She pointed at the nurse, her chest heaving violently.

"I'm the nurse on duty here!" The nurse threw the blood-stained cotton swab into the yellow medical waste bin.

"Not only are you shouting and obstructing treatment, but you also physically pulled on my hand. Look how swollen the back of my child's hand is! Do you think you're so great just because you have money? Does having money give you the right to gamble with a child's life?"

The nurse's voice was very loud. The emergency room was quiet to begin with, and all the patients' families in the surrounding rows of seats looked over.

Those eyes revealed undisguised contempt and accusation, and some even muttered under their breath, "She doesn't deserve to be a mother."

Su Qing felt a surge of anger rush to her head.

She took a sudden step forward, about to retort with another curse.

But suddenly, she felt a tightness in her chest, as if her heart had been squeezed hard.

She has been working non-stop for days, sleeping only two or three hours a day and relying entirely on black coffee to keep going.

I just spent another three hours in the conference room negotiating with HSBC Capital.

She was constantly on edge, having always thought of herself as a powerful woman fighting for her daughter's future in the capital market.

But now, her best friend's accusations, the nurse's scolding, and the way people around her look at her like she's a monster have completely turned her into an irresponsible and vicious mother.

The incandescent light in my line of sight began to distort and elongate, and the faces of the people around me became blurry blocks of color.

A warm liquid flowed out of her nasal cavity without warning.

"Clatter."

A drop of dark red blood fell to the ground and instantly spread.

Shen Man was comforting Tuantuan when she looked up and her brows furrowed instantly: "Su Qing...you...you have a nosebleed."

Su Qing subconsciously raised her hand and rubbed her nose with the back of her hand.

A glaring bloodstain was left on the back of his hand.

She stared blankly at the blood on the back of her hand, her heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to burst out of her chest.

She tried to speak, but only a muffled gasp escaped her throat.

The next second, Su Qing's legs went weak, and she fell straight backward like a piece of wood with its core removed.

A muffled "bang" was heard.

Su Qing slammed heavily onto the cold terrazzo floor of the emergency room and completely lost consciousness.

There was a moment of silence, followed by a burst of gasps.

"Ouch! Someone has fainted!"

The nurse who had argued with Su Qing earlier reacted the fastest, pushing aside the trolley and rushing over to squat down beside Su Qing, shouting loudly:

"Doctor! Bring a stretcher from the emergency room! The family member has fainted!"

The doctor on duty rushed out of the examination room, examined Su Qing's eyelids, and then felt her carotid artery.

"Your heart rate is too fast; your blood pressure is probably spiked."

The doctor turned to look around. "Who are her family members? Quickly, help lift her onto a stretcher and take her to the emergency room for a brain CT scan to check for any ruptured blood vessels!"

Two male caregivers ran over pushing a stretcher.

Shen Man sat on the bench, holding the terrified and crying Tuantuan tightly in her arms, pressing the child's face against her chest to prevent her from seeing the scene on the ground.

"I'm her friend. Doctor, please save her first," Shen Man shouted to the doctor.

Several caregivers hurriedly lifted Su Qing onto a stretcher and pushed her towards the emergency room at the end of the corridor.

The crowd dispersed, and the infusion room returned to its previous noisy state. Only a few drops of dried blood remained on the floor, proof that a farce had just taken place.

Shen Man sighed, holding Tuantuan in one arm, and took out her phone with the other, dialing Su Qing's assistant Xiao Li's number, asking him to come to the hospital immediately.

Ten minutes later.

The glass doors of the emergency room lobby were pushed open.

Lin Fan walked in hurriedly, carrying a steaming stainless steel insulated container.

He walked to the corner of the pediatric infusion room and immediately saw Shen Man sitting on a row of chairs.

Tuantuan leaned against Shen Man's chest, her face pale and tear stains still clinging to the corners of her eyes.

A nurse was squatting nearby, holding a tourniquet, trying to find a vein on the back of Tuantuan's other hand.

Lin Fan's eyes narrowed instantly. He placed the thermos on the chair next to him and strode over.

"What happened?" Lin Fan asked, his voice turning somber as he looked at the swollen back of Tuantuan's left hand and the obvious bruises on it.

"Daddy!" Tuantuan saw Lin Fan and burst into tears, reaching out her little hands, which hadn't been pricked with needles, to hug him.

Lin Fan bent down and took his daughter into his arms. His large, rough hand steadily supported her back.

"Don't move, you'll have to get another injection," the nurse said to Lin Fan, her tone softening as she held the needle.

"Her mother just came and insisted on transferring her to another hospital, tearing out the IV catheter and rupturing a blood vessel. You parents are really playing with your child's life."

Lin Fan's fingers paused on Tuan Tuan's back for a moment, then he looked up at Shen Man.

Shen Man rubbed her temples helplessly and lowered her voice to briefly recount what had just happened.

Lin Fan listened without showing any extra expression on his face.

He lowered his head and focused all his attention back on Tuantuan.

"It hurts a little, press it tighter." The nurse disinfected Tuantuan's right hand with iodine.

Lin Fan firmly held his daughter's wrist with his large hand and coaxed her in a low voice, "Don't look, it'll be over soon."

The needle pierced her skin again, and Tuantuan shuddered in pain, tears silently streaming down her face. But this time, she bit her lip and didn't move.

The nurse applied the adhesive tape, reattached the azithromycin IV drip, and adjusted the drip rate.

"Take it slow, you've just been frightened and your gastrointestinal tract is more sensitive. Call me immediately if you feel nauseous," the nurse instructed before leaving with the tray.

Lin Fanteng reached out and took the stainless steel insulated bucket that was placed on the chair next to him.

As soon as the lid was unscrewed, the aroma of the purple yam and Xiangshui tribute rice, cooked together, wafted out with the white steam, instantly dispelling the pungent smell of Lysol in the surrounding area.

"Are you hungry?" Lin Fan took out a small white porcelain spoon and gently stirred the hot porridge in the thermos.

Tuantuan had her face buried in Lin Fan's arms, but when she smelled the familiar aroma of food that could only be found in the kitchen of the Lin family's shop, her little body suddenly stiffened.

She slowly raised her head, her red and swollen eyes looking at the thermos and then at Lin Fan holding the spoon.

"dad……"

Tuantuan didn't nod, but instead pouted and suddenly burst into tears.

She clutched Lin Fan's clothes tightly, crying uncontrollably, her voice hoarse and heartbreaking.

"I miss you and Shrimp Dumplings... I thought you didn't want me anymore..."

Hearing his daughter's hoarse sobs, Lin Fan's hand gripping the spoon tightened suddenly.

His heart felt like it had been twisted hard by something, aching and sore.
