Chapter 182 3 Mages
Chapter 182 The Three Mages
"What exactly happened in Rockfall? What have you done to the townspeople? Jasper, look at yourself now, are you even human?"
"If you can't even be considered human, what use is this power to you?" Loran asked with a cold snort.
At this point, Jasper had undergone a complete transformation, with a pair of full wings on his back and most of his body covered in red scales.
His right arm was exceptionally thick and covered with a layer of rocky skin, and he seemed to crush the magic arrow with ease.
The left arm looked particularly moist, with scattered blue-purple spots, and the palm had webbed tissue.
The whole person looks very out of place...
Jasper chuckled, raised his left arm, and a powerful wave of water blasted towards Loran.
Loran quickly rolled to the side to dodge the water wave attack. The water wave then struck the dangerous wall behind him, and the impact knocked the wall to the ground.
"I despise guys like you the most. You clearly pursue power just like me, yet you criticize the price that power brings. It's good that you modified your eyeballs, but it's bad that I pursue power. It's ridiculous."
Jasper snorted coldly and clenched his right hand!
Loran sensed something unusual about the surrounding soil, so he immediately leaped upwards. With the boost to his physique from the Blood Demon Eye, he jumped to a very high height.
The next moment, the soil beneath his feet suddenly cracked open, forming a pit: if he had been any later, he would have fallen into it.
"Eye, have you ever seen an evil god that combines the abilities of various monsters like this?" Loran asked the Eye of Flesh and Blood in his mind while dodging the attack.
The Eye of Flesh sneered in his mind: "I can sense that his faith is weak, which means that he does not worship a true god. I have never seen such an ability to fuse monster parts before."
"Prepare to die!" Jasper spread his wings and charged rapidly toward Loran.
Without pausing after landing, Loran immediately hid in a half-collapsed house nearby.
Jasper released another wave of water in the air, which struck the walls of the house, causing them to sway slightly.
"What's the use of hiding?" Jasper flapped his wings and chased after him.
He moved his right hand slightly, and the ground beneath Loran's feet moved again.
This time it wasn't a collapse, but a bulge, with a stone spike suddenly emerging from the ground.
Loran fell to the side, the stone spikes grazing his waist and tearing his clothes. He was somewhat surprised; this guy's magic casting movements were not only small, but also incredibly powerful.
Lorraine didn't get up; he lay on the ground, drew his bow, and fired three arrows, one each aimed at Jasper's head, chest, and left arm.
Jasper blocked an arrow aimed at his head with his right arm and used his wings to protect his chest, but a third arrow pierced through the web between his left fingers.
Jasper's palm leaked water, like a broken water bag, and Jasper felt pain as the scales on his face stood up.
"You're asking for it!" Jasper glared angrily, only to find that Lorraine, who had been lying on the ground, had disappeared.
The next moment, Loran emerged from the Shadow Realm, his arm transforming into a ferocious blood demon's touch, stabbing straight at Jasper!
A surge of terrifying flesh and blood power instantly enveloped Jasper's mind. Jasper quickly raised his right arm to defend himself, unleashing a powerful surge of earth elemental power!
"Ding!" The rock layer was very hard, and Loran's arm, which had transformed into flesh and blood, could not penetrate it.
Jasper unleashed a water cannon with his left hand, hurtling towards Lorraine, but Lorraine was prepared and leaped back to dodge it.
He then ran toward another dilapidated house, looking quite disheveled, as if trying to hide again.
Jasper was annoyed by Lorraine's pulling and tugging, so he didn't care about anything else and flapped his wings hard to fly towards Lorraine!
Lorraine casually tossed a small knife at Jasper's face.
Jasper turned his head to avoid it, and in that brief moment...
"Awooo!" A dog's bark, seemingly coming from nowhere, echoed in Jasper's ears.
next moment.
"Bang!"
Brian, with his fleshy wings outstretched, appeared halfway through his journey and slammed his massive body into Jasper, knocking him hard to the ground.
Because Jasper was moving quite fast in mid-air, both Brian and Jasper suffered severe impact damage from the collision.
