The Black Bloodline of Hogwarts

Chapter 26 Opening Ceremony

The branch campus continues.

"Susan Burns!"

"Hufflepuff!"

……

When it was Hermione's turn, Julien saw her practically run up, and after sitting down, she was so nervous she was stiff. The Sorting Hat shook its head on her head for a while before loudly announcing:

"Gryffindor!"

Hermione breathed a sigh of relief, a bright smile spreading across her face. She ran towards the Gryffindor table, glancing back to look for Julien. When their eyes met, Julien gave her a thumbs-up.

"Lyria!"

Over her school uniform robe, Liria wore a tattered linen cloak, making her stand out from the other students in the hall with her distinctive attire.

The Sorting Hat shouted loudly as soon as it touched Lyria's hair.

"Hufflepuff!"

Julien thought to himself, "Luckily she went to the friendly Hufflepuff. If she had gone to another house, she probably wouldn't have been able to get along with the others."

Lyria walked toward the Hufflepuff table, her figure still aloof, but her steps seemed lighter.

"Elizabeth Rozier!"

Unsurprisingly, Rosier's name once again sparked whispers among the young wizards and teachers. Forty or fifty years ago, the Rosier surname would have been very famous in Europe; they were loyal followers of Grindelwald, the first Dark Lord.

What's Rozier doing at Hogwarts? Aren't they at odds with Dumbledore?

Ignoring the surrounding noise, Rozier slowly walked forward, his posture elegant and his eyes calm.

The Sorting Hat remained silent on her head for a long time, so long that whispers began to circulate around the Slytherin table. Finally, it announced: "Slytherin!"

Rozier nodded slightly and walked towards the Slytherin table, his back straight, without the slightest hesitation, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. The Slytherin responded with their loudest applause yet.

Julien was also staring at Elizabeth's figure until she sat down and his gaze briefly met Rozier's. A complex emotion flashed in Rozier's eyes before he lowered them.

The subsequent sorting of houses went smoothly; Harry, Ron, and Neville all went to Gryffindor. Malfoy and his lackeys went to Slytherin.

Of course, Harry Potter's Sorting House received the loudest applause and cheers.

After the Sorting Ceremony, Dumbledore seemed quite satisfied with the results. He stood up, opened his arms, and declared, "Let's begin the feast!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the empty plates were instantly filled with food. Even though he had been exposed to the cuisine of the great Eastern country in his previous life, Julien still had to admit that the Hogwarts opening banquet was a rather good buffet.

Of course, the opening banquet is not just a meal; it's also an important occasion for young wizards to get to know each other and exchange ideas. Especially for pure-blooded young wizards, it's a place to exchange information and intelligence.

Just as Ron switched from dual-wielding chicken legs to Berserk, the basic information about several key unfamiliar young wizards had already spread across the long tables in the school.

"Tch, I thought it was someone important, turns out it's just some mud related to the Evans family..." Malfoy glanced disdainfully at Julien at the next table.

"Malfoy!" Gemma Farley interrupted him on the last word. "Watch your words in public. You can't say that word out loud, even if you think it, especially not if the Dean hears it!"

Malfoy nodded somewhat awkwardly: "Okay, I'll be careful."

Rozier glanced thoughtfully at Gemma, who, being new to the place, was also testing the limits and boundaries of Hogwarts.

Marcus, who clearly knew Malfoy before, switched places with Goyle and sat next to Malfoy, patting him on the shoulder. "It's alright, Draco! Gemma meant well. By the way, how's Uncle Malfoy doing? Last time he mentioned you like Quidditch..."

……

"Of course, I'll practice with you. Let's see how good you are at flying."

……

"Really? That's great! So our school's Quidditch equipment isn't as good as yours, which might hinder your performance."

……

"Of course, first-year wizards can't bring flying brooms to school; school rules must be followed! But Slytherin's equipment really does need an update, as you said."

……

"You're right, but the dean also has his difficulties."

……

"That would be best. I will try to get the dean's approval. Thank you in advance, Uncle Malfoy."

No wonder this seemingly rude gorilla became a Slytherin prefect; compared to him, Draco is still just a child who only knows how to throw tantrums. - Elizabeth Rozier

"Hi! Elizabeth, may I call you Elizabeth?" Just as Rozier was observing the situation at the long table, a friendly greeting came to her ears.

Rozier turned her head and noticed that Gemma had also sat down to her left.

Rozier stopped eating, put down her cutlery, and nodded gracefully in return. "Of course, that's what my friends call me." Rozier emphasized the word "friends."

……

"Hello, Liria! Is your name Liria?"

A tall, handsome young man appeared in front of Liria; it was the same handsome young man she had seen on the platform from the train.

"My name is Cedric Diggory. Welcome to Hufflepuff. I'm sure you won't regret your choice."

"Hello, I'm from northern Norway. My official name is Liria Sigurddóttir. But we usually just call each other by our first names. Sigurd is my father's name, and dóttir means daughter."

"Okay, Liria. Welcome again. Let me tell you a secret: see if there's anything else you want to eat on this table? I'll go to the kitchen and get it for you. That's one of the advantages of being a Hufflepuff. Haha."

"Thank you." Liria had a very good impression of this enthusiastic prefect. Of course, if it were someone like Marcus, his appearance would probably only elicit resentment.

"By the way, it seems like your place is closer to Durmstrang," Cedric said casually.

"Hmph, I'm not going to that dark wizard's lair." Liria's reaction seemed a bit too strong, exceeding Cedric's expectations. "Our tribe has an agreement with Headmaster Dumbledore."

"That's right, Hogwarts is the best magic school in all of Europe. Let me introduce you to the other students..." Cedric seemed to understand something and nodded secretly.

……

The number of young wizards arriving in Gryffindor this year is considerable, comparable to the large population of Hufflepuff.

Ron: "Lucky!"

Just as Ron picked up the last chicken leg, all the food on the table vanished. Then dessert was served in its place.

Hermione glanced disdainfully at Ron's eating habits, then looked towards Ravenclaw, where Julien was talking animatedly, making the flaxen-haired upperclassman and several girls around him laugh uproariously. She couldn't help but spit inwardly.

During the Sorting Ceremony, she hesitated for a long time between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Just as she decided to go to Ravenclaw, the Sorting Hat called out Gryffindor.

"Percy, who's that guy sitting next to Professor Quirrell?" Harry felt as if he were being stared at with ill intent, and a sharp pain shot through the scar on his forehead.

"Oh, that's Professor Snape, the head of Slytherin."

"He looks like a bat to me," Ron interjected.

Hermione shook her head helplessly again and turned her gaze to another spot.

……

From the teachers' table, Dumbledore, sitting in the center, added another spoonful of sugar to his honey lemonade, muttering to himself, "Triangles are the most stable; I hope this choice was right."
