Chapter 112 Divination

Night falls.

Madison and Zoe emerged from their respective rooms, chatting and laughing.

Zoe was still wearing the same clothes she had arrived in, while Madison had changed into a sexy bodycon dress that accentuated her stunning figure.

Madison's eyes lit up when he saw Suren's back as he sat on the living room sofa with his eyes closed, seemingly resting.

She walked over, leaned against the back of the sofa, her upper body almost pressed against Suren's.

"Hey, handsome guy."

Madison breathed softly, "We're going to have some fun at the best bar around here, wanna come along?"

Suren opened her eyes, glanced at her, and said, "You guys go have fun first, I'm still waiting for someone."

That's such a shame.

Madison pursed his lips, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes.

She stood up and pulled Zoe up beside her.

"Then we're leaving you to your own devices. Let's go, Zoe."

Just as Madison turned around, Suren's mind stirred slightly.

A wisp of magic flew out from his body and attached itself to Madison.

This ability to gather a trace of magic and attach it to others was something he developed through practice.

As long as they don't go too far, I can find them at any time before the magic dissipates.

Not long after, the villa door was pushed open again.

Fiona is back from outside.

"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, Suren."

"fine."

"That's what Su Lun replied."

The principal's demeanor was completely different from when he was talking on the plane.

The fine lines on her face had faded considerably, and her skin had become firmer, making her look much younger.

"Cordelia, my daughter, has told me everything that happened this afternoon."

After Fiona sat down, she smiled and said, "These young girls have only recently awakened their talents, and it's difficult for them to control their emotions and power. Please forgive them if they have offended you in any way."

Suren waved his hand, indicating that everything was alright.

Fiona sized up the young man before her, her eyes flickering. After a moment's hesitation, she said, "How about staying at the academy and becoming my special advisor?"

"In return, I can personally mentor you."

Suren didn't respond to her question, but instead said, "I need you to perform a divination for me."

"A few days ago, a friend of mine was attacked in Los Santos, and I want to know who was behind it."

Fiona was slightly taken aback, seemingly not expecting that Suren was completely uninterested in magic.

She nodded: "Of course, no problem. This is what I promised you before."

"Give me a photo of the attacker, and one of her personal belongings."

Suren took out a picture of Patty from her pocket, with a hair clip tucked into the picture.

Fiona took the photo, walked to a small round table in the corner of the living room, and took out a tarot deck from the drawer.

A circle of candles was placed on the round table.

Fiona first carefully examined Patty's appearance, then picked out a card from the deck and placed it flat on the table.

Having learned about the occupation beforehand, Suren knew that this should be a signpost.

The signposts are like unnamed characters in this divination.

Next, simply place an item that carries Patty's personal scent on the sign, and the sign will absorb the scent, giving the unnamed protagonist a name.

Sure enough, Fiona pressed the hairpin against the sign, closed her eyes, and began to mutter a spell.

After completing this step, Fiona drew four cards from the remaining deck, one by one, and placed them face down in the positions above, below, left, and right of the indicator card.

She reached out and hovered her hand above the four unopened cards, closing her eyes to sense them.

The instant she reached out her hand, the candle flames around the table suddenly changed from orange-yellow to eerie green, and the flames surged instantly.

A layer of cold sweat quickly seeped onto Fiona's forehead, and her hand trembled slightly in mid-air, as if she were under some kind of pressure.

A moment later, she suddenly opened her eyes and withdrew her hand.

The candle returned to its normal color.

Fiona took out a handkerchief to wipe her sweat, then reached out and flipped over the two cards.

The card above depicts the emperor, while the card below depicts the demon.

Suren raised an eyebrow as he looked at the cards.

"These revealed cards represent the Destiny and Shadow positions for this divination."

Fiona pointed to the Emperor card above and explained.

"The Mandate of Heaven position represents the identity and characteristics of the person in charge behind the scenes. The Emperor indicates that the person holds a high position and controls power and resources."

She then pointed to the card below that depicted a ram-horned demon: "The shaded area represents the motive for murder, and the demon signifies that the killer has descended into a state of madness. They disregard all moral boundaries."

"Does the candle changing color mean there's danger?"

"Surren asked."

Fiona nodded: "The candle changing color is a warning to me."

"This shows that the environment in which the murderer was located, or rather, the murderer himself, was extremely dangerous."

Suren frowned: "Can you tell me the exact location?"

Fiona didn't answer immediately. Instead, she flipped open the card on the right side of the sign, closed her eyes, and sensed it for a moment.

Just seconds later, she suddenly opened her eyes, her body instinctively leaning back as she gasped for breath.

"A very powerful force severed my spying."

Fiona clutched her chest, still shaken, and said, "The other party is at least a wizard, or rather, has a top wizard helping them."

"Not only that, but they also set up many barriers around them."

"All I could smell was the metallic odor of red earth."

She smiled wryly, saying that this was the first time she had suffered a setback in all these years as the Supreme Witch.

Suren remained calm; he wasn't surprised at all that the other party had a wizard helping him.

However, the fact that they were able to sever the hold of a Supreme Witch shows that these wizards are definitely not simple.

They might be another group of ancient monsters who have lived for centuries.

"Red Soil —"

This kind of soil is rare; only a few states in the entire United States have it. If we do a thorough investigation later, we might be able to pinpoint where these people are hiding.

Thank you.

After putting away the photos and hair clip, Suren paused and said again, "Besides that, I want to make another deal with you."

Fiona was somewhat surprised and remained silent.

"I want a collection of books about magic."

"That's what Suren said."

Upon hearing this request, Fiona's smile faded considerably.

She sighed. "You should understand that the witch's sacred texts cannot be passed on to outsiders."

"Even fundamental theories must not fall into the hands of outsiders —"

"What if I told you I knew a way to stay young forever and live forever?"

Suren interrupted her, saying that for someone like Fiona, personal interests always take precedence over the interests of the group.

Fiona paused, then said somewhat stiffly, "I don't know why you're telling me this?"

Suren sneered inwardly, "She's quite the actor."

He said, "Aren't you afraid that the new generation of witches will grow up and drain you, the former witch, dry?"

'

The fate of the Sorcerer Supreme has always been tragic.

As a new generation of witches begins to rise, Fiona, as the former Supreme Witch, will find her magical power flowing uncontrollably towards the most promising successor.

Without the blessing of magic, her body will begin to age like a normal person until her magic is completely drained and she dies.

"Bang!"

The light bulb overhead shattered, the candles on the table fell over, and the room was instantly plunged into darkness.

Fiona quickly realized her lapse in composure, and the candles were lit again.

She struggled to suppress her shock, her gaze fixed on Suren: "Where did you learn all this?"
