The Black Bloodline of Hogwarts
Chapter 74 The Serpent Whisperer
As the two left, Julien noticed that Snape's gaze followed him the whole time, his eyes filled with a complex and unreadable expression, as if he saw the shadow of an old friend in Julien.
"Next," Lockhart's voice rang out again, "let's invite two more students. How about Harry Potter? One more..."
While Lockhart's gaze was still lingering among the Hufflepuff crowd, Snape spoke first, "Let me find a suitable opponent for Mr. Potter. Malfoy, you go!"
The two seemed quite satisfied with this showdown, as if they had long wanted to have a fight.
"Harry (Draco) kill him!" The two young wizards on either side cheered each other on.
The showdown between Harry and Malfoy was off from the start.
Malfoy wore that signature, repulsive, arrogant smile as he slowly adjusted his cuffs, as if he were about to embark on a performance rather than a duel.
Although Harry was a little nervous, his hand holding the wand was steady, and his green eyes burned with a determined light.
"Ready, Potter?" Malfoy scoffed. "Don't worry, I won't let you lose too badly—after all, you're the 'Boy Who Lived'."
"Enough talk, Malfoy," Harry said in a deep voice.
"Begin!" Lockhart shouted. "I said I would use the magic I learned normally."
"Expelliarmus!" they both shouted simultaneously. But clearly, Harry Potter, the "Chosen One," possessed the greater magical power.
After the same spells collided, Malfoy was sent flying. This greatly displeased Snape. He grabbed Malfoy by the collar and shoved him forward, "Get him!"
Malfoy seemed to have received some kind of authorization; a sinister grin spread across his face, and with a sudden flick of his wand, a beam of black light shot towards the ground. "The Dragon Emerges!"
"boom!"
The ground cracked open, and a huge black snake darted out of the crack. It looked like a king cobra, its scales gleaming coldly under the magic lamp.
It raised its head, flicked its scarlet tongue, and emitted a chilling hiss.
A scream erupted in the hall. The young wizards in the front row retreated in panic.
Harry was stunned for a moment, unsure of how to react.
"Don't move!" Lockhart's face turned pale. He clearly hadn't expected Malfoy to summon such a dangerous creature. "Let me... uh... Vipera Evanesca (a type of Vanishing Charm)."
He waved his wand haphazardly, flicking the snake up and then slamming it down again.
But this only angered the giant snake. It hissed, raised its neck, and its triangular head swelled to its maximum size.
The black snake ignored Lockhart and slowly turned to Harry, its yellow vertical pupils fixed on the thin boy.
Harry stood there, a sudden, sharp pain shooting through the scar on his forehead. It wasn't fear, but a strange resonance.
He looked at the snake, at its open mouth, and listened to its hissing sound. Suddenly, some languages he had never learned before came to mind.
"Stop..." Harry murmured, but what came out was a hiss... hiss...
That was not human language, but an ancient, cold wailing.
Even more strangely, after hearing the voice, the black snake actually stopped moving forward and turned to the other young wizards nearby.
It was facing Justin Finley of Hufflepuff, and once again raised its head and assumed an attacking stance.
In a moment of panic, Harry yelled at the snake, "Listen, let him go!" However, to the young wizards around him, it still sounded like "hissing...hissing...hissing."
The hissing sound definitely didn't sound like anything good. The auditorium fell into a deathly silence.
Justin Finley was so frightened that his whole body stiffened, as if he had been petrified.
Everyone stared at Harry in horror, including Ron and Hermione.
Hermione covered her mouth, and Ron's face turned deathly pale. Parsleyan—that was Salazar Slytherin's signature, the symbol of the Dark Lord.
"Oh my god..." Lockhart took a few steps back, almost tripping over his own robe.
"Enough." Snape's voice cut through the stagnant air like ice. He strode forward, waved his wand, and chanted, "Finite Incantatem!"
The black snake instantly turned into a wisp of black smoke and disappeared.
His gaze lingered on Harry's face for a second, a face filled with a complex mix of emotions—shock, disgust, and a barely perceptible hint of...worry.
"Class adjourned," Snape announced coldly. "Everyone, return immediately to your respective house common rooms. Discussion of today's events is forbidden."
A recovered Justin Finley, both angry and terrified, yelled at Harry, "What kind of trick do you think you're playing?"
After shouting those words, he turned and rushed out of the Great Hall, giving Harry Potter no chance to explain.
His Hufflepuff friend glared at Harry Potter before running off after him. This left Harry Potter somewhat bewildered.
"Did you hear that? Potter speaks Parseltongue!"
"So he's the heir to Slytherin!"
"No wonder he was able to deal with the mysterious man; perhaps he was actually an even bigger dark demon."
As Julien and Rozier walked out of the hall with the crowd, he heard whispers coming from all directions.
As they rounded a quiet corner, they saw Harry, Hermione, and Ron huddled together, whispering. The other students passing by kept their distance.
"Harry, why didn't you tell us you were a Parseltongue?" Ron asked.
"What tune?"
"Parsleyan... means being able to talk to snakes." Hermione bit her lip, but still habitually explained.
"I was just trying to persuade the snake not to attack Justin."
"But all we heard was hissing, hissing, and it was really scary, Harry," Ron said.
"I had no idea," Harry said, sounding aggrieved. "I was just talking normally."
"But this ability is a hallmark of Slytherin itself; only the darkest dark wizards possess it..."
Rozier's interruption startled the three of them. They only breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Julien and the others.
Julien patted Hermione on the shoulder: "Hermione, Ron. You have to trust Harry. You know better than anyone what kind of person he is."
"cocoa…"
“Power itself is neither good nor evil,” Julien interrupted her. “The key lies in the heart that uses it. Harry just stopped that snake from hurting someone, didn’t he?”
Hermione paused for a moment, then nodded thoughtfully.
"Thank you, Julien." Harry was very grateful to Julien. Julien was the first person to understand him.
"It's nothing, Harry. I just wanted to ask you, could you speak Parseltongue on your own right now?"
Why would I speak Parseltongue?
"Okay, why don't you give it a try first?"
Harry lowered his head and remained silent for a moment, seemingly wanting to say something, but still didn't. "It should be possible."
"Great! Teach me a few words later, okay?"
"You want to learn Parseltongue too?" Hermione and the others asked in unison. Harry had initially thought Julien understood him, but now it seemed that Julien might just be finding it purely for fun.
"I'm just learning pronunciation, haha. See you later, everyone."
"I mean, why does he seem so happy?" Ron asked, puzzled.
After turning another corner, Rozier pulled him back.
She leaned against the wall, arms crossed, "Tell me honestly, what kind of naughty idea are you plotting now?"
"Guess?"
"You know something, don't you?" Rozier stared directly at Julien, his voice extremely low. "About the secret chamber, the Parsleyan is the key to opening it, isn't it?"
"You can hide anything from me."
"Hmph, you said you were looking for some meteorite. Now that I think about it, isn't the best place to hide treasure a secret chamber? So how do you know it's related to the Snake Man's Voice?"
"Well, we Black family have some secrets. It's said that the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin can only be opened with a Parseltongue. You know, Slytherin are known as Parseltongues."
If Hermione were there, she would have noticed Julien unconsciously touching his nose.
"What about Harry?"
"He is definitely not the heir."

In a women's restroom on the second floor, a short, plump female ghost wearing glasses floated in one of the toilets. She leaned her entire upper body over the edge of the toilet, resting her chin on the cold ceramic rim, watching the ripples created by the falling water with utter boredom.
Suddenly, a black object was thrown into the cubicle, passing through her head and landing beside her; it was a black notebook.
