Chapter 114 Oda's Attack

"Hello, Uncle." Su Liu turned on his phone and placed it on the stand. The car followed the signs into the underground parking garage.

"I know, I'm already at the train station, don't worry."

"Okay, okay, I'll definitely come visit again when I have time."

He circled the underground parking garage, looking for an empty space. It was the May Day holiday, and the garage was packed to the brim, with hardly a crack in the ground.

Then another phone call came in.

"Susu, I'm here!" A cacophony of voices came from Chen Duling's end. "So many people! It's crushing me!"

"Wait a minute, let me see..." Su Liu's eyes lit up. A private car had just moved out of its parking space, so he quickly parked there and glanced at the white graffiti on the concrete pillar. "Come down to the underground parking garage from Exit 1 or Exit 2."

"South 1... Okay, I'm here."

Su Liu got out of the car and waited in the passageway.

After a while, a girl with a ponytail walked out of the elevator. She was wearing a loose red striped shirt and a pair of wide navy blue shorts, which made her stand out in the drab underground parking garage.

"Here." Su Liu waved his hand and then jogged over.

Chen Duling turned her head at the sound, her eyes lit up, and before she could even fully grin, she had already trotted over like a nimble swallow.

"There are too many people!" she complained as soon as she stopped, carrying a large backpack.

"It's May Day."

Su Liu casually took the bag off her shoulder, and immediately felt its weight. He couldn't help but ask, "Damn, did you stuff lead weights in your bag? It's so heavy."

"You wouldn't understand girls' things even if I explained them to you."

They walked side by side to the back of the car. Su Liu carried her bag, while Chen Du swung her arms beside her, empty-handed. At the back, Su Liu opened the trunk and put her backpack inside.

"Where are your sister and the others?" Chen Duling asked. "Haven't they arrived yet?"

"Soon, right?" Su Liu glanced at the time; it was just past nine in the morning.

A D-series high-speed train slowly glided into the platform. Tian Xiwei and Zai Xiaoqing, one in front of the other, picked up their bags and pushed open the thick sliding door of the soft sleeper compartment.

"Xiao Qing, I almost don't want to leave." Tian Xiwei turned around and glanced back.

This deluxe sleeper compartment is a double room, furnished with a sofa, wardrobe, and television. The high-speed train journey from Chongqing to Shanghai takes thirteen hours, and Su Liu directly purchased this compartment for them.

We set off from Chongqing at 7 p.m. last night. The two of us slept comfortably inside and woke up in Shanghai.

"Oh? You want to live on the train from now on?"

"It's not that it's impossible."

Ran Xiaoqing slowly held up two fingers and waved them in front of her. "Tickets for this private room cost two thousand yuan each."

"Forget it then," Tian Xiwei said, her shoulders trembling. "I can't afford it, I can't afford it."

The two walked through the narrow passageway, taking one step and stopping every now and then, swaying back and forth as they were jostled by the crowd. One person, holding a large suitcase high, forcefully carved a path through the crowd, which drew a series of grumbling "tsk tsk" sounds.

"Weiwei." As the strongman passed by, Zai Xiaoqing suddenly turned her head and asked earnestly, "Could you lift me up and run away?"

"Huh?" Tian Xiwei twisted her ankle, almost getting jostled, and her face instantly contorted into an utterly absurd expression. "Do you think I'm a monster?!"

"I always felt you could do it."

"You have so much faith in me, I don't know what to do."

The two were pushed forward a step by the crowd behind them, their hands gripping the bag straps tightly, as if afraid of being scratched by someone next to them.

"Has your brother come to pick us up yet?"

He said it was in the underground parking garage and told us to follow the signs down the elevator.

"Oh," Tian Xiwei responded, tilting her head to look out the window as if searching for a sign.

The crowd was like a tube of toothpaste being squeezed out with great effort; Xiao Qing and Tian Xiwei finally managed to be spat out onto the platform through the narrow door.

The two first asked the train conductor for directions, and then walked along the platform in the direction of "Arrival/Exit". Following the signs, they went through the south exit passage and soon went down the escalator to the underground level.

