The top floor of a dilapidated apartment building in the suburbs.

This is Constantine's exorcism hut, and also where he usually lived.

As soon as Suren arrived at the door, he could smell a pungent odor of incense and sulfur.

Constantine pushed open the door, just about to remind Suren to be careful of the runes at the entrance.

Then Su Lun swaggered in, even curiously grinding the trapping formation drawn on the floor with black dog blood.

"you……"

Constantine was secretly alarmed as he looked at the exorcism arrays that had no effect on Suren.

These magic circles and the materials used to construct them were obtained by him at great expense and effort from several Gypsy wizards and exorcists.

Even high-ranking demons could be temporarily kept at bay outside the door, but now it was completely ineffective against this guy who exuded a demonic aura.

"what?"

Suren noticed his gaze, touched the skull hanging on the wall, and said, "Your little tricks can only keep out pure-blooded demons at best."

"Although I have demonic blood flowing through my veins, in my heart, I still consider myself human. You can't discriminate against me because of my bloodline, can you? That's illegal."

Constantine, not wanting to hear any more of his strange remarks, walked to the table with a dark expression.

He swept the clutter off the table and carefully took out a roll of parchment and spread it out.

As soon as the scroll was unrolled, a strong smell of blood filled the room.

As Suren approached, he discovered a detailed map of America on the scroll. To his surprise, each state and region on the map was marked with a few drops of bright red blood, as if they had just been dripped on.

Only a very small portion of the blood droplets had dried and turned black.

"This is a psychic map created by a friend of mine who is skilled in psychic arts, using her own blood as a medium, at great cost."

Constantine pointed to the red bloodstains on the map, his tone grave: "These bloodstains roughly pinpoint the monsters and demons across the United States, such as the one that caused trouble in Poho County a while ago..."

"Stop."

Suren interrupted Constantine, saying, "Why are you telling me all this? I just want to know the information that crazy woman is asking for. I have no interest in saving the world or maintaining peace in America."

Who was Constantine?

Suren was all too familiar with him; an old charlatan, a fraudster.

If you don't take the initiative when you're with him, you're just waiting to be completely fooled by him.

And who are the people around the other party?

A malevolent angel, a demon who can turn on you at any moment, and those eccentric dark wizards.

Only when Constantine felt that things had completely escalated and he was about to collapse would he actively seek outside support.

When he seeks outside help, it's most likely because he intends to use them as pawns.

Suren had no intention of getting dragged into some kind of war between gods and demons. His current goal was clear: to complete tasks, earn points, activate his bloodline, and pay off his debts.

"..."

Constantine felt somewhat exhausted.

He always had this illusion that this young man, whom he had only met a few times, had seen through all his subtle and scheming thoughts.

The other person might even be able to guess what color underwear you're wearing.

"Okay, back to that crazy woman, I call her the Slit-Mouthed Woman."

Constantine sighed and said, "She...is very strange."

"I used some of my connections with the police to investigate her background. She was just a moderately well-known model in Los Santos."

"Later, because her jealous roommate cut her mouth in her sleep, disfiguring her, she suffered a mental breakdown and attempted suicide by overdosing on pills."

Suren nodded, signaling him to continue.

"Logically speaking, a spirit with such strong resentment should be dealt with by a regular exorcism ritual. But that's where the problem lies."

"I've tried several times, even using holy water and magic circles to purify her. But every few days, she reappears and continues killing."

Constantine's tone turned somewhat bitter as he said this.

For a seasoned exorcist, what could be more devastating than an unkillable vengeful spirit or demon?

After listening to Constantine's description, Suren pondered for a moment, a guess forming in his mind. He continued to ask:

"Besides this immortal slit-mouthed woman, have there been any other similar incidents in Los Santos recently?"

"have."

Constantine nodded immediately, his brow furrowed: "Recently, a little boy has been appearing on the highway outside the city, always hitchhiking in the middle of the night."

"And those drivers who gave him a ride out of kindness would eventually die in car accidents. I've tried to deal with them, but the result is the same as with the Slit-Mouthed Woman—they can't be killed."

He had lit a cigarette without anyone noticing, and took a deep drag: "These things seem to have their own set of rules, and they only operate within their own small, fixed area, killing people in an endless cycle."

"Don't these two vengeful spirits have something in common: they've both been dead for a long time?"

Suren suddenly spoke up.

How did you know?

Constantine was shocked to hear this. He had only found out through a police friend that the female model had been dead for four or five years, and the little boy had died in a car accident a few years ago.

now it's right.

Suren's brain was working at lightning speed.

All of this must have been the work of a voodoo priest known as Midnight Father.

This guy may be a wizard, but he's also a businessman who only cares about money.

He charges exorbitant fees to use voodoo to summon the spirits of the dead, allowing wealthy people with regrets or relatives with guilty consciences to meet the deceased and give their wills.

But something went wrong, and his psychic abilities went out of control, turning into some kind of resurrection spell.

Those vengeful spirits who were forcibly summoned back to the human world did not return to hell or heaven by the same route. Instead, they were trapped at the place where they died, like a videotape on a cassette tape, reliving the scene of their death day after day.

The reason for this level of spell going out of control...

Thinking of this, Suren was startled. Darkness was about to descend?!

His previously languid expression vanished. He pointed to the map scroll on the table covered in blood droplets and asked:

"So you were trying to tell me about the coming darkness at the beginning?"

"What? Darkness is coming?"

Constantine looked at Suren with suspicion, somewhat unable to keep up with the other's unconventional train of thought.

However, seeing that Suren had finally shown interest in the important matter he had initially intended to discuss, and considering that he did indeed need some allies to share the burden, he continued along with Suren's words: "I don't know what you mean by the coming darkness."

"The current situation is far more serious than that."

"Why do you think that brainless demon from the daytime could so easily cross the barrier between the two realms?"

"Because the barrier between hell and the human world has long been riddled with holes."
