The Black Bloodline of Hogwarts
Chapter 84 Gilderoy Lockhart
The basilisk raised its head, its massive head, as large as a carriage, casting a huge shadow in the cave. Its yellow, vertical pupils slowly opened—through the protective goggles, its gaze appeared a murky amber, yet it still instinctively made one want to close their eyes and scream.
"Hiss..." The basilisk flicked its tongue and let out a threatening hiss.
Julien quickly shielded the two women behind him, then opened his mouth and hissed in broken Parseltongue, learned from his diary: "Hiss... Hah... Hiss, obey... sleep... we are... the guardians..."
The basilisk paused for a moment. The murderous intent in its vertical pupils seemed to waver for a instant. It tilted its head, sizing up the tiny human who dared to look it in the eye and speak in snake language.
Of course, it didn't understand what the two-legged creature was saying.
Just then, a sinister voice rang out from the shadows beside him, "Blake? You think you can control the basilisk with the few rudimentary snake language I taught you? Don't be delusional."
"Voldemort?" Julien asked, looking at the handsome 16 or 7-year-old boy in front of him.
At this point, Tom's physical form had become semi-materialized. To paraphrase Julien's words from his previous life, most of Ginny's three souls and seven spirits had already arrived at Voldemort's place.
"That's right, I am Voldemort. How could such a lowly name as Tom Riddle be worthy of my noble blood?"
"However," Voldemort turned to Julien, "I can't think of any reason why you would risk coming here."
"We must save Ginny! We will not let your plot to resurrect her succeed," Julien declared righteously.
"Hahaha! That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. Someone who can discuss black magic with me in a notebook, and even wants to learn Parseltongue, is thinking about saving people first? Do you think I'd believe that? You can probably only fool your two girlfriends."
Rozier and Liruya also turned their gazes toward Julien.
Julien gave an awkward smile. "Two? No problem."
"Julien, Julien, Black. We're the same kind of people. What do you want?" Voldemort's figure looked around, still seeing nothing special. "It must be related to that missing piece of my memory."
Just then, the sound of rough footsteps rang out from behind.
"We're here! This is it!" Harry's voice echoed through the cave, followed by Hermione's horrified gasp.
"Merlin's beard..." The two men's words were stuck in their throats. They not only saw that there were people here, but they were also stunned by the basilisk's huge body.
The basilisk abruptly turned its head, its yellow, vertical pupils locking onto the new intruder. It let out a deafening roar, causing the entire cave to tremble and rubble to rain down from the ceiling.
"No! Don't look into its eyes!" Hermione's scream echoed through the stone walls.
Chaos erupted instantly.
The basilisk's body shot out like a green lightning bolt, heading straight for Harry and Hermione.
"Run!" Julien knew the plan had been disrupted. He had intended to steal the meteorite quietly—but now, they had to fight.
"Rozier, attack from the left! Liria, stop the basilisk!" Julien shouted, lunging towards the statue's pedestal. "Arest Mormentum!"
Without hesitation, Rozier raised his staff: "Burning Flames!"
A blazing white flame shot out from the tip of her staff. This was no ordinary fire spell, but a modified "Starfire," which, with its purifying properties, burned towards the basilisk's side.
The basilisk was in pain and let out a hiss. Its huge body twisted and its tail swept in all directions, sending rocks flying.
"Obstacles everywhere!" Liria pressed her hands to the ground, and green vines instantly sprouted from the cracks in the rocks, wrapping around the basilisk's tail.
Her natural magic was exceptionally powerful in this ancient ley line; silvery-white flowers even bloomed on the vines—the "Eternal Night Flower" of the North, which could temporarily paralyze the nerves.
With the basilisk blocked, Harry seized the opportunity to pull Hermione behind a stone pillar. His glasses shattered, but his green eyes burned with fury.
Looking at Ginny lying there in the distance, and at Julien and his two companions fighting, he wished he could do something too.
"Screech!~" A clear whistle rang out.
