Chapter 156 Karin and Negotiation

Chapter 156 Karin and Negotiation

"You seem... quite naive. Since I can do something like this, I naturally have no fear of the news leaking out."

"We're like mice. Even if people know mice exist, they can't find them all," Karin, with her pink hair, chuckled self-deprecatingly. "And you, possessing such an ability, are only here to eavesdrop on the little mice's plans. Don't you find that ridiculous?"

From Karin's words, Loran could sense that his ability to unleash skills might indeed be quite special.

"Oh? How come I didn't know I was that powerful? Can't any of you use skills?" Loran asked curiously.

Karin squinted at Loran in front of her and said meaningfully, "This is hardly a secret in Dream City. You couldn't possibly not know this. Who sent you? There's no point in making fun of me here."

Loran suddenly realized, "So, the fact that he can unleash skills is actually quite impressive!"

And this guy even thought he was sent by someone else...

"Okay, thank you for your explanation, but I really wasn't sent by anyone, otherwise I wouldn't have hidden myself. Also, I really don't know anything about skills."

Karin stared at Loran for a long time. "Isn't this knowledge that every follower of the Dream Cult should possess? Didn't your guide tell you this?"

"Hmm... I don't think so." Loran shrugged.

Karin stroked her chin, her gaze towards Loran growing increasingly intense, a mischievous smile spreading across her face.

Loran frowned when he saw her smirk, feeling a bit uneasy. He figured the woman in front of him probably couldn't do anything to him, but he also felt that she must know a lot.

Just like what he had been looking for, there will always be people who don't want to sell their own value to obtain dream fragments through a dream factory.

Now, he found her. Karin was clearly a rule-breaker, and she possessed enough fragments of dreams.

In addition, Loran has the unique ability to unleash skills in Dream City. With these factors combined, Loran believes there is a lot of room for maneuver.

Karin felt she couldn't quite figure out the guy in front of her. Whether it was his identity or anything else, he exuded a strange aura.

"What was your purpose in eavesdropping on our conversation?" Karin decided to start by examining Loran's behavior.

"No comment." Loran chose not to answer the question. "You're asking too many questions, which makes me look bad. I also want to ask you some questions."

"you say."

"There are many people on the street who look blank, including that woman in the room just now. Why are they like that?" Loran asked.

Although he had vaguely guessed some things from the conversation, it wasn't complete, and he wanted to hear what Karin had to say.

"I can't believe you didn't know this. It's no secret either; those people who entered Dream City were controlled by the bishops and are their property."

"The thoughts of those people are influenced by the bishops. Their existence provides the driving force for the dream factory of Dream City to operate, and the bishops can also observe the outside world through these people."

"Once the bishops lose interest, these people will become free citizens. Of course, no one can resist the allure of dreams; everyone is a prisoner of dreams... They will continue to shine for Dream City until they die."

Loran listened attentively, comparing Karin's account with what happened during his first encounter with dreams.

The mentally unstable villagers of Luolin Village were perhaps being controlled by the bishops at the time.

"So the bishops would control them to trade away their own souls?" Loran asked rhetorically.

Karin shook her head. "No, all the bishops can do is influence a part of the spirit. The soul is the world's finest creation, and almost no one can easily make someone trade their soul."

"So, the only one who can trade their soul is themselves. Have you finished asking your questions? Now, may I ask you a question?"

Loran nodded. "Alright, go ahead and ask."

"I'd like to know how you acquired the ability to use skills in dreams."

"have no idea."

"You're just giving me the runaround."

"I'm serious." Loran shrugged. "Then why are you so obsessed with skills? What can I do besides hide and eavesdrop on your plans?"

Karin narrowed her eyes. "You underestimate the value of this action."

Upon hearing this, Loran's lips curled slightly upward, and he said indifferently, "I don't care what value I have, but I don't really like guys like you. I'm leaving now."

He turned to leave as he spoke.

Karin quickly stopped Loran, "Wait, don't go yet."

Loran looked at Karin, who stood up to stop him, and asked curiously, "What are you doing? If you think I overheard your secrets, then I apologize. If you want me to pay the price, then hurry up and do it."

"Do you really think I can't do anything to you? The bishops have the power to punish believers, and the God of Dreams will unleash the power of rules to steal your memory fragments. At that time, you will forget everything, which is no different from losing your soul."

"Then why didn't you take that woman? Because you're afraid of the bishop? If you're so afraid of the bishop, then you're definitely not the bishop, so how did you acquire such power?"

Karin scoffed, "Although I am not a bishop, I wield the authority of a bishop. We are not afraid of bishops. That woman is not a follower of the Dream God Cult; she does not need to be punished like this. She is innocent."

Loran was taken aback. He had actually heard a human word spoken by the pink-haired woman in front of him. He had thought she was a completely insane, man-eating woman.

But anyone can say nice things, and Loran had no intention of believing this guy.

"So you mean you want to punish me? Then why don't you do it?" Loran sneered.

"I want to talk to you," Karin said earnestly.

"What do you want to talk to me about?"

"I hope to borrow your skills and abilities. You may not know this, but the world of dreams is gradually falling into the hands of the bishops. We are all just tools of the bishops. They are our enemies. We need to take back control of Dream City."

"As believers, we can only obtain the dream jars that are within their reach through despicable means. Those jars are resources that belong to Dream City, but they are controlled by them."

Karin said earnestly, word by word, and held out her hand, "So, I hope you can help me, so that we can both live a life where we don't have to put up with those people."

Loran was secretly delighted. After going through such a long and winding road, he had finally gotten the answer he wanted!
