Chapter 88 Deer Antler and Mushroom Soup

Lindsay followed the guards back into Wind and City.

He, along with "Broken Arrow," "Iron Spear," and Karina, returned to the Adventurers' Guild.

"The mission is complete. Here are 27 silver coins."

Lindsay and his two companions each received a purse containing silver coins from the staff member and the halfling girl. Then he saw the halfling girl smile and thank them.

"Adventurers, thank you for your contribution to the security of Wind and City!"

Lindsay felt slightly uncomfortable with this politeness.

"Broken Arrow" replied, "No need to thank me, this is all normal, no need to be so polite."

"Actually, this gratitude is necessary," the female knight added from the side. "In recent months, with the increasing number of refugees in the surrounding area, the security situation in Wind and City has become increasingly difficult to maintain."

With the increase in bandits and the recent emergence of harmful cults, missions have become extremely dangerous. It's only natural to express gratitude for the help you adventurers have provided.

Linsel seemed to hear the roar of the "Beast-Blooded Daughter" in his ears. He shook his head, trying to stop thinking about these negative things.

Karina paused for a moment, realizing that it was still inconvenient to talk while wearing a helmet, so she took off her face shield helmet.

She continued, "Iron Spear, if the three of you want to handle any more quests related to cult members in the next few days, you can mention my name to the guild when you accept them."

I'm currently in charge of security in this area, and I have a feeling that those cult members might be up to something big in the next few days.

"What is it?" "Iron Spear" asked hurriedly. "If the quest rewards are generous and match the adventurer's level, I'd be very happy to continue taking on quests!"

"Today you and the guards have destroyed the two remaining cult strongholds inside and outside Wind and City. I imagine those cultists won't just sit idly by."

Their leader is expected to appear soon, but there's no need to worry too much; the enemy isn't particularly strong.

It seems that the Wind and City Guards have done a good job with their intelligence work, at least more confidentially and accurately than when they were besieging the Vulture Gang bandit camp in Linchui Town.

Lindsay also felt that they could continue to deal with these cultists, and it would be even better if new monsters like the Flesh Golem appeared.

He touched his nose and asked Karina for information.

"Sir Knight, could you reveal some information about the cult leader, or perhaps if there are any troublesome monsters or anything among those cult members?"

"Since you asked, it's not a secret. I was planning to tell you when the next operation starts, but it's okay to tell you now."

She tossed her light blonde hair: "That cult leader, according to the description given by our spies when they found her outside the city, was a burly woman, and her weapon seemed to be a dagger."

He was also a very fanatical madman, and was even bleeding himself out at the time. As for the troublesome monsters, besides the fleshy monsters we encountered this morning, there should be another, even more powerful one, also a fleshy monster.

However, I don't know much more than that. This is what the master's butler told me. Don't worry, if the monster becomes too powerful, the quest level will be upgraded, and stronger adventurers will come to take on the quest.

"Broken Arrow" became interested: "Stronger adventurers, do you mean Silver-level or even Gold-level adventurers?"

"Yes, at least Silver level. You are currently Bronze level adventurers. If the mission is upgraded, we will not recommend that you continue to do this mission."

Could the subsequent cultist quests be upgraded? According to the female knight, if they are indeed upgraded and exceed her adventurer level, then she would indeed have to be cautious and reassess her strength.

Linsel has been traveling to the present day for more than two months. Overall, he has been quite cautious in his adventures. Therefore, apart from some dangers when he first arrived, he has basically prepared backup plans for all other situations.

"I have official business to attend to, so I'll be leaving now." The female knight bid farewell to Lindsay and the other two without hesitation.

"Wolf Slayer, Broken Arrow, how about you two come grab a drink at the nearby tavern?"

It was already noon, and Lindsay and "Broken Arrow" naturally did not refuse the invitation from their somewhat familiar temporary teammate "Iron Spear".

They left the guild and went into the Forest Friends Tavern.

The three of them found a spot where some citizens were leaving and sat down.

"Broken Arrow" ordered three large cups of ale from the proprietress: "'Iron Spear,' are you an adventurer from Wind and City? You seem quite familiar with Wind and City."

"No, I've only been in this city for a while; I wasn't born and raised in Wind and City."

"Iron Spear" took a big gulp of ale: "I come from the desert further south, of course my hometown isn't there..."

"Boss lady, do you have any new dishes to recommend?" Lin Sai shouted.

The blonde, wavy-haired female owner was clearing away the wooden bowls and tableware left behind by several customers when she replied, "Yes, for example, I recommend this new dish, forest deer kidney soup. I guarantee it's delicious and addictive!"

"We've already had this dish. Are there any others?"

"Let me think... Yes, I have deer antler and mushroom soup from the forest area, 2 silver coins. How many servings would you like?"

Lindsay glanced at Brinnan and "Iron Lance," who were drinking ale and chatting about trivial matters that he wasn't particularly interested in.

The two nodded after hearing this.

"Broken Arrow": "Captain, good food is always welcome, especially since we just received a good reward. Serve the dishes and soup right away!"

"Then three servings, please."

Even though these dishes are expensive, they don't matter to me since I already have 27 silver coins.

At this moment, some citizens and diners in the vicinity started discussing among themselves when they saw Lin Sai and his two companions ordering food in this manner.

"How extravagant! These high-ranking adventurers always eat this kind of top-notch food whenever they come to the tavern!"

"What high-level adventurers? Look closely, two of them are only bronze-level. They're already this rich? It seems the adventurer profession is still extremely profitable..."

"Eating so well, maybe I should quit my temporary job and start an adventure career instead."

Soon the food was served, and Lin Sai couldn't help but drool as he smelled the unique aroma emanating from the large bowl of forest deer antler and mushroom soup.

"You guys are too extravagant." The silver-level adventurer "Iron Spear" picked up a wooden spoon and scooped up a mouthful of soup.

"Broken Arrow, brother, I just heard you refer to Wolf Slayer as the captain. Are you two in the same squad?"

"Yes, so, do you have a team? Want to join us?"
