Archer's Adventure Manual
Chapter 122: Mark Warren's Wedding Activities
In the dream, the archery competition held at Plasson Manor had ended many days ago.
Mylter practiced his archery absentmindedly, while his father happened to arrive at the training ground to observe mylter's every move.
When Mielt's father saw Loran and Mielt behaving like friends, he immediately sensed something was amiss.
After observing for a while, Mylt's father stepped forward. He looked at Mylt and Lorraine solemnly and said calmly, "If I remember correctly, this should be your assistant, right, Mylt?"
When Mylt saw his father arrive, he quickly bowed and replied earnestly, "Yes, Father, he is indeed the assistant you hired for me."
"But I don't see what an assistant should do in him. From my perspective, you're more like the assistant," Myrt's father said with some dissatisfaction.
Mylt quickly explained, "Father, the competition just ended these past few days, so I let my assistant relax a bit."
"Hmph... I hope so."
Mylt wanted to explain something, but just then, a man rode up to the shooting range.
"Is Mr. Myert here?"
Mylt paused slightly upon hearing this, then replied, "Yes, I am here."
Soon, the man on horseback arrived in front of Meyer with a letter and handed him the envelope.
"Mr. Myrt, this is a letter for you, sent from the castle."
After delivering the letter, the rider left without stopping.
Mylt's father said nothing, simply taking the envelope from Mylt and scoffing, "Mylt, I doubt you've been focusing on archery all day. Whose sweet love letter is this now?"
Without waiting for Mylt's explanation, he tore open the envelope and began to examine its contents.
Loran watched from the side, frowning deeply. But that's how it is with nobles; the authority of elders is sometimes something that cannot be questioned...
However, when Mylt opened the envelope and saw its contents, his expression faltered slightly. He looked at Mylt with some suspicion and asked strangely, "You actually passed the archery competition and earned a spot in the official archery competition in Plassen?"
Mylt was stunned. He hadn't expected the envelope to contain this. He looked at his father uncertainly, "Father, is what you're saying true?"
A proud smile appeared on Mylter's father's face. He walked over and patted Mylter on the shoulder. "You're a true son of mine. Well done! I hope you can keep up the good work in the upcoming matches."
After saying that, Mylter's father turned and left, giving Loran a deep look before saying nothing more.
Mylt, his earlier gloom gone, was overjoyed to see the envelope in his hand announcing his success in the competition. "I did it! My score is good enough to qualify for the Plasson competition!"
Lorraine smiled and said, "Yes, you did it. Now, let's work even harder in the next match!"
Mylt clenched his fist and nodded earnestly, saying, "Yes! I will prove myself! Thank you, Loran!"
......
Today is a joyous day for Rockfall, as Mr. Mark Warren's wedding ceremony will be held in town.
The streets and alleys were bustling with activity as everyone participated in the lord's generous rewards.
Loran also arrived at the manor within the designated time and will enter the venue at the appropriate time as a contestant.
For others, their archery competition is a performance, but for participants like Loran, it's about competing for rankings and striving for rewards.
As a contestant, Erfen also arrived at the waiting area. Upon seeing Loran, he greeted him as enthusiastically as before.
"Welcome! It's nice to see you again. How are you feeling today?"
Loran remained calm and casually replied, "Hmm, it's alright."
"It's just okay... I think that's far from enough. You'll probably need to give it your all today!" Elfin teased.
"If you used your talking skills on meditation, you might be able to go even further," Loran retorted.
Elfin shrugged. "I'm strong enough already. Meditation? I don't need it at all. Just you wait! I'll show you the difference in strength. And one last thing I have to mention."
Elfin's gaze shifted to Brian, who was standing at Loran's feet. "Your dog is really cute."
Brian felt Elfin's gaze, and for some reason, he just had an inexplicable sense of resistance towards this guy.
"Woof woof!" Brian barked twice in dissatisfaction, while his nose twitched a few times as he sniffed the air. A familiar yet unfamiliar scent wafted through his nostrils.
Brian, who is fluent in languages, is increasingly able to understand human emotions, and his own thinking has also improved significantly. He has also learned to think about some issues.
After Elfin left to a distance, Brian told Loran about his discovery, "Loran, I remember smelling this scent before, in a room in that small town... I vaguely smelled it, and..."
Brian frowned, thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. "Also, that rainy day, I was injured, and you saved me. Before that, I smelled this scent in the air. It wasn't unpleasant, but it was very distinctive. I'm absolutely certain of that!"
Loran was stunned by Brian's description. A considerable amount of time had passed, and this rekindled Loran's memories.
"You mean... Elfin was very likely there the day I rescued you?" Loran's eyes widened.
Brian hesitated for a moment. "Hmm, perhaps. Scent doesn't lie. I haven't smelled anyone else with that scent; only that elven ranger has that unique aroma!"
Loran's expression was complicated. The information Brian provided might be useful, or it might uncover something he had never understood, but... what use would it be if he actually knew?
As the cheers in the city grew louder, Loran and his companions, led by their steward, headed to the designated venue, a very spacious area that could accommodate at least several thousand people.
In the center of the field, targets and other equipment that had been prepared in advance were moved over. These were all movable, just like in a performance. Once Loran and his group finished their competition, the equipment would be removed and replaced with other props for the next activity.
This time, the onlookers weren't just nobles; a small number of commoners also joined in. The competitions were mainly for entertainment and celebration, and weren't the main event of the wedding.
"Welcome everyone to Mr. Mark Warren's wedding! Now, we bring you a competition between some of Rockfall's finest archers! They will showcase their exceptional archery skills to celebrate the wedding ceremony!"
