People are scared in America, my uncle is Dante

Chapter 137 Shura Blade

"But that can only be considered an additional condition."

Suren paused, then added.

Hearing his greed, Bayonetta was not angry at all; instead, she burst out laughing.

"How greedy you are, little one. Aren't you afraid of overeating?"

She extended her fingers, clad in white lace gloves, and gently touched Suren's chest.

"This matter concerns the safety of your girlfriend, Patty. Aren't you worried that she might get hurt again?"

"Even without you, I can handle them myself; it just takes a little more time."

Suren met her gaze, unyielding. "If it's a collaboration, then there must be sincerity in doing so."

Hearing Suren's arrogant remarks, Bayonetta's smile deepened: "Not only is he greedy, but he also has quite a temper."

With a flick of her wrist, a long knife appeared in her hand, which she casually tossed to Suren.

"I heard your weapon broke recently, so I'll give you a little more leverage."

"But it's agreed—"

Yunita's red lips curved slightly, a glint of cunning in her eyes. "If you break it, you'll have to pay with your soul."

Suren caught the knife; it was icy cold to the touch. Just holding it stirred a bloodthirsty restlessness within him.

Pull it out slightly.

The blade is long and slender, with a dark red blood groove running through it. The hilt has a classic diamond-patterned design, and a tassel hangs at the end.

The sword is much longer than the Yamato, and looks more like a nodachi.

Looking at the familiar shape, he immediately remembered the origin of this knife.

The Demon Blade: Asura Blade?!

This knife contains the soul of the demon god Asura.

Even before it was fully drawn, its sharp edge caused a slight stinging sensation on his skin.

Suren gripped the hilt of the knife and swung it twice while it was still sheathed. The feel was excellent, and the weight distribution was perfect.

Moreover, after acquiring this katana...

Besides being able to use the divine skills like "Dimensional Slash" and "Swift Iai" that he got for free from the Yamato trial card, he also has other abilities.

The Asura Blade itself also comes with a powerful skill: Iaijutsu: Vacuum Wave.

It's essentially a sword draw slash; after charging up, it can instantly unleash a wide-ranging crescent-shaped sword aura that sweeps across the battlefield.

The effect is somewhat similar to the Void Blade Realm of Yama, but the two have very different magical power circulation.

Suren was overjoyed, thinking, "I've made a fortune!"

However, this joy did not last long before a doubt arose in his mind.

How long has this woman been secretly following me?

Not only did he know everything about Patty's attack, but he even knew that his own weapon was damaged?

He looked up at Bayonetta, about to ask a question.

Bayonetta did not give him another chance to speak.

Its form transformed into a flock of black crows and disappeared into the vast night.

Suren breathed a sigh of relief when she saw her leave.

Dealing with this kind of eccentric witch is really exhausting.

You never know how she'll tempt you next, or dig a hidden trap.

He turned his head and looked at Constantine, who had been silently smoking in the corner since earlier.

Are you two from the same world? How did you meet?

Suren couldn't help but ask the question that was on her mind.

Constantine took a deep drag of his cigarette and exhaled a smoke ring.

"It's all so that you can investigate that damn mark."

"I was gathering information on the black market when she caught me."

He glanced at Suren and gave him a look that said, "Good luck."

"This woman is more troublesome than any demon in hell."

"If she sets her sights on you, things won't be pleasant from now on."

Suren looked out the window and shook his head.

Although dealing with Bayonetta was tiring, I understood her personality very well.

As long as you don't spoil her fun and go along with her quirky sense of humor and queen-like temperament, she's actually very easy to get along with.

He ignored Constantine's warning and sheathed the Asura Blade.

Now that he had obtained the intelligence and weapons he wanted, he had no reason to stay any longer.

Suren waved to him and left the exorcism hut.

It was already past midnight when I got back to the office.

The lobby on the first floor was quiet. Patty and Carrie should have been asleep long ago, and Virgil still hadn't returned.

He didn't turn on the light, tiptoed to the sofa, lay down, and pulled a blanket over himself.

Suren opened her phone and began searching for information about clay.

Even though Bayonetta had given him a clear goal, he still wanted to do some research and learn more information; it couldn't hurt.

The screen lit up, displaying a large amount of geographical information and related reports about the distribution of red soil.

-

Suren glided past quickly.

Besides the states Bayonetta mentioned, there are actually several other states in the United States that also produce this special type of soil.

For example, Georgia and Texas.

"Is it because these locations lack testing sites, or is it simply that the other party doesn't want to bother with them?"

However, since they're all pretty much the same, we might as well do as Bayonetta suggests.

At least there she was there to protect him.

After thinking for a moment, Suren began searching for keywords such as "serial disappearances," "bizarre murders," and "psychopathic killer" in the states mentioned by the other party.

Soon, several news reports caught his attention.

In the swampy regions of Louisiana, legends of voodoo cults involving human sacrifice have long been circulated.

In recent years, there have been frequent cases of tourists from other places mysteriously disappearing there, never to be seen again, neither alive nor dead.

Police have repeatedly sent search and rescue teams into the swamp, but all attempts have been unsuccessful.

The name of the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois, has appeared again.

-

Miles is already dead, so we'll skip that.

In the search results for Maine, in addition to the previously widely publicized fog incident, there were also some rumors about animals in Ludlow coming back to life.

Suren continued flipping through the records and discovered some more old ones. Every few decades, the town of Derry would experience a large-scale case of missing children.

"It Chapter Two?"

The familiar place name and the missing child case immediately brought to mind a monster—Pennywise.

It can move through the shadows of the sewers, specifically tormenting children for amusement, turning them into their deepest fears, and finally devouring them.

He remembered that in the original story, the other side was eventually forced back by the seven children working together.

To deal with it, all you need to do is face your fears, and Pennywise the Clown will have no way to get to you.

This is why it specifically targets children, because adults don't believe in such things and therefore aren't afraid.

I wonder if the Joker has woken up yet.

From this perspective, it seems that everything was actually orchestrated by that evil sorcerer group in secret.

The so-called clowns are probably experimental products created by them through the fusion of demons and humans.

Suren tossed aside his phone and took out the note the witch had given him.

Since he had decided to act as bait, he had to go to the place with the most monsters and demons, wantonly destroy these experimental subjects, and force them to come out and find him on their own.

Louisiana has a complex swampy terrain, and various voodoo sects and cults are deeply entrenched in the area.

One wrong move and you could get caught up in an endless battle with local gangs, a thankless and exhausting affair.

As for Miles from Illinois, that unfortunate fellow has long since passed away.

In contrast, Maine is truly a blessed land with outstanding people and beautiful scenery.

Not only were there military-related fog incidents, but the news also featured animals coming back to life, vampire tales, and clowns in Derry.

This is definitely a key testing ground for the evil sorcerer's group.
