Chapter 61 Encirclement of the Trolls

"Phantom" and "Broken Arrow" had just arrived from the street on the right.

"What's going on? They've broken in?"

"Goat! I'm here to save you!"

Linsset jumped over the scattered pile of wood on the ground and rushed to the "goat's" side.

["Goat", Human, Level 2 Warrior, Health: 11/80, Armor: 51/80 (Studded Leather), Both legs missing, bleeding, in pain and shock]

He hurriedly pulled out two rolls of bandages from his person and threw them in front of his two teammates who had already arrived at the middle-aged adventurer's side.

"Claire, hold his leg down. Brinnan, you apply a bandage to stop the bleeding!"

"Ah! It's broken like this..."

Claire's face turned pale. She quickly extinguished the remaining flames on the "goat" and did as Lindsay had instructed. The "broken arrow" pressed firmly against the middle-aged adventurer's remaining thigh to reduce his bleeding.

"You guys stay here and take care of Uncle 'Goat,' I'm going to deal with that troll with the Silver-ranked adventurers."

Linsel gripped Brand's sword tightly in both hands and ran towards the north of Linxi Village.

Linsel passed through the area crushed by the boulder, where there were large clumps of blood on the ground, and several sticky, somewhat disgusting bits of flesh stuck together.

The stench of blood assaulted his nostrils, and the mournful cries of many people echoed from the vicinity, but Lindsay ignored them all, his attention focused entirely on the monstrous enemy to the north.

The troll reappeared outside the wooden fence, carrying a huge rock!

"Aside from the Twilight Forest, the area around Linxi Village is all grassland. Where did this troll get so many huge rocks?"

Judith had been freed from the vines and caught up with her dwarf companions, the robed mage, and Wood, the Ironfang captain leading the charge, as they headed north together.

"I don't understand! The enemy is resorting to such underhanded tactics, using vines to control our movements! It must be that high priest's doing!"

The dwarf was slower and fell slightly behind Judith, while the robed mage shouted a reminder.

"Trolls have the ability to regenerate their bodies. To stop their body parts from regenerating, you must use fire and acid!"

Lindsay caught this information.

Fire and acid? I don't have acid, but my own fire arrows must be the key to dealing with the trolls.

Wood remained remarkably calm at this moment.

"Linsey, the 'Wolf Slayer,' it seems those rumors were false; you didn't escape."

"I didn't run away," Lindsay said, moving closer to Wood. "On the contrary, we must kill that troll as soon as possible; we can't let any more people get hurt!"

He glanced back again, and there stood Sheriff Will, trapped in a burning, dilapidated wooden hut, with a guard using an iron sword to cut away the green tendrils clinging to him.

The other guards, militiamen, and adventurers who were not crushed by the boulder were also cutting through the vines to rescue the other trapped people.

It seems that these militia guards and ordinary Iron and Bronze-level adventurers are no match for the trolls.

The four members of the Silver-ranked team, 【Iron Fang】, had overtaken him and were now running ahead, heading towards the gap in the wooden fence to the north that had been breached by the trolls.

Linsset followed closely behind, loading bolts into his crossbow as he ran.

Flame arrows have a limited number of uses, and this crossbow can only deal negligible damage to giant enemies, but it is still one of my only two ranged attack methods, so it is still somewhat useful.

Captain Wood shouted, "Watch out! Spread out! The trolls are about to hurl their boulders at us again!"

The five were less than fifty meters from the gap in the wooden fence to the north when, just as Captain Iron Fang had predicted, the troll made a motion to throw a boulder.

The robed mage took out a strangely shaped fruit from his person and ate it. Then, he ran while waving his wooden staff.

"[Accelerate with your feet!]!"

He cast support spells, targeting the four people besides the dwarf four times in succession.

Lin Se suddenly felt his body become very light, as if something was pushing him forward from behind.

Is this what [foot acceleration] feels like? It's fantastic!

He aimed at the troll's head and fired three bolts in quick succession, hitting the troll squarely in the face.

At the same time, the troll threw the boulder in its hands, and the boulder flew from the front!

The adventurers of the [Iron Fang] party dodged to the left, while Linssey dodged to the right.

Thanks to the spell that increases movement speed, when the boulder crashed into the middle, no one was there anymore; there was only a loud bang that shook the ground.

The troll retreated outside the wooden fence, wiping the crossbow bolts off its gray-blue skin with one hand. Seeing the five people easily dodge the boulder, it became extremely angry.

"Ugh!!!"

"Trolls are much harder to deal with than ogres. I'll go in and engage them first. Rolf, you and 'Wolf Slayer' fire fire arrows as soon as I make a cut!"

Lindsay and the robed mage named Rolf nodded in understanding, and Wood, wielding a two-handed sword, rushed out through the gap in the wooden fence.

The towering troll before them swung its fist toward the two-handed sword warrior.

He jumped to the side and rolled to avoid it.

The troll slammed its left fist into the ground, and then Wood's two-handed sword slashed down from above, cutting into the troll's left arm.

"Awooo..."

The troll roared in pain. Wood drew his two-handed sword, the weapon flashing slightly as he gathered his strength before bringing it down heavily again.

This strike severed the troll's left arm.

"Quickly, use fire!"

Linsel raised his left hand, preparing to conjure a fire arrow, when the robed mage Rolf's fire magic appeared in front of his staff and was quickly unleashed, igniting the broken end of his left arm.

The wooden staff allows for very fast spellcasting.

The troll growled and swung his other fist at Wood.

Wood was about to dodge when suddenly, vines sprouted from the soil beneath his feet and wrapped around his legs.

His movements were restricted, but at that moment, the dwarf "Ink" suddenly appeared in front of him, thrusting his giant shield forward.

The troll's fist struck the massive iron shield, the impact causing the dwarf's legs to slam into the mud, but he managed to block it.

Vines sprouted from beneath Linsel's feet, but having learned from his previous experience, he was more cautious this time, and also had the support of a mage's auxiliary magic.

As the green, entwined plants emerged, he took a large step to one side, swung his long-handled iron sword with both hands, and severed the vines.

Judith and the robed mage also managed to dodge the vines, and together with Lindsay, they surrounded the troll.

The female ranger fired her shortbow rapidly, piercing the troll's back; the mage unleashed another fire arrow, exploding above the enemy's head; the dwarf raised his shield to his feet and slammed his iron hammer into the troll's thick leg.

[Troll, Monster, Health 410/600, Armor: 0]

Lindsay and Wood simultaneously used their two-handed swords from both sides, continuously inflicting more wounds on the troll.
