhat reluctant.

"I don't have much money lately, so I won't buy anything."

Lindsay took two silver coins from his purse and handed them to the Goat along with the Broken Arrow.

Two silver coins are a bit pricey, but since it's something needed for an adventure, it's still necessary to prepare.

A moment later, Linsel received his own bottle of antidote. The container looked like a test tube he had seen in his previous life, with a small stopper at the top and a green liquid inside.

"Goat" explained to Lindsay, "This is the most common antidote. Its effect is limited, but it's enough for this mission."

At that moment, the girl led a boy named Joe out of the inner room.

"Dad, why are you here again today!"

Linsel looked at the eleven or twelve-year-old child with half-elf blood, dark brown hair, fair skin, pointed ears, and green pupils. He looked quite different from the chestnut-haired human girl next to him.

"Goat" walked up to his son and patted his head: "Joe, learn alchemy well from Grandma Stella and become an excellent alchemist in the future."

"There are so many people here, Dad, don't pat my head anymore! But I'll definitely work hard on my studies!"

Qiao was overjoyed, then turned and ran back into the inner room.

"With Joe's dedication to learning, he'll definitely become a great alchemist," the girl praised.

She then added, "Adventurers, welcome to Ryza's Alchemy Shop. What would you like to buy?"

"Ryza's Alchemy Shop? Is your name Ryza?" Lindsay asked.

"Yes, I am Lysa. Grandma Stella is my great-grandmother, and she named this alchemy shop after me."

"Goat" put the antidote into a small bag: "It's nothing. I just bought the antidote, three bottles. The silver coins are on the counter, you can count them."

Claire stared at the girl named Lysa and casually said, "Give me an appraisal scroll."

"Okay, I'll pay with 50 copper coins."

"I don't have any copper coins on me, and it's inconvenient to carry them around, so I'll just buy two."

How to identify a reel?

Lindsay looked at the appraisal scroll in Claire's hand, which was decorated with a circle of magic circles and text.

In the original body's memories, appraisal was specifically used to confirm the characteristics, magical effects, and whether an item was cursed.

Claire noticed Lindsay looking at her: "What, Lindsay, do you want one too?"

"I'll have two too... By the way, does the alchemy shop sell potions of life?"

Linsel tried asking around, as he remembered the life potion was a rare item, and he wanted to confirm whether the alchemy shop in Linchui Town would sell it.

"Broken Arrow" answered first: "It's for sale, Captain, but the starting price is gold coins. Ordinary adventurers don't have such good stuff."

"Look, I didn't even think of this authentication scroll either." "Goat" slapped his forehead.

"I'll buy one too, so I can appraise the chainmail I got before."

……

The four of them left the north gate of Linchui Town. Lin Sai had "Goat" hire a carriage, and the four of them rode in the carriage toward the cemetery.

On the carriage, "Broken Arrow" stroked his blue hair, then suddenly realized something: "We just finished fighting zombies in the cemetery yesterday, and they're here again today. It's obvious that this ghoul is related to those zombies from yesterday!"

The middle-aged adventurer was speechless: "Broken Arrow, your brain seems to be working and not working, isn't that obvious? Those ghouls that come to the graveyard are definitely going to devour the flesh of the zombies."

We're early today. These little ghouls won't evolve unless they consume enough flesh and blood. From the time we discovered them until we arrived, not much time has passed. We can wipe them all out at the graveyard!

Claire pulled a small green bottle from her pocket, which looked somewhat like an antidote, and then applied some of the liquid inside to the dagger.

Lindsay asked curiously, "Claire, are you applying poison? Where did this poison come from?"

"I bought it. The alchemy shop also sells this stuff, but it's quite expensive."

Linsel also checked his crossbow. There was nothing wrong with it. The three bolts loaded on the crossbow were ready. The trigger was on his finger, and he could fire it with just a light squeeze.

Everything is ready, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, this mission should be a sure thing.

A dozen minutes later, the carriage stopped near the spot where it had stopped last time.

The four got off the carriage. "Goat" gave the driver a few copper coins and instructed him, "Let's go to the cemetery first to see if there are any monsters. If there are, you wait here and take us back. I'll pay you extra for the ride."

The driver naturally wouldn't refuse.

The four of them walked the remaining few hundred meters.

The team slowly approached the cemetery. Looking into the distance, Lin Sai saw several hunched gray figures inside the cemetery.

As he walked a few dozen meters closer, he could see clearly that they were the shapes of small ghouls, about ten of them.

"They don't seem to have noticed us yet."

"This is what I'm good at," Claire gestured to Lindsay. "I'll go check it out first, you guys follow."

"Goat" advised from the side, "No need, 'Phantom,' it's safest for you to travel with us."

"Don't worry, I'm a professional at least. Watch me."

She lowered her body and started jogging quickly, without making a sound.

Lindsay watched as the female wanderer entered the cemetery first, then felt his attention wander for a few seconds before he could no longer see Claire.

Is this the combat technique of reducing attention and lying in wait? It can also interfere with one's own observation ability.

"Broken Arrow" placed his hand on the bowstring, and "Goat" untied the sling from his back.

Linsset also placed his right hand on his left arm, ready to fire.

The three were less than 200 meters away from the cemetery.

Suddenly, he heard some strange sounds, a low growl mixed with a cry of surprise.

Claire has been discovered?