Brian, with his thick skin, didn't think the impact was a serious injury, but for Jasper, it was hard to accept. The impact was enough to ignore his tough skin and hit his internal organs.
At the moment of impact, Jasper felt a surging torrent within him. The next instant, a piercing pain shot through his ankle as he saw Brian's sharp teeth deeply biting into it.
"Get out of here, you dead dog!" Jasper gritted his teeth, grabbed Brian's wings and started pulling, trying to break off those fleshy wings.
However, Loran was already prepared, and magical arrows, imbued with energy and lightning, hurtled towards them.
"Whoosh!" In an instant, the lightning pierced through Jasper's left arm and stabbed into his side, relentlessly assaulting Jasper's body.
Jasper's hair became frizzy from the electric current.
Jasper's wings became uncontrollable, causing him to lose his balance and soon crash to the ground with Brian, kicking up dust.
"boom!"
Thick layers of rock and soil slammed into Brian amidst the smoke and dust, shoving him aside and sending him sprawling to the ground.
Lorraine's arrows followed closely, intending to kill Jasper while he was weakened.
However, things didn't go as planned. The magic arrow was somehow interfered with in mid-air and disintegrated.
Soon, three figures dressed in mage robes emerged from the shadows and respectfully greeted, "Lord Jasper."
Jasper, clutching his bleeding left arm and abdomen, glared at the three mages. "Why are you so late!"
"I apologize, sir. There were some matters at the castle that caused a delay, and the guards are on their way."
Jasper scoffed, "Is that commander so difficult to deal with? Fine, you guys hurry up and take care of this guy!"
Jasper pointed ahead, only to find that Lorraine was nowhere to be seen.
"Go after them!"
The three monks, upon receiving the order, replied, "Yes!"
With the wind magic activated, the three mages moved at lightning speed, chasing after Loran.
Loran had already run away with Brian, but unexpectedly, Jasper had an accomplice, who seemed to be a mage.
Judging from their ability to deflect magical arrows, these guys' magical level is naturally quite high. In addition, given their numerical advantage, leaving for now is the best option.
However, Loran soon noticed three figures appearing in the distance behind him. It seemed the three mages had caught up; these guys were quite fast.
The voice of the Eye of Flesh echoed in Loran's mind, "Kid, I don't think these guys have enough reason to make you run away in such a sorry state..."
Just at this time.
"Combat Guide: Your ability—Flesh Sacrifice—has been upgraded to Level 4!"
"Combat Guide: Your skill - Blood Demon's Touch has been upgraded to level 2, and your talent - Blood Demon's Eye has been upgraded to level 2!"
'
Ability - Flesh and Blood Sacrifice 1v.4 (4/1000): Sacrifice a dead creature, and you will receive enhancement and nourishment based on the creature, while the creature's body will bloom into a magnificent flower of flesh and blood.
At the same time, Loran felt a strong change in his physique, with both his strength and speed being more than twice as strong as before.
Loran was horrified. He remembered the reason for this change: he had activated a flesh sacrifice when he came into contact with the mountain of corpses.
There was a considerable amount of flesh and blood piled up there, and now it was the reward for the successful flesh and blood sacrifice that was amplifying his body.
There is another important factor: his Blood Demon Eye has been upgraded.
Talent - Blood Demon Eye Iv.2 (0/40): Allows the Blood Demon Eye to temporarily take over one of your eyes, greatly increasing your Spirit, Agility, and Strength. It will automatically trigger when you are under mental tension.
It's important to know that the Blood Demon Eye of Loran is currently active, and a level 2 Blood Demon Eye provides significantly more bonuses than a level 1 Blood Demon Eye.
The three mages saw the guy they were about to catch suddenly increase his speed and disappear again in no time.
The three mages stared at each other in disbelief, then hurriedly unleashed even more powerful wind magic, continuing their surging pursuit of Loran.
But they were destined to be disappointed; Loran had already vanished without a trace.
"Well, he's just a lone adventurer. He won't cause any real trouble. It's those legion guys who are the real victory. If we can contain them, that will be a great victory," a mage chuckled.
