"Since you were able to accurately identify these abnormal proteases and accurately state the name and progression of this rare disease, it means this isn't the first time you've encountered this disease!"

Su Qing's eyes lit up, as if she had grasped a lifeline.

"Any medical diagnosis must be based on clinical data. Since you were able to make a diagnosis, it means there must be precedents!"

A flicker of surprise crossed the doctor's eyes upon hearing this. He adjusted his glasses and nodded.

"Ms. Su, your thinking is indeed very sharp," the doctor readily admitted.

"That's right, there is precedent. In fact, that patient was diagnosed at our city's First People's Hospital."

Su Qing was overjoyed; the fear of being on the verge of death was instantly replaced by the will to survive.

"He was diagnosed here? How is he now?" Su Qing asked anxiously.

"He has recovered. All his indicators have returned to normal, and he has not suffered any aftereffects," the doctor replied crisply.

"Very good!"

Su Qing let out a long sigh of relief, her tense back relaxing as she leaned against the pillow.

She even managed a relieved smile.

There are precedents, and people have recovered. That means the disease is curable.

"Doctor, you were just scaring me by saying there was no cure." Su Qing regained her confidence, her tone becoming condescending again.

"Since that patient was also cured at your hospital, then you should simply copy his treatment plan!"

"Give me exactly the same medication he used and the specialists he consulted. I'll pay double the price."

The doctor's expression became somewhat complicated as he looked at Su Qing's confident demeanor, as if she believed she could buy her life with money.

He paused for two seconds, then gently shook his head.

"Ms. Su, I think you've misunderstood."

The doctor looked at her, his tone very serious: "I did say earlier that he had recovered. But this rare disease was cured more on its own than by our hospital."

"Not only did it not heal itself out of thin air, but when he was brought in, his condition was much more serious than yours."

The doctor recalled the scene, his eyes still filled with undisguised disbelief.

"When that patient was brought to the emergency room, not only were the levels of abnormal protease in his blood alarmingly high, but he had also entered a mild coma and all his vital signs were rapidly declining."

"We had even issued a critical condition notice to the family and were preparing to send the patient to the ICU for intubation."

The doctor paused for a moment and looked at Su Qing.

"As a result, his family brought him a bowl of food from outside."

Su Qing was completely confused: "A bowl of food?"

"Yes, it was just a bowl of ordinary food." The doctor nodded. "It was supposedly some kind of medicinal cuisine. Because the family fed it to us very quickly, we didn't see exactly what it was at the time."

Su Qing's brows furrowed into a tight knot. She felt that the doctor was making fun of her.

"Your city's First People's Hospital is the largest and most authoritative top-tier public hospital in the entire Jiangcheng! Its intensive care equipment is the most advanced in the city, and every expert in your department is a top-tier medical authority in their field."

Su Qing stared intently at the doctor, thinking it was an absolute joke.

"A rare, incurable disease that so many of your top doctors have been unable to treat, and which you have even issued a critical condition notice for, requiring intubation and waiting to die..."

"You're telling me now that a person can get better just from a bowl of some unknown, shoddy medicinal food that their family casually brought over from outside?"

Su Qing leaned against the pillow, feeling utterly absurd.

"A group of top-performing students who returned from studying abroad actually tried to fool me with these mystical stories of roadside remedies curing serious illnesses. Don't you think that's absurd and ridiculous?!"

"The truth is just that absurd, Ms. Su." Upon hearing this, the doctor was not angry at her questioning; instead, his tone became even more serious.

"The patient's heart rate and blood pressure miraculously rebounded less than half a day after eating that bowl of food."

"Afterwards, we did a full blood biochemistry test on him again, and those deadly abnormal proteases had completely disappeared. He checked out of the hospital on his own and walked away."

The doctor took a deep breath.

"At the time, this incident shocked all the directors of our emergency department and internal medicine department."

"We even secretly tested the residue from the lunchbox he threw in the hospital ward trash can. But the results showed that, apart from the extremely high-quality food ingredients, we couldn't find any chemical components."

The doctor looked at Su Qing and concluded, "That was a true miracle of dietary therapy. It was some unknown, top-quality ingredient that repaired his metabolic system."

The ward was eerily quiet.

Looking at the doctor's serious face, Su Qing could no longer smile.

There was no need for the doctor to make up such an absurd story for her in the middle of the night.

If it's true, it means that what saved her life wasn't the hospital's equipment or imported medicine, but that bowl of unknown stuff.

"Where did that bowl of stuff come from?" Su Qing's heart raced again as she asked anxiously.

"We asked the patient's family members, but they refused to say," the doctor said, shaking his head.

"What's the patient's name?" Su Qing grabbed the doctor's white coat sleeve, her tone urgent.

"Tell me his name and contact information. I'll go find him myself!"

In Su Qing's view, as long as you can find the right person and offer enough money, there's no one you can't get to talk.

The doctor calmly pulled the cuff out of Su Qing's hand and took a half step back.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Su."

The doctor looked at her, his attitude firm and businesslike.

"Our hospital has strict rules and regulations. We cannot disclose information involving patients' personal privacy and medical records."

"Moreover, this is their private matter, and we as doctors have no right to interfere."

"Please be lenient! It's just one name!"

Su Qing grew anxious, her voice rising, "Tell me your name, and I'll donate two of the most advanced CT scanners to the hospital!"

"This isn't a problem with the equipment; it's a matter of professional ethics," the doctor refused without hesitation.

"You should get some rest. I'll prescribe some nerve-nourishing fluids for you to have on an IV drip for the next few days. Don't stay up late anymore, and definitely don't drink coffee."

After saying that, the doctor closed the blue folder and turned to walk towards the ward door.

"Doctor! Don't go! Explain yourself!"

Su Qing tried to get up to pull him up, but as soon as she exerted force, the dizziness deep in her brain returned, and she could only fall back onto the pillow helplessly.
