Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 103: The Octopus Guest

"Oh~ uh~ uh~~~" The horse neighed and bared its teeth, its messy mane looking somewhat comical.

Noah crossed his arms and looked at the two horses, saying uncertainly, "Strictly speaking, they are our horses now, but the problem is, where are we going to put them? They're a bit too big..."

Lin Wen seemed thoughtful as well, "It seems the only option is to rent a stall for them to live in the stable. The stable also provides food, which saves us a lot of trouble. Even so, the overall cost is still much more cost-effective than renting!"

"Mmm! I think it's a good idea!" Finita agreed.

"Woof woof!"

Walking through the familiar streets and alleys, Loran let out a long sigh of relief. "I never imagined we could come back here and go through what happened. It all feels like a dream..."

"Yeah, to be honest, I really wanted to leave a last message there. Those monsters are so troublesome. I've never even seen them before... I really don't know where they came from. It's like they appeared out of thin air!" Lin Wen complained.

Noah added, "Yes, without any warning, and without any precedent to follow."

"Perhaps... those monsters are the creation of some evil alchemist! He has some unknown collaboration with the kobolds and goblins!" Finita speculated with some fear.

Loran remained silent; he vaguely sensed something, but his connection was futile.

They found a suitable spot at the stable and rented it for the two horses to live in. After doing all this, Loran and his companions headed to the Adventurers' Guild.

Clearly, they were unable to complete their mission, as Daotian Village was now in ruins, and the mission authorization certificates left behind in Daotian Village had vanished.

However, whether the mission is completed or not, the mission must be returned in order to get the silver coins that are held here back.

Lin Wen casually copied a mission assignment with his hand, placed it on the table, and pushed it over after queuing up to reach the front desk.

"Hey, this is our mission assignment. The location is Daotian Village. We completed the mission, but unfortunately, all the mission assignment documents were left there, and we can't bring them back," Lin Wen explained.

The receptionist held up the task assignment for a look. Lin Wen's handwriting was somewhat "flowing," and it would take her some effort to decipher it.

She murmured, "Hmm... the mission assignment from Inada Village, right? You lost your original mission assignment, didn't you? No problem, let me check the records..."

The receptionist was about to go and check the records, but she stopped halfway through her action, her mind going into a brief lapse.

Somewhat bewildered, she asked, "Wait... tell me, where did you receive your mission from?"

"Inada Village".

"Indah...Indah Village, this...how is this possible? Didn't the adventurers all say that even the lord of Clam Town brought news...So who are you?"

Noah nodded slightly. "That's right. We are survivors of that war. To be honest, we almost saw death, but thankfully, we made it."

The young woman could not hide the shock on her face. She continued to retrieve the records and then carefully compared and checked them. She found that the adventure certificate information of the group matched.

The adventurers in front of them were not lying; what they said was true.

"This is unbelievable... Brave adventurers, the guild will not let your efforts go to waste; we will give you your due compensation! May I have a word with you in private?"

The receptionist led Loran and his companions to a room on the third floor of the Adventurers' Guild and poured tea into cups on the table.

The young lady smiled and said, "Everyone, please have some tea."

The administrator of Falling Rock Town, an old man with a white beard, appeared before the crowd.

"Hey, you brave adventurers! I've heard about your deeds, your bravery is truly admirable! Let me introduce myself, my name is Dylant, and I'm currently the guild's manager."

Dylan's purpose in inviting Loran and the others was very simple: like Baron Zeya, he wanted to learn about the situation in Inada Village.

As survivors, Loran and his companions naturally have access to a great deal of intelligence, which will have a significant impact on the entire territory's defense strategy.

Loran and the others didn't try to hide anything and shared all this information.

After the conversation, Loran and his companions received another batch of silver coins as a reward from the Adventurers' Guild, totaling 400 silver coins, which was much more generous than what Baron Zeya had given them.

Including the mission reward, Loran and his companions received a total of 600 silver coins!

This will be the most reliable reliance for Loran and the others to improve their combat power in the current situation.

"We've survived such difficult times, I believe we can definitely pull through! Let's use the silver coins we've earned to improve our strength!" Lin Wen said earnestly.

"The Adventurers' Guild will likely have more quests coming up lately, but we're not in a rush. We've already witnessed the power of those monsters. Let's take a few days to calm down and observe the situation. What do you all think?"

"No problem. I also think everyone should prepare properly. Only by sharpening a sharp iron blade can one cut through the strongest tendons and bones," Noah said calmly.

Loran smiled slightly, "That's right, everyone just struggled out of such a dangerous situation, it really wasn't easy, so get ready!"

"Okay! Get ready!"

"Woof!"

After the group disbanded, Lorraine took Brian directly to Thompson's antique shop.

At that moment, Thompson was pitching a product to a customer.

"I bought the jewelry I wanted from your shop last time, and my fiancée loved it, so I'd like to pick out some other pieces from you..."

The customer selecting jewelry was none other than Mark Warren, a shop he had visited before, and Lorraine naturally remembered this nobleman.

To his surprise, this nobleman didn't notice anything amiss after buying a counterfeit item and even became a repeat customer of Thompson's store! How could anyone justify this?

With Thompson's persuasive words, Mr. Mark Warren selected a beautiful pearl bracelet and left satisfied.

This seemingly ordinary pearl bracelet, according to Thompson, is a treasure trove of pearls hidden by deep-sea siren, symbolizing eternal love.

For Mark, who doesn't value money that much, such a precious item with such symbolic meaning was something he would buy without hesitation.

Thompson looked at the gleaming gold coins in his hand, his eyes sparkling.

Lorraine then suddenly remarked, "Hey, old man, are you engrossed in watching?"

Thompson's eyes widened as he recognized Lorraine, then he looked down to see a large white dog charging at him.

"Hey! I missed you so much! I really miss your unique stench!" Brian excitedly pounced on him.

"Eh!"
