I can see experience bars after being transported to another world.

"Go and take that down," Oden said.

Lu Yuan walked over and quickly accepted the task as well.

"Why choose this?" Lu Yuan asked, looking at the description above with some confusion.

"The reason is simple," Oden explained.

"I have some knowledge of inscription. If it is an inscription from a very ancient period, I can offer some assistance. Secondly, there are other inscription-related tasks. I have looked into them, and most of them do not require strange inscriptions."

"Only a portion of those required are issued by students. Most of the materials they settle are common and strange materials, not knight tokens. This doesn't meet your requirements, and you don't have much time afterward. Handing things over with individuals is a waste of time."

"Finally, everything related to the Knight's Order for this mission is negotiable. Ask around first, and if it doesn't work out, we can always change it. It won't make a difference if we wait another day."

Lu Yuan thought about it and felt that Auden made sense, so he decisively accepted both tasks and decided to ask first.

Carrying the two task slips, Lu Yuan rushed to the material procurement area. Facing this wall, there were materials to be procured, detailed prices, and contact persons everywhere.

Auden's original intention was to let Lu Yuan see what materials he was currently lacking, and also to see what materials he could obtain, especially the materials needed to make Dragon Blood Potion, and whether they could be obtained here. However, there were simply too many materials, most of which Lu Yuan had never seen or heard of before, so he could only let Auden take a look.

After a brief pause, Oden's voice suddenly became serious: "Hey, Lu Yuan, something's not right."

"If you look at the recent purchases of medicinal herbs, you'll see a lot of orders for Pure Grass and Holy Light Vine."

"Hmm?" Lu Yuan frowned slightly. "What does this mean?"

He really didn't know what the relationship was between the two plants. Judging from their names, Pure Grass and Holy Light Vine were probably related to the church or the Holy Light. So, wasn't that normal?

For example, holy water and holy light vines sound like they have the same effect. Plus, with so many people dying and so many things happening in the North, it's only natural to talk about so many strange things.

It should be noted that although Lu Yuan had never actually fought against the strange things in the darkness, he could understand from his time in Bronze City that those things in the darkness were definitely not easy to deal with. There was no doubt about that. Who knows what those things in the darkness are?

If a really powerful monster were to wander in, you'd be dead. So isn't it normal for this to happen right now?

Lu Yuan voiced his doubts: "Isn't this holy light material related to the church? It's normal to use it to deal with strange phenomena or contaminants, isn't it? With the Northern Territory in such chaos and so many deaths, acquiring these materials shouldn't be a big problem, right?"

"If it's just about dealing with the supernatural, any kind of holy water will suffice, especially since you have high-grade holy water here, right? Plus, you have light, which is enough to deal with the darkness, so Pure Grass is actually fine. But Holy Light Vines aren't meant to deal with what I'm talking about; they're meant to deal with contamination."

"This contamination mostly targets heretics, and look at the purchase volume, it seems that many people have been contaminated. Also, look at the recent purchase orders, Pure Grass only appeared recently, which means that Holy Light Vines are not being purchased in large quantities for the time being, so they have started to purchase Pure Grass to replace Holy Light Vines. Lu Yuan, the thing I was most worried about is about to happen."

Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan's heart skipped a beat. What did this mean? No way!

Although he didn't understand exactly how dangerous the heretics were, if Oden said they were dangerous, then they were definitely not good people.

After a moment of internal groan, Lu Yuan cautiously asked Oden, "Is it possible you've made a mistake?"

"Impossible!" Oden's voice carried a hint of helplessness, as well as seriousness.

"Because the Holy Light Vines have only one function: to dispel defilement. If such defilement occurs and the Holy Light Vines are used instead of Holy Water, there is only one possibility: that the living person has been defiled and is in a state of being salvageable."

"You may not know much about infidels," Oden continued.

"Heretics are people with faith. Only those with faith are qualified to become heretics. In essence, a heretic is a church that is at odds with the righteous. You can think of it as a church of villains. I remember you also had the aura of a church when you were in Bronze City, didn't you?"

"You can understand it as, they don't worship angels, but some kind of evil god, and an evil god that is not recognized by the empire at all. They will do anything to sacrifice and worship these things, whether they are gods or demons. Some heretics will even swallow these offerings and use them to sacrifice themselves."

"The vast majority of people who are corrupted by heretics do not die directly, but are corrupted by their faith, forcibly altering their path and converting it into a path related to faith. Holy Light Vines are one of the few materials that can reverse this situation, but to be honest, there are very few of them."

"Look at those acquisition dates again," Oden's voice was somewhat grave. "They were there a few days ago, a week ago, and they're still there now. What does that mean? It means we can't acquire them anymore."

"The Knight Academy itself can't possibly have a lot of materials in stock, let alone an extremely rare material like Holy Light Vines. In other words, their acquisition of this material is most likely an order given to the scions of powerful families who need Knight Tokens. They contact their families through various missions or methods."

"Then a large amount of Holy Light Vines were transported here to facilitate the exchange. This is the reason I can think of for why they would increase the purchase of such a scarce resource as Holy Light Vines in such a remote place. Moreover, those who can come to the Knight Academy are all the chosen ones, so they naturally have a lot of connections. Therefore, the situation is not good."

Lu Yuan's expression was also very solemn. He clearly agreed with Auden's account, because Auden had no reason to lie to him on this matter, unless Auden himself was also mistaken, but that was unlikely.

In addition, there was another very bad thing: Oden discovered several medicinal herbs that shouldn't have been there. Most of these herbs were useless and just sat there collecting dust, only useful in certain special situations.

For example, the grass called "Gege grass" has only one function: to lock in the soil and prevent it from being contaminated. Judging from the purchase volume and the previously posted purchase orders, the demand for Gege grass is obviously increasing.

"Alright, stop looking. Things outside are definitely going to be terrible. You need to get ready as soon as possible."

When Lu Yuan saw this, his eyes twitched involuntarily. Although he was prepared, he still felt a little uncomfortable when he heard this. Fortunately, the gray text did not pop up an experience bar related to the Knight Academy, which meant that it could not affect him for the time being, or that this matter was not related to him for the time being. He just didn't know how long he could hold on.

Lu Yuan sighed. The most urgent task was to expedite the Knight's Order and make the Dragon Blood Potion first.

In this way, only by being strong can one have sufficient self-protection capabilities when facing danger.

The person in charge of coordinating tasks at the front desk was the same senior student Lu Yuan had seen before.

The senior student looked at the somewhat familiar face in front of him, then at the two task slips that Lu Yuan handed him, and paused in surprise.

"Two intermediate certifications? You didn't read that wrong?" The senior looked up. "You have two intermediate certifications..."