A flash of fire suddenly appeared in the distance. It came incredibly fast, and as it drew nearer, it was revealed to be a phoenix rising from the ashes. Though not particularly large, its body was engulfed in intense flames, as if it had just escaped from a furnace. It was none other than Dumbledore's Fawkes.
As Fawkes flew over Harry Potter's head, a leather wizard's hat landed on his head—the Sorting Hat. Harry felt its weight and reached down to grasp the hilt of a sword.
He drew it outwards with a flick of his wrist, revealing a longsword a foot and a half long, gleaming with a cold light, its hilt inlaid with rubies.
Taking advantage of the basilisk's tail being entangled by vines, Fox lunged straight at the basilisk's eyes. In the blink of an eye, he had pecked out the basilisk's eyes, and green liquid dripped from the eye sockets, making a "sizzling" sound as it fell to the ground.
By this time, Julien had rushed to the base of the statue. His hand touched the meteorite, and the hawk-headed hound totem seemed to establish a connection with it, emitting a dazzling silver-blue light.
Voldemort, who was observing the battle, glanced at Julian, then at the glowing totem on his wrist and the meteorite emitting a ghostly blue light behind him. Suddenly, as if remembering something, his expression turned ferocious: "No! I understand! You can't touch that! That's my power!"
"I'm sorry," Julien said, holding the fragment of starlight and feeling the ancient power flowing within it, power that had fallen into Falling Star Bay. "This is for sealing, not for you."
"Stop him! Hiss hiss hiss!" Voldemort screamed at the basilisk.
The basilisk paused briefly: Riddle had ordered it to attack Julien, and it was about to turn back when Rozier and Liria's magical attacks tormented it.
Just as the basilisk was looking around, Harry rushed over, holding the gleaming silver sword in his hand, and pierced the basilisk's upper jaw, the sharp tip emerging from the top of its head.
The basilisk collapsed to the ground with a thud, raising a cloud of dust.
"As expected of the chosen one of this world, Harry killed the thousand-year-old basilisk with a single sword strike, almost with his eyes closed," Julien thought to himself.
"No—!" Tom Riddle's, or rather Voldemort's, scream mingled with the Basilisk's final roar.
"Harry, Snake Fang!" Julien shouted.
Harry didn't understand Julien's meaning at first, but without hesitation, he immediately broke off the basilisk's exposed fangs and threw them at Julien.
Yu Lian caught the snake fang and quickly reached Ginny's side, raising the snake fang to stab at the black notebook.
Suddenly, the laptop seemed to come alive, hissing out a dark green liquid and emitting a wisp of blue smoke.
At the same time, Voldemort's 16-year-old form, like a punctured balloon, swayed precariously. "Black, you can open the star..."
Voldemort hadn't finished speaking when he vanished with a final, sinister grin.
When the light faded and the dust settled, Julien knelt on the ground, his face pale, his hands empty; he had already hidden the meteorite.
Ginny Weasley, lying on the rock, let out a faint groan.
"Ginny!" Harry rushed over and checked on Ginny with Julien. Ginny was still unconscious, but her breathing was steady and her face was not as pale as before.
"Who was that just now?" Harry looked up at Julien.
"That's a fragment of Voldemort's soul from when he was 16. He kept it hidden in Ginny's notebook. He was the true heir to Slytherin, and it was he who controlled Ginny to open the Chamber of Secrets."
"I see," Harry nodded, many things he hadn't understood before now making sense. "By the way, what did he mean by his last sentence?"
"Who knows?" Julien shrugged, changing the subject. "Hey, where's Hermione? I haven't seen Hermione."
"Oh right, where's Hermione?" Harry turned around, but Hermione was nowhere to be seen.
At this moment, Rozier and Liria also dusted themselves off and looked around.
"I'm here," Hermione's figure slowly emerged from behind a stone pillar, her head supported by a wand.
The person holding the wand slowly emerged. The blue wizard's robes were tattered, and the once meticulous blond hair was now disheveled.
Gilderoy Lockhart.
