People are scared in America, my uncle is Dante

Chapter 3 The Impressive Chrisbella

In mid-air, the wind howled.

Rose was enveloped in a feeling of weightlessness; she could feel her body beginning to fall.

Her eyes were closed, and her mind was blank.

I'm doomed...

This was the last thought in her mind.

Just as the downward momentum began, Suren stepped down again.

"Buzz—"

A crimson magical ripple appeared beneath his feet, as if he were standing on solid ground.

【Demon - Double Jump】

Using this reaction force, his body, which was originally falling, defied the laws of physics and was lifted into the air again!

The red trench coat opened in the air, like the wings of a demon.

"Thump!"

A muffled thud, and rubble flew everywhere.

Suren landed steadily on the road on the opposite bank, his knees slightly bent, his powerful physique bearing the brunt of the impact.

But this wasn't so friendly to Ross, who was being carried on his shoulders.

The immense inertia nearly shook her internal organs out of her body.

"See, aren't they coming over?"

Suren released his grip and placed Ross on the ground.

"vomit--"

Ross lay on the ground, dry heaving and trembling, looking at Suren as if he were a monster in human skin.

"Who...who are you? You can fly?!"

"Madam, you must trust science."

Suren straightened her wind-blown hair and coat. "As a private investigator, to handle complex cases, you need to master some special parkour techniques..."

"That makes sense, right?"

Ross opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know what to say.

Special...parkour techniques?

Is this really reasonable?

……

At the end of the thick fog, a magnificent church finally emerged from the mist.

This is the only pure land in Silent Hill, and the gathering place for all the survivors.

Scattered around the perimeter are cemeteries, with tilted tombstones and crosses interspersed among them, like spirits unwilling to die.

Suren and Ross stood at the bottom of the steps, looking at the Gothic building.

An upside-down cross hangs high at the top, with four huge loudspeakers pointing in the four directions of the town.

The door was tightly shut, and faint sounds of prayer could be heard coming from inside.

"Sharon painted the exact same picture in there; she must be inside the church!"

Ross, his face contorted with excitement, stumbled up the steps and pounded on the tightly closed door.

"Open the door! Please let us in!"

"My daughter is missing, she might be inside! Please, please open the door!"

The prayers inside the door did not stop because of her pleas; instead, they became even louder, drowning out Ross's cries.

To those xenophobic believers, any noise outside the door was merely a trick by the devil to lure them into opening it.

"Why won't you open the door?"

Ross slid to his knees in front of the door, feeling helpless.

Suren stood at the bottom of the steps watching this scene, stroking his chin, when he suddenly remembered something.

He brought Ross with him, skipping most of the mystery-solving plot in the movie.

According to the original timeline, Sharon should not have been captured by those believers yet, and is most likely still wandering around in the fog of the town.

Suren glanced at the system task again.

Side Quest: Mother's Love

[Mission Objective: Assist Ross in finding his daughter Sharon and ensure Ross's survival.]

[Task Reward: 500 points]

The mission was to find his daughter Sharon, but searching for her with just him and Ross was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

"Then why not just take over this church and let these believers find it for me?"

Suren's gaze turned toward the church.

What good people could be among the believers dragged into Silent Hill by Alessa?

It's not a pity if he dies.

but……

Suren recalled the fanatical and morbid faith of the believers in the movie.

These people have been brainwashed too much.

If it's just a matter of simple violent suppression, it's hard to guarantee that these lunatics will obediently work. They might even treat him like a demon and come rushing to their deaths.

Although he doesn't mind killing people, now that everyone is dead, who will help him find Sharon?

An image of an old woman in a blue-purple robe appeared in Suren's mind.

Chris Bella.

She was the bishop of this church and the spiritual leader of this group of survivors. She was also the one who orchestrated the tragedy of Aresa.

To these fanatics, Chrisbella's words were God's will.

Most importantly, Chrisbella herself was not some kind of saint who was willing to die for her cause.

She is essentially an ambitious person who uses the name of faith to turn the church into her own personal fiefdom, using fear to eliminate dissidents and using church rules to satisfy her own desires.

People who crave power are most afraid of death and are also the most pragmatic.

If you put a knife to her neck, she'll cooperate more than anyone else.

However, this plot seems so familiar...

Using the bishop to intimidate believers?

Having sorted out her thoughts, Suren walked up the steps, grabbed Ross, and placed her aside like a chick.

"Let me do it, ma'am."

"Why bother with manners here?"

Suren stood in the center of the gate, expressionless, raising his right leg and gathering power.

"boom!!"

A loud bang rang in everyone's ears.

This door, which had stood in the church for decades and was regarded by believers as the last line of defense, was now kicked open, frame and all.

Wood chips flew everywhere, and the thick door collapsed heavily inward, crashing to the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Inside the church, hundreds of candles were extinguished by the blast wave, leaving only a few flickering embers in the dust.

The believers, who had been praying devoutly with their eyes closed following the bishop, were terrified by the loud noise, thinking that a monster had breached the church.

As the smoke cleared, a man in a dark red trench coat swaggered in, his backlit figure giving him an imposing presence.

"How dare you!!"

On the altar, an old woman dressed in a blue-purple robe suddenly stood up, her face filled with shock and anger.

The woman had a harsh face, and even her exquisite makeup couldn't hide the arrogance that was ingrained in her bones.

It was Chrisbella.

"Excuse me, Bishop Chrisbella, I have a small request I'd like to discuss with you."

Suren looked at Chrisbella, who was surrounded by the crowd, and her lazy voice echoed in the empty church.

Such a dismissive attitude thoroughly enraged the bishop, who was usually aloof and superior.

Here, who doesn't treat her with utmost respect? Even strangers who stumble upon this place can only kneel at her feet and beg for protection!

But when her shrewd eyes met Suren's gaze, a chill instantly ran from the soles of her feet to the top of her head.

As a bishop who ruled this cursed land for decades, Chrisbella relied not only on her iron-fisted methods, but also on her exceptionally keen perception of the darkness.

She boasted that she had a divine eye that could see through evil.

This allowed her to easily spot heretics in the crowd whose souls carried an aura of evil, and send them to the stake.

But now, in her perception, what stood before her was not human; it was clearly a devil in human skin!

This demonic aura, originating from the depths of her blood, was purer and more ancient than any monster she had encountered in Silent Hill over the decades.