Once they found the sign for South Exit 1, there was a blue sign for Parking Lot P9 right next to it.

Tian Xiwei wiped her forehead, took out her phone, and dialed Su Liu's number.

"Hey! Su Liu, we've arrived. We're here at this sign for parking lot P9."

"Then keep walking in. After you pass the service desk and convenience store, you'll see the parking lot entrance. I'll wait for you here."

"Okay, we're here." Tian Xiwei put away her phone and nodded to Zai Xiaoqing.

The two of them craned their necks, saying "This way, this way," and followed the signs to the private passage to finally enter the P9 garage.

"Wait a minute!" Tian Xiwei suddenly tugged at Ran Xiaoqing's arm and stopped in her tracks.

"What's wrong?" Ran Xiaoqing asked, looking completely bewildered.

The parking lot echoed with the sounds of cars roaring and pedestrians clamoring. Tian Xiwei raised her hand and pointed to a large pillar painted white not far away.

"Is that your brother?"

Su Liu and Chen Duling were standing side by side. The girl was slender and agile, and the two of them were chatting about something, both with smiles on their lips.

Against a backdrop of gray, concrete and steel, the two people were surrounded by pink bubbles, seemingly completely indifferent to the lives of others.

"Huh? Yeah."

Who is that girl?

"This...I don't know."

"Your brother...has a girlfriend?" Tian Xiwei asked cautiously, lowering her voice.

"I didn't hear him say that," Ran Xiaoqing said calmly, staring intently at the two figures chatting and laughing. She rested her chin on her hand with a serious expression. "But it's not surprising that he has a girlfriend, is it?"

"Hmm..."

'

Tian Xiwei uttered a muffled syllable as the cold wind from the underground parking garage blew in through the passageway, making the back of her neck feel chilly.

It's hard to describe that feeling. It's like a piece of candy that you've finally warmed up in your pocket, but before you can even open it, someone else peels off the wrapper.

"Let's go," Ran Xiaoqing said.

"oh."

Su Liu was listening to Chen Duling vividly recount the interesting things that happened at school when he caught a glimpse of two girls walking towards them out of the corner of his eye.

He immediately turned around and called out to them, "Hey, you're here."

"Brother." Ran Xiaoqing ran forward in two steps.

Tian Xiwei deliberately dawdled, falling half a step behind, her eyes quickly scanning back and forth between Su Liu and Chen Duling beside her.

"Hey, Tian Xiwei." Su Liu looked at her slow, deliberate manner and smiled as he sized her up. "What's wrong? Not happy on vacation?"

"I didn't!" Upon hearing this, Tian Xiwei suddenly puffed out her chest, pouted, and looked like she wouldn't admit defeat to anyone.

Chen Duling, who was standing next to Xiao Qing, was pursing her lips and moved closer to her with very light steps. She held the hem of her shirt with both hands and spoke softly, "You're Xiao Qing? My name is Chen Duling, you can just call me Dudu."

"Ah." Ran Xiaoqing was taken aback, rubbed her hands together nervously at her sides, and responded, "Du...Dudu sister."

Both of them are extremely socially awkward, it must have been tough on them.

Seeing this awkward scene, Su Liu casually took the bag from Tian Xiwei's shoulder. He pulled her forward half a step and introduced her to Chen Duling, "This is Tian Xiwei, Xiao Qing's good friend."

"Ah," Chen Duling said softly, looking at her bright, sparkling eyes, "Your eyes... are so beautiful, so cute."

Chen Duling has a special quality: when she speaks, it always seems as if every word has been carefully considered.

Even when she's just casually praising someone, her focused expression makes it seem like she's stating an undeniable fact in an extremely serious and objective manner.

And so, Tian Xiwei was instantly captivated.

"Sister Dudu, you're so pretty too." She smiled, revealing a dimple.

"Alright, get in the car," Su Liu said.

Tian Xiwei and Ran Xiaoqing sat in the back seat, while Chen Duling sat in the passenger seat. The car roared and drove out along the winding ramp of the underground parking garage.
