Chapter 90 Acquaintances

The title page reads: This guide was written by the great explorer, biographer, and diamond-level adventurer Persis Carl, and is dedicated to aspiring adventurers who are just beginning their journeys.

Written by a diamond-level adventurer? It doesn't feel real, but this Persis seems quite narcissistic.

Lindsay continued reading.

.........

Goblins form their own faction? That's interesting.

Lindsay flipped through it quickly and found that, as "Iron Lance" had said, the booklet was indeed prepared for novice adventurers. It listed common, low-threat monsters, many of which he had seen before, such as giant rats and dire wolves...

There were also some creatures Linssey had never seen before: Yetis, werewolves, rust monsters…

However, regarding the Goblin High Priest, who is currently of greatest interest to him, only one sentence was recorded:

If you encounter this, please run away as fast as you can!

"Broken Arrow" snatched the booklet: "I see it! There are kobolds in it! These guys used to rob caravans. Let me take a closer look..."

"Nabrinan, you will be temporarily in charge of keeping this 'Adventurer's Monster Compendium'."

Lindsay walked to the task list and casually glanced at the few remaining tasks.

He wasn't particularly interested in the Iron-level herbalism quests and escort missions, so he asked the guild members where the training camp in Wind and City was.

Upon learning that the guild tavern in Linchui Town was similarly laid out behind the Adventurers' Guild, Linsel and "Broken Arrow" left the guild together to take a look around the training camp.

After going around the alley, he saw a large open space and several wooden houses behind the guild building, also surrounded by wooden fences.

Linssey and "Broken Arrow" pushed open the gate and entered the camp. The layout inside was the same as the training camp in Linchui Town, only the space was larger.

He saw an old man in a guild uniform resting on a deck chair in the shade.

Although it is autumn, the sun is shining brightly, and apart from a young male and female adventurer not far away, no one else is training in the training camp.

Lin Sai walked straight into the pavilion and came to the side of the rather thin old man who looked to be in his sixties.

"You must be a training camp instructor. We're adventurers who just arrived in Wind and City, and we'd like to ask what weapons they teach here?"

The old man had his eyes closed, but slowly opened them after listening to Linsset's words.

He glanced at the bronze adventurer's badge on Lindsay's chest, sat up, and said, "I can teach you all the popular weapons among adventurers, and I can train you to the proficient level, as long as you can afford the tuition."

Proficient level? Linsel's interest was immediately piqued when he thought about how his current weapon specializations were still at the basic level.

"For example, if I want to take a spear lesson and practice until I reach the proficiency level, how much would the tuition be?"

The old man held up three fingers.

"Three silver coins?"

"No, it's 30 silver coins."

It's 30 silver coins? That's really expensive compared to the tuition I paid when I studied with Instructor Rhodes in Linchui Town!

Seeing Linssey's stunned expression, the old instructor added, "It would take an ordinary person several years to learn from the basic level to the advanced level on their own. But if you spend some silver coins to learn systematically here, you can usually master it in just a few months."

"Broken Arrow" was also somewhat tempted: "Then, Instructor, I'd like to take a course on daggers to reach the proficient level. Is the tuition the same?"

"Yes, but I won't be teaching for the next couple of days."

Why?

Faced with the question of the "broken arrow," the old instructor pointed to the blurry city wall that Feng Yucheng could see in the distance.

"The refugees outside the city have been giving me a headache lately, and some cultists have also popped up, so I'll stop teaching them for now and wait until the higher-ups in Wind and City have dealt with all of this."

"Alright." "Broken Arrow" was quite disappointed.

"If you don't have anything else to do, you can leave now. It's lunch break, don't disturb my sleep." The old instructor said, then lay down again and closed his eyes.

Although the tuition is relatively expensive, it's not impossible to quickly improve your skill level.

After learning the basic situation, Lindsay and his companion planned to leave the camp. However, just as Lindsay was about to step out of the gate, he saw two adventurers walking towards him from a distance. They were getting closer and closer, and they looked very familiar.

Lindsay carefully recalled the two people in his mind. Oh, it was Eric and his sister!

"Hi, Lindsay!"

As the other person approached, they recognized Lindsay and immediately ran over.

"Long time no see, Lindsay! You've come to Wind and City too?"

Camilla was the one who greeted Lindsay; her chestnut hair looked a little messy, and she was covered in sweat.

"Who are these two Iron-rank adventurers...?"

"Oh, Brinnan, these are my friends from before, Eric and Camilla, you can get to know them."

"Brother Lindsay, it's been over two months since we last met, and you've already become a Bronze-level adventurer! That's impressive!"

And judging from your attire, you're a "Wolf Slayer," right?

"How do you know my title?" Lindsay asked, somewhat surprised.

"What's there to not know? We're all adventurers from Linchui Town, so it's normal for us to keep an eye on the situation of adventurers back home."

Eric slung his shortbow back over his shoulder: "Every adventurer in Forestfall Town knows that the 'Wolf Slayer' and the 'Iron Fang' Silver-ranked team defended Forest Creek Village against the Goblin High Priest's attack. Linse, you're truly amazing!"

"Captain, your reputation is really starting to spread! Hopefully, our team's reputation will gradually grow too!"

"A squad? Is it a formal squad?" Camilla asked curiously after hearing what "Broken Arrow" said.

"Yes, I'll tell you more about what happened later... Are you training hard at the camp right now? You don't even take a break at noon, you're working so hard."

"Yes, we came here specifically after our experience last time and enrolled in Instructor Thoth's archery course. We're working hard to learn archery now."

Eric spoke at length, very excited.

"Have you been on any missions recently?"

"I did take on a few simple missions to make a living, but I spent most of my time training."

"That's good. We can practice together sometime, but we have to go now."

Eric panicked upon hearing this: "Wait a minute, where are you going? If you're just looking around Wind and City, I can show you around."

……

As dusk fell, the two returned to the Forest Friends Tavern.

After leaving the training camp, Lindsay spent the afternoon repairing his wolfskin armor and visiting the equipment shop and the alchemy shop.

Guided by Eric and his sister, they saved a lot of time, and even got a discount at the tailor shop because the tailor knew the owner.