The other two monks also agreed with this statement, saying, "Yes, let's go back and report."
But just as they were about to turn back, they suddenly heard a noise behind them. When they turned around, they saw a large white dog that looked rather strange.
It strolled around leisurely, occasionally glancing at them with a proud look, and sometimes flashing a sly smile.
A mage stared wide-eyed. "Where did this stupid dog come from in this town?"
Then they saw the big white dog turn around and wag its rear end toward them, a blatant provocation.
One of the mages had a rather volatile temper. He snorted coldly, and a magical aura appeared on his arm. A powerful bolt of lightning shot towards the large white dog at an extremely fast speed, intending to kill it.
The big white dog was startled and tried to run away, but the lightning was too fast, and it was electrocuted and began to twitch.
"Haha, why are you arguing with a stinky dog? Let's go back," a mage joked, preparing to pat the hot-tempered mage on the shoulder.
His hand fell empty-handed. He was puzzled, so he turned around and found that the hot-tempered mage was nowhere to be seen.
"Wait, where did he go?" The bewildered mage turned around again and found that his other teammate was also missing.
The bewildered mage suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. He turned his head slowly and blankly, and instantly, he met a ferocious pair of eyes.
They recognized that face; wasn't it the face they had been longing to capture?
But when that face actually appeared in front of him, he felt a little...terrified.
"Wind..." The mage had barely uttered a word before Loran grabbed him.
Loran grinned, exerted force with both hands, and a sharp pain instantly swept over the mage's entire body. The mage, whose body was not particularly strong to begin with, immediately fainted.
Loran then used ropes to tie up the three mages who had fainted from the pain on the ground, and led them out of this secluded place to the outskirts of Rockfall Town.
After dragging the three guys to the stream, Loran noticed that the water was quite murky and didn't seem suitable for drinking.
But this didn't matter much. Loran simply filled a container with the water and then splashed it on the faces of the mages.
The three mages were jolted awake by the cold water. They looked at Loran, whose face had returned to normal, and their expressions turned angry.
They tried to break free of the vines using their own strength, but were shocked to find that their hands and feet were completely powerless, as if they had been... interrupted.
"What are you doing? Do you know what you're doing? We are members of the mage guild of Falling Rock Town. Treating us like this will get you wanted!" one of the mages shouted.
Another mage added, "Yes, the situation in Falling Rock Town has changed. Our status is much higher than before. I can't say more, but anyway, if you don't let us leave, you're as good as dead!"
Loran, intrigued by the stubborn mage, asked curiously, "Oh? I'm curious about the changes in the situation of Fallen Rock Town that you mentioned. Since you've already brought it up, why don't you explain it more clearly?"
Upon hearing this, the monk shook his head: "Knowing this won't do you any good. What you need to do now is release us..."
Before he could finish speaking, arcs of electricity began to surge from Loran's palm, flashing with a blinding light.
The mage stared at the arc of electricity, swallowed hard, and stammered, "What...what are you going to do?!"
The next moment, a sizzling sound!
The monk experienced "electrotherapy" from Loran. The service was so comfortable that he fell into a deep sleep, and he seemed to be sleeping quite well.
The other two mages were stunned by what they saw. Then Loran continued to ask, "You're with him, so you must know a lot. I want to know about Rockfall Town. Tell me everything you've seen and heard, and I can let you go."
"But if you don't behave..." The arc of electricity in Loran's hand flickered.
The two mages wore bitter expressions, their mouths tightly shut, looking very resolute.
Loran, however, did not indulge the three guys. He directly used electricity to shock them repeatedly until they were unconscious, then used water to wake them up, repeating this process over and over again.
After more than ten minutes, one of the monks finally couldn't take it anymore. He kept pleading, "I'll talk... I'll talk, please stop shocking us, I'll tell you everything."
The other two monks, their eyes filled with despair, looked at the pleading monk and said bitterly, "Are you really going to take this step?"
"Rather than suffer a fate worse than death here, I'd rather trade my life for your safety." The pleading monk gave a bitter smile.
